1st Brown’s Merleycopse Cinder Ella to Baystride
3-year old blue bitch with lovely head and melting expression. Smaller in type but well-rounded bone, balanced angulation front and rear. Nice topline which she held when on the move. Could have been a little more confident in the challenge. Reserve BOB.

1st Harris’s Bridgella’s First Edition with Konakakela JW, ShCEX OSW
Dog I’ve seen many times and finally had the chance to get hands-on. Well balanced orange dog. Well chiselled head with correct ear set and very kind expression. Looks a picture stacked up; strong neck flowing into correct shoulder placement, short level back, good turn of stifle and nice short hocks, well set tail. His overall confirmation gave him the drive and reach on the move and his correctly carried tail finished the picture. Pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Thacker’s Hartsett Vanity Fair
Slightly longer in the back, but still an elegant Orange bitch. Pretty head with gentle expression. Adequate reach of neck good angulation front and rear with well-sprung ribs. Moved with drive, maintaining her topline. Unlucky to come up against a dog on form today.

Irish Setters

1st Howlett & Prowting’s Thendara Albatross
9 month old dog on the taller side for the breed. Well covered with pleasing head and gentle dark eye. Good angles front and rear with well pronounced sternum. Deep chested and well ribbed back with nice sloping topline. Rich dark coat. Moved well for a youngster. Happy to award him BPIB.

2nd Harris’s Zakhan’s Rough Diamond by Konakakela
Most of the comments on my winner apply to this promising 8 month old dog puppy. A lot to like about him and moved well. I was splitting hairs in this class but just preferred the tail set of my winner on the day.

1st Richardson’s Bluesprings Now I’m Here at Forestfire
Eye-catching rising 3-year old dog. Masculine head with gentle expression. Balanced outline with correct angulation front and rear. Good sternum, deep chested, well ribbed back, strong over the loin. Lovely topline into correct tailset. Racy outline on the stack and held his showy presence on the move. Happy to award him BOB.

2nd Lake’s Bluesprings Blarney
Litter brother to my winner and a good sound mover. Like his sister, good in angulation and depth of chest. Not quite the overall balanced look of his brother on the day. I would have liked slightly more stifle.

1st Williamson’s Bluesprings Sunday Girl (RBOB)
Sweet 4-year old bitch with lovely balanced outline. Pretty head with most gentle correctly shaped eye. Low ear-set and adequate length of neck flowing into correct topline and tailset. Hip to hock long and short strong pasterns. She moved with drive and power from strong hindquarters. Would have liked a slightly better coat but could not detract and a worthy reserve BOB.

2nd Williamson’s Bluesprings Picture This JW
Litter brother to my winner. Masculine head with kind eye. Enough length of neck. Good front angulation with pronounced sternum. Deep in chest, well-ribbed back to strong loin. Moved out well but today his sister presented a better overall picture.
