SUNDERLAND & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY – Open Show

Held on: Sunday 27th NOVEMBER 2022 Judge: Mr. Russell F. Jones (Quemerford)

I was pleased to be invited to Judge at this well-run event. I had a nice entry with not too many absentees and the overall quality of the exhibits was good. All the dogs were in a clean and well-presented condition so once again thank you for the invitation and to all the exhibitors for the entries.

BEARDED COLLIE Grad. D/B (5,1), 1. Peirson, G. & L., Farmens Like A Circus, (Imp. Swe): An absolutely super 9mth old black & white dog, loved his substance, he has a super out-line and is of a nice type. He was outstanding on the move particularly for one so young. Pleased to award him BP and later PG1. Very promising.    2. Burgon, Mrs. L. & Mr. A., Corimist Caissa: A 9mth old black & white bitch, that is another nicely proportioned youngster, pity she came up against 1st. She has plenty of substance, is a great shape and type, she was also good on the move. Should do well, liked her a lot.    3. Alexanders & Leckenby, Kiltondale Cherokee: This lad at 2yrs of age needs to settle. He is still a handful. His coat is of a nice blue & white colour and of a good texture.    4. Swietaicki, Mr. & Mrs, Talraz Sound of Music: A 16mth old bitch that is a little lean for me and lacks substance. She un-fortunately let herself down on the move today.

OD/B (2,1), 1. Leckenby, Mrs. J. & Mr. S., Kiltondale Chicago Flame, JW: A 4yr old dog that is of a good type and out-line with lots to like about him. He has plenty of substance and was shown in good blue & white coat that is of a nice texture. He fills the eye nicely and moves out well round the ring. Pleased to award him BOB.

BORDER COLLIE Grad. D/B (5,0), 1. Fisher, Mrs. S., Sevhine Diamonds to Cullain: A 3yr old b/w dog of a good type with a good out-line. He moved out well in this class and was shown in good coat.    2. Kempton, A., Clan-Abby Fly Me Over To Borderbrook, (Imp. Aust.): A 16mth old Merle coloured dog that is a nice type with a nice out-line. He is just lacking in maturity at the moment. His coat is coming along nicely and he moved out ok.    3. Hadden, Mrs. D. & Mrs. M, Simmovon Temptation: An 18mth old b/w dog that is still a little nervous, just needs to settle down and relax when in the ring. He moved a little close which was a shame.  

OD/B (1), 1. Kempton, A., Borderbrook Winter Sunset: A 23mth old b/w bitch that is nicely balanced and handled the floor well. She has a nice out-line and was very confident which showed in her stance. Moved out nicely and I was pleased to award her BOB.

BELGIUM SHEPHERD DOG (Groenendael) Grad. D/B (2,0), 1. MacLellen, Mr. & Mrs, P.& G., Debruis Moet Imperial: A 7.5 mth old dog, that is still a tad nervous, let’s hope he settles down. He is of a nice type and has a good out-line. Moves out well around the ring, should do well when settled.    2. Donaldson, Mr. Mrs, & Miss, Fivannte Love Of the Loved: A 23-month-old bitch that is of a good type and out-line. She has a lot going for her, just needs to settle down then she could change places.

OD/B (2,1), 1. MacLellen, Mr. & Mrs, P.& G., Debruis Taste of Diamonds, TAF: A 7.5 mth old bitch that is litter sister to 1st in previous class. She is of an excellent type with a good out-line and is so settled in the ring, moved out soundly around the ring. I was pleased to award her BOB, BP and PG2. Well done.    2. Bird & Caden, Hawksflight Paparazzi at Domburg: A 4yr old dog that is of a nice type and out-line and he moved out ok. He is a very happy boy and there is plenty of him.

BELGIUM SHEPHERD DOG (Tervueren) OD/B (3,0), 1. MacLellen, Mr. & Mrs, P.& G., Debruis Clicquot Prelude: A well grown 8mth old dog, that I had to ask twice as he is very mature for his age. He is well up to size and of good type with excellent out-line. So very confident on the move, that he was an easy BOB & BP. Later I awarded him Grp4 and PG3. Well done.    2. Arkley, Mrs. M., Domburg On My Mind: A 3yr old that is a big dog and there is plenty of him. He still keeps his shape and type. Moved ok around the ring.    3. Donaldson, Mr., Mrs. & Miss, Fivannte Krystal Raindrops, Sh.CM: A 10yr old bitch that was enjoying her day out with her owner and friends. She did not disgrace herself at all. She is a feminine girl who moved well, it was nice to see her.

GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG OD/B (2,0), 1. Cave, A., Casiann Ate: A 2yr old bitch that is of a very pleasing type with a nice out-line and good colour and kind face. She is as sound as a bell when moving fore and aft. Pleased to award her BOB.    2. Caldwell, L., Ylanris Paloma with Xety: A 4yr old bitch, not the stance of 1st, but pleasing enough. Tended to move a little close on the day.

HUNGARIAN PULI Grad. D/B (2,1), 1. Neo, Miss C., King Of Meadows Ariel at Sejati, (Imp. Serb.): A 13mth old bitch that is of a pleasing type and out-line, her coat is coming along nicely, and cording up well. She was presented in a very clean condition. Movement was ok, but needs to practice more. Pleased to award her BOB.

HUNGARIAN PUMI OD/B (2,1), 1. Cooke-Randquist & Cooke., Schnaubern Cepheus Star: A 20mth old light grey dog. A very nice dog of good type with a good out-line. I liked his angles and he had plenty of substance. Was shown in a quality jacket. Moved out ok. Pleased to award him BOB.

PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG Grad. D/B (3,1), 1. Holmes, L., Lisjovia Hanky Panky: A 14mth old bitch of good quality. She is of a nice type with a good out-line and well grown for her age with plenty of substance. Shown in good coat and moved well.    2. Robinson, Mrs. J., Lisjovia Blue Lagoon: An 18mths old dog that is well grown. Just needs time to mature, he also moved out well, so time is on his side.

OD/B (2), 1. Holmes, L., Lisjovia Sign Of The Times: A 2yr old dog that took my eye straight away, very eye catching. He is of an excellent type and has a nice out-line and plenty of substance. Moved superbly, handling the floor with ease. Very pleased to award him BOB, Grp.1. Later went on to take Res. BIS. Huge congratulations.    2. Holmes, L., Lisjovia Takahashi, JW, Sh.CM: A 7yr old dog there is plenty of him and he has a lot like. He is of a good type and has a good out-line. Just missed out on movement today.

PYRENEAN SHEEPDOG OD/B (4,2), 1. Robson, Mrs. R & Miss K., Sandytrail Scheherazade Meslabrit: A 6yr old fully mature bitch that was shown in full coat. She is of a good type with a good out-line. She flowed around the ring using all of it to her advantage. Pleased to award her BOB and Grp.2. Well done.    2. Robson, Mrs. R & Miss K., Sandytrail Seaphin: A 6mth old black bitch that looked like a proper scallywag. She was very happy and of a nice type with a good out-line. Her coat is coming along nicely and she moved well for her age. Pleased to award her BP and PG4. Well done.

COLLIE (Rough) OD/B (2,0), 1. Donaldson, Mr., Mrs. & Miss, Caronlea Celtic Traveller: A 2yr old s/w coloured dog that was shown in good coat. He is of a pleasing type with a nice out-line. He showed and moved well. Pleased to award him BOB.    2. Gibson, D., Wincani The Peacemaker: A 9mth old s/w dog that just needs to settle down. He is however a pleasing type with a nice out-line. BP.

SAMOYED OD/B (1,0), 1. Fremlin, Mr. G. & Mrs. H., Jazzmonta Thunder At Icewind: A 3yr old dog that is of a good type with a good out-line. He was shown in good coat and condition, and very pleasing to the eye. Moved out well around the ring. Please to award him BOB and Grp.3. Well done.
