BECKENHAM CANINE ASSOCIATION –

Open Show Held on: Sunday 3rd April 2022 Judge: Mr. Russell F. Jones (Quemerford)

I would like to thank the Committee for the opportunity to judge at this well-run show. It was a happy show, and it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves by the atmosphere which was great so keep it up. Also, many thanks to my Stewards for their invaluable help on this cold but sunny day. Many thanks to the exhibitors for the entry and for their sportsmanship whilst waiting to go in the ring. All exhibits were shown in a good clean condition. Well done to all.

AVNSC WORKING P D/B (3,2), 1. Miss C. Alderson, Cyronelle Dixie Princess: A 6.5mth old St. Bernard puppy bitch that was at her 1st show. She stood alone in this class and enjoyed the atmosphere on the day. She is well grown for her age and is still a little loose all through, which is perfectly fine at this age. She was very steady on the move showing off her good angles. Very pleasing indeed. Pleased to award her BP and Res. BOB. She later went on to win Working P. Grp.2. Well done.

PG D/B (2,1), 1. Mrs. A. & Mr. P. Gray, Springhaze Quartz Crystal: A Great Swiss Mountain Dog a 3yr old bitch that is well up to size and is of a good type with a pleasing out-line, nice head and good eye and good length of neck. She took a while to get moving but moved out nicely once settled. Pleased to award her BOB and Working Grp. 4.

AV WORKING J D/B (4,1), 1. Mrs R.J & Mr. D.A. Simms, Sutarka’s Angelica at Arcticskies: Siberian Husky. A 10mth old bitch that is well grown for her age. She was very well settled in the ring, showing herself off well. She is of a lovely type with a good out-line which she kept on the move. So well balanced for her age that I was pleased to award her Working P. Grp. 1.  Later she went on to win Res. BPIS. Many congratulations.     2. Mrs. V.A. & Mr. B. Wheeler, Olibetay Bella Rose at Hipkins: Boxer. A 15mth old bitch, pity that she came up against 1st. She is a very feminine girl of good type with a lovely out-line. Very pleasing to handle and well put together. Moved out well around the ring.     3. Mrs L. Harvey, Harvlin Nordic Mystery: Boxer. A 15mth old Brindle coloured dog that is well up to size. Not quite the angles of the above which reflected in his movement.

O D/B (2,1), 1. Mrs. L. Bole, Harvlin Hot Toddy: A 4yr old Brindle Boxer dog that stood alone in this class. He is well up to size with plenty of muscle and is of a nice type with a nice out-line and good angles. Moved out ok.

AV WORKING VETERAN D/B (3,1), 1. Mrs. R.J. & Mr. D. Simms, Red Hot Lover Legend of The Spirit, JW., Sh.CM, (Imp. Pol.): Siberian Husky. A 7yr old dog of a nice type and out-line. Very nicely balanced and shown in good coat. Just needed a little time to loosen up then he moved out well covering the ground with ease.     2. Mr. I.J.M & Mrs. A.V. Dickenson, Kalaslane Demyan, Sh.CM, (IKC): An 8yr old Russian Black Terrier a dog that is a large lad and is well up on his legs and is impressive in his stance. Because of his size he needed a runner which was a shame as I would have liked to have seen him moved correctly.

WORKING GROUP: 1. Mrs. G. Staples, Ch. Riesenheim Taio Cruz to Ruffhaus: Giant Schnauzer. A 3yr old dog of superb type with a good out-line. He stood away for me moving around the ring effortlessly. Pleased to also see him take Res. BIS. Congratulations. He is so well balanced.    2. Mr. & Mrs. S. Spencer, Uftonponds Maid By The Loch at Ashronsha: Boxer. A 17mth old bitch that is very feminine and of a good type with a nice out-line. Very nice head carriage and neck, good angles front and rear. Moved out nicely around the ring.     3. Mr. C. Boswell, Arctictreks Running Man: Siberian Husky. A 21mth old dog that is of a pleasing type with a good out-line. Handler needs to be more confident to get the most out of him.     4. Mrs. A. & Mr. P. Gray, Springhaze Quartz Crystal: Great Swiss Mountain Dog. As before.

WORKING PUPPY GROUP: 1. Mrs R.J & Mr. D.A. Simms, Sutarka’s Angelica at Arcticskies: Siberian Husky. As before. Res. BPIS. 2. Miss C. Alderson, Cyronelle Dixie Princess: St. Bernard. As before.    

Res. BOB Working Competition Mr. C. Boswell, Cryanreuch Stargazer: Siberian Husky. A dog that is rising 3yrs of age. He is of a pleasing type with a nice out-line and very nice on the move.

AVNSC PASTORAL P D/B (2,0), 1. Mr. R.D. Stuhldreer, Pumiden Miep Gies for Widowmaker: An 8mth old white Hungarian Pumi puppy bitch that is a lovely shape and type and is really settled. Enjoying herself in the ring. She is well presented and shown in a really nice puppy coat. Moved out very well. Pleased to award her BP and Pastoral PGR. 3. Well done.     2. Miss K. Waite, Tequila Vom Funken Spiel: GSD. A very nice 9mth old bitch, pity she came up against 1st in the class. She is very feminine with good rich colours and of super type. I look forward to seeing how she comes on in the future.

J D/B (2,0), 1. Miss C. Birdsall, Beauvallon Realms of Glory: OES. A 15mth old bitch that is of a nice type and conformation, with good angles front and rear. She was presented in a wealth of junior coat and handled very well. She moved out soundly around the ring and I was pleased to award her Best Pastoral Res. BOB.     2. Mrs. A.T. Webb, Barronoaks Etta Bagel: Briard. A 14mth old black bitch, that is of a nice type with a nice out-line. Pity she came up against the 1st today as she moved confidently around the ring.

PG D/B (8,2), 1. Miss C. Birdsall, Beauvallon Realms of Glory: OES. As before.     2. Mrs. S. Cork, Jandade Precious Chanel: A Briard bitch that is just over 2yrs of age that was shown in good coat. She is of a nice type and has a nice out-line. Moved out well, pity she came up against 1st today.    3. Miss K. Waite, Raska Vom Funken Spiel (Imp Cro), NAF, TAF.: A GSD bitch that is 19mths of age and is very feminine and of a pleasing type. Moved out well today.

O D/B (4,0), 1. Ms. M.S. & Mrs. V.J. Leggett, Meldale Diamond Moon: A 4yr old OES bitch that is of a very nice type that was standing four square. She was well balanced throughout, with a very feminine head, good length of neck and good angles front and rear with neat hocks. Her coat is of a good colour and she was well presented. Her owner should make her up she is of a very pleasing type. Moved out soundly around the ring and was an easy winner for me. Pleased to award her BOB then Pastoral Grp 1. Pleased also to see her later win BIS. Many congratulations.     2. Mrs. J. Wilson, Jandade Precious Blossom, JW: Just over 3yrs of age a fawn coloured Briard bitch that is of a good type and nice out-line. She has a neat head and neck, good angles front and rear and good top-line. Moved well around the ring.     3. Ms. M.S. & Mrs. V.J. Leggett, Meldale Obsidian Moon: A 4yr old OES dog. Brother to winner and is similar in type and style. Unfortunately, just lacks coat, apart from that he is a very nice dog that was handled well.     4. Miss K. Waite, Kintaro Malaga: GSD dog.

ANY VARIETY PASTORAL J D/B (1,0), 1. Miss C. Birdsall, Beauvallon Realms of Glory: OES. As before.

O D/B (2,0), 1. Sangster & Rennison, Miss S. & Miss M., Zaniah Mono Tone of Drumcauchile: A b/w Shetland Sheepdog male that is rising 4yrs of age. He is of a good type with a nice out-line and very sweet expression and correct eye set. I liked him a lot and he moved out soundly around the ring.    2. Miss M. Rennison, Kayla Kiss Ze Shetlandu by Zaniah, (Cze Imp): Shetland Sheepdog b/m bitch that is nearly 3yrs of age. She is a sweet girl, not quite the head of 1st, but has a better ear set. She also has nice angles and moves out well.

VETERAN D/B (1,0), 1. Miss T. Gray, Bonvivant Ave A Go of Okami, Sh.CM, Belgian Shepherd Dog. (Laekenois): A 12yr old dog. I am the 1st to admit that I am a sucker for a Laekenois to me they are the workmen of the dog world and at 12yrs of age this dog when you look at him, he has worked. Then he moves, lovely that’s all you need to say. Loved watching him move. Pleased to award him BV and to cap it all he later won Res. Best Vet. In Show. Congratulations.

PASTORAL GROUP: 1. Ms. M.S. & Mrs. V.J. Leggett, Meldale Diamond Moon: OES. B. As before.       2. Mr. Hoskins, Birkcross Gracie at Lefevre: A 6yr old b/w Border Collie bitch that is of a very nice type. Good angles throughout and a nice out-line. Very nice and moved out well.       3. Mr. J. & Mrs. M. Cheal, Carolelen Composer: A s/w Shetland Sheepdog that is just over 2yrs of age. This is a very pleasing dog of good type with a good out-line. He also has a good head carriage and he moves well.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP: 1. Mrs. V. Hawker, Moshanta Magic Penny for Tayrinja: Border Collie, b/w bitch 9mths of age that is a very nice type with a nice out-line. She was well handled and moved around the ring soundly. Good angles to front and rear. Congratulations.     2. Mr. D. & Mrs. W. Matthews, Easterbon Time Will Tell: A 9mth old b/m Shetland Sheepdog puppy bitch. She is of very pleasing type with a nice head carriage and neck. Good out-line and moved out well. I liked her.     3. Mr. R.D. Stuhldreer, Pumiden Miep Gies for Widowmaker: As before.
