Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge their open show , I was delighted with my entry and was spoilt for choice in some classes . I was given the chance to judge some of the top dogs in the breed and I thank all the exhibitors for allowing me to judge their lovely dogs . We had a huge ring and movement played a part in my decisions . I was impressed with the muscular condition of the dogs today . Mouths were good and all the temperaments were sound .

Minor Puppy Dog (1,0)

1 Bennett & Slimak’s Ansona Sprinter , well made young dog , with good shape to outline , head of good proportions , high ear set . Correct depth to forechest and balanced angles front and rear . Little loose in movement, to be expected at this age but showed good side gait moving round the large ring .

Puppy Dog (5,0)

Lovely class of male puppies

1 Simpson’s Sireva Emeyefive , a very smart well put together quality puppy , who caught my eye as he entered the ring . Presents a balanced outline , nothing overdone , everything in moderation , neck clean and set well into his shoulders . Deep through chest , brisket reaching elbows, good width to 2nd thigh , shown in great muscular condition , he moved true round the ring with accurate footfall , which is impressive in one so young , he held his topline stood and on the move , delighted to award him BPD & ultimately BPIS

2 Longbottom’s Gunalt McQueen, another lovely puppy , full of quality , a little more rangier than 1st which in turn means he needs more time to come together , loved his head , masculine but kind expression , well set ears , set high and of good length, clean neck of moderate length , ample front angulations with equal rear quarters . Moved well with a super open side gate . Handled well .

1 Robson’s Robricci Aramis JW, good shapely outline to this young dog , balanced outline stood . Head of correct proportions with kind expression , level topline , slight slope to croup , good width to second thigh and well bent stifles , he was very together on the move . Holding his topline level at all times. Put in a good performance with his handler .

2 Thorne’s Mabanika A Team, good overall shape , moderate angles front and rear . Pleasing head of good proportions , kind expression , ear set high and correct length . Just not as tidy behind on the move as the 1st placed dog today .

Yearling Dog (2,0)

1 Razzell, Hazeltine & Crowther’s Hundwith

Checkmate of Corotine JW , 14 month old dog , mature young dog with a cracking outline stood , good front angulations and well bent stifles . Balanced clean head , good length to foreface ,noble expression , neck of correct length set into well laid shoulders . Shown in excellent muscular condition. Covered the ground easily in the large ring ,holding his level topline at all times . Considered for higher honours .

2 Martin’s Deifstock Déjà vu for Teufel, 3rd in junior , not as mature as first , head balanced with good ear set , well off for bone, deep through chest and well ribbed back . Needs to settle on the move .  

Novice Dog (3,0)

1 Thorne’s Mabanika A Team repeat of 2nd in junior

2 Thorne’s Mabanika Cheers litter brother of 1st similar comments apply, he has a decent shape and and balanced outline stood but his mind was not on the job today , leading to some erratic movement .

Post Graduate Dog (6,2)

1 Hunter’s Braefell Dragonfly, just over 2 yrs old, balanced head with good eye and keen expression , ear set high , clean through neck flowing into well set shoulders . This boy has an excellent front, prominent forechest , shown in super condition, hands flowed over his muscled body . A tad longer cast but moved well with open side gait covering the ground easily .

2 Bennett’s Cavalmist Cosworth , nice type of dog , stood he is balanced in outline , nothing overdone ,moderate angulation front & rear , head of good proportions , just preferred the layback of shoulder and front assembly of 1st .

1 Hawkins’ Smilek Massachusettes, very much liked this boy’s overall shape , masculine in size but nicely balanced , well off for bone , strong through topline , which he held level on the move. Pleasing head of correct proportions with keen expression, handled well . Shown in good muscular condition. He moved steady and true .

2 Burgess’ Gunalt Vettel to Hantzburg , preferred this boys head , noble in expression with correct ear set , nice type of dog with straight front with good bone , ample forechest ,good bend of stifle and moved with drive and extension , just preferred the overall balance off 1st today .

Open Dog (5,1) I was very spoilt with this quality class. Thank you so much to the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to go over their dogs .

1 Alcorn & Ingram’s Sh Ch Gunalt Hendricks, Last judged this boy when he was at the top end of puppy , he has fulfilled his early potential, full of quality and breed type . He looks powerful and graceful and stood he presents a balanced outline. Aristocratic is the word which best describes his head, masculine but distinguished, balanced in proportions, correct width of skull to length of muzzle , kind but keen expression. Clean through neck , straight front with shoulders well laid back. Brisket reaching elbows , ribs reaching well back with short loin . Shown in excellent musculature condition . His movement showed drive and reach, his footfall was perfect , which ultimately won him the class today , he covered the ground easily with a super open side gate , he had to be in top form to beat the 2nd & 3rd place dogs . BD & my pleasure to award him BIS .

2 Evans & Pavey’s Sh Ch Gunalt Undeniable at Joneva JW , another dog who is full of breed type , so well balanced and a proud looking dog , who has a classic outline. Masculine head with kind, keen expression , straight front and good layback of shoulder . He is powerful and shown in great condition. Good angulations and he used his strong quarters to move easily around the ring . I was splitting hairs and on another day these dogs could change places , my pleasure to judge and award him , RBD & RBIS

3 Crowther’s Sh Ch Hundwith Mclaren, I just wanted to say I very much liked this quality dog , he was shown in super muscular condition, my hands just flowed over his body and he moved very well.

Raystans JW ShCM, another dog I have done well for before , he is another quality dog , full of breed type , head of excellent proportions, clean neck and strong topline , deep through body and well ribbed back . He does not look like or show like a veteran dog . He is in great muscular condition and moved well showing drive and reach . BVD

I liked 1st and 2nd very much , two quality puppies , whom I am sure will change places , similar remarks for both , super type and shape , feminine in head with kind expression, correct amount of bone and substance . They have good bone and tidy feet . Both moved steady and true , 2nd just dropped her topline on the stance but I am sure they will swap places many times

This young bitch caught my eye today , good substance but very feminine , pleasing outline and head of correct proportions. Straight front with well developed forechest, level topline which she held on the move . Covered the ground easily showing drive from her strong quarters . Handled and shown well . Her flowing movement won her the class.

2 Maskell & Rayner’s Enjager Harmony with

Brownbank another lovely young bitch , at first look , I thought the winner of the class , feminine but with the correct amount of substance. Preferred her head and expression , Good reach of neck and layback of shoulder but she was just not as positive on the move today , it had been a long day for a puppy . She should have a bright future .

Quality typey bitch , who is very feminine but still has substance , classic head and elegant expression, lovely balanced picture, correct length to height ratio , she has good front and super turn of stifle . Moved well covering the ground easily, showing the desired reach and drive .

2 Reakes’ Thrihyrne Love Letters , not as good in front as winner , she is correct height to length proportions , feminine head with kind expression. Well set ears of correct length and good reach of neck , level topline with correct turn of stifle . Not as positive on the move today .

Classic head and eye on this lovely bitch , good forechest, deep through brisket , appreciated her height to length ratio , on the move she used her muscular hindquarters to advantage , covering the ground well , showing drive and reach . Her topline was strong and held level stood and on the move. Very correct in her movement .

Another nice bitch to go over , she has good body proportions , correct reach of neck which sits cleanly into well laid shoulders , straight front and stands on tight feet . Correct bend of stifle , nice width of second thigh, she used her muscular hindquarters well to move soundly round the ring .

Litter sister of 1st and very similar comments , classic in outline and style , another feminine head but still with the desired keen expression, good reach of neck and stands on good bone and feet , I liked her very much today . Her sister just pipped her with her reach in front today .

Everything flows in this bitch , she is clean and balanced in outline . Shown in excellent muscular order . Moved well around the ring . She is still young and lost out in maturity to the veteran bitch but I was delighted to award her RBB in very good company .

Very smart bitch , nothing overdone , moderate and balanced are what my notes say. Ample reach of neck , strong level topline , slight slope to croup , She is in very good order and used her well muscled rear quarters to move easily around the ring showing drive and reach .
