Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge the Gundog Group & Best in Show. It was a very enjoyable day with lovely dogs to go over. Many thanks to the exhibitors for entering and allowing me to judge their dogs and for accepting my decisions on the day.

1st Hill & Smith, Megarvey Déjà vu, Mid gold bitch of good quality, feminine head correct shoulder placement, good straight front correct feet, level topline with correct tail carriage, moved well with handler, presented in perfect condition.

2nd Palmer, Linirgor Lady of Cairnglen, Gold bitch slightly taller than 1, head of good quality, good length of neck into correct shoulders, straight front with lovely feet, level topline with correctly carried tail. Just out moved by 1.

3rd Harper, Tullochmohr Shooting Star at Glynerva

2nd McAlpine, Drumkilty Mairead, 5-year-old gold girl, lovely head with good pigment, presented well, straight front, correct shoulders and clean neck, ribs of good depth level topline, correct tail set, slightly out moved today by 1.

1st Ogilvie, Linirgor Play my Song for Glenbuie, masculine 4-year-old boy of pale gold, lovely chiselling to head, slight loss of pigment but not detrimental, clean muscular neck into well placed shoulders, short coupled and deep through the heart, well sprung ribs, level topline with correct tail set, well-muscled and powered round the ring, a close choice for BOB

2nd Little. Bluebraes Jacobite Lass, 5-year-old gold girl of good quality, feminine type, presented in good condition, clean neck into correct shoulders, good front although handler needs to be aware of feet placement, topline good with correct tail set and tail never stopped, moved well.

1st Lewis, Crammondkirk Oh My, 13-month-old black girl of stunning quality, is everything the standard calls for, strongly built but not overweight, broad in skull and clean cut, eyes and ears correct, clean powerful neck with no excess into long well laid-back shoulders, legs well under body chest of good width and depth for age, short coupled and level topline, good width of loin, powerful rear quarters, correct tail that was very animated the whole time she was shown, correct dense coat, moved freely with handler. One to watch.  Best of Breed Group 1 & Reserve Best in Show

2nd Tulloch, Tullochmohr Final Hurrah, 16-month-old male black, masculine head with no coarseness, clean powerful neck into well placed shoulders which were slightly heavier than 1, straight front with legs well under body, level topline and with good width overall, strong rear quarters, correct tail and carriage, move well when handler got him steady.

1st Maclaine & Dickson, Greyspirit Hopes N Dreams JW, 5-year-old bitch of good type, aristocratic in looks prominent occiput, correct eyes, clean long neck, straight front with firm well arched toes, body of correct length with level topline with slight slope to croup, muscular rear quarters with well let down hocks, moved effortlessly with handler. Best of Breed

2nd O’Boyle, Sereva New Dawn. 2-year-old bitch who was a little nervous today, feminine head, good clean shoulders, straight front with good well arched toes, level topline, moderate rear quarters, moved ok although at times she seemed lame.

1st Danks, Colquhally Major Tom, 4-year-old boy of good size, head of correct depth and round in skull, muzzle of correct length and lines, long in neck, well laid-back shoulders, forelegs flat boned and correct upright pasterns, level in topline with deep back ribs, muscular rear, feet correct, presented in lovely condition, moved out well.

2nd Munro, Panthera Bad Medicine Dulmaur, 2-year-old bitch of good size, correct head, straight front with flat bone, correct oval feet, a little too much black on feet for me, good length to body with well sprung ribs, well bent stifles, steady mover.

1st Bolton, Stanroph Superstravegante at Shiresmill, Golden Retriever, Veteran dog who does not look his age, presented in excellent condition, lovely masculine head with black pigment, well chiselled balanced head, clean muscular neck into correct well laid back shoulders, straight front with good bone and legs well under body, short coupled body with well sprung ribs, level topline with correct tail set used well on the move, this boy could move he powered round the ring with a long free stride, he could put a lot of younger dogs in the shade, Best Veteran & Reserve Best Veteran in Show

2nd Drummond, Pollham Marley at Drumonagh, Labrador Retriever, Yellow girl who does not look her age, short coupled and strongly built and in good condition, broad skull with clean finishing, clean powerful neck into well laid-back shoulders, well boned straight front, good width of chest with well sprung barrel ribs without being heavy, well-muscled rear correct tail moved freely.

Akelis, Altina Like Father Like Son (Pomeranian) My star of the day 10 Mth old boy, lovely compact short coupled dog, meets the breed standard so well, very lively and owned the ring, correct in head with foxy outline, correct in eye, ears carried erect, short in neck and well set, front straight, body of correct proportions with good depth and well rounded, hindquarters straight with medium angulation, tail carried correctly, moved freely and briskly round the BIS show, a proper showman.

Wynne, Glenbranter Summat Special at Mydisa JW SHCM, (Siberian Husky), 2 months off his 12th birthday and denies the years in his presence, so well balanced and looked like he could easily do that power and endurance he was bred for, head finely chiselled with fox like appearance, eyes giving a keen expression, correct triangular ears held erect, arched neck holding head high, front legs parallel and elbows close to body, correct strong body with level topline to croup, deep in chest, slightly arched in loin and well-muscled, hindquarters parallel and muscled, his movement was effortless around the ring giving good reach and drive from the rear, an excellent example of the breed.
