It was a pleasure to be asked to judge at this show once again. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side today. The entry was well down from the pre-pandemic shows, is this a sign of the things to come, as the price of fuel and essentials sky rocket. Will exhibitors be cutting back on some of the open shows. I was pleased with the exhibits all were clean and well-groomed and managed well throughout the day. Many thanks to all for accepting my placings. I wish you all well for the future. Many thanks to my stewards who did a grand job throughout the day.

ANY VARIETY PASTORAL V D/B (7,2), 1. Treasure, Mrs. J. & Mr. M., Infindigo Riemu Emmi, Sh.CM, VW: A 10yr old Finnish Lapphund bitch that moved around the ring like a 3yr old. She is of a pleasing type with a nice head, dark eyes and good bite. I liked her neat front and deep brisket, her good back and nice back end and her very neat hocks. She was well presented and well handled. Pleased to award her 1st and Best Veteran. Well done and thank you for bringing her. 2. Robinson, Miss K., Lavika Lucky Star, JW: A 7yr old s/w Shetland Sheepdog, bitch that is very neat with a lovely out-line. I liked her neat head, nice expression, and good ear-set. She also has a good brisket and neat back-end. She was shown in plenty of coat that was well groomed and presented. Pushed hard for 1st place. Also moved out well around the ring. 3. Thorne, Mrs. R.S. & Mr. J.R., Ch. Belshanmish Pretty in Pink at Pyrajay, Sh.CM, Sh.CEx: An 8yr old Pyrenean MD bitch that is still in top form and was shown in top condition. Was just beaten on movement on the day. She has a good head and eye, correct bite and muzzle. Excellent front properties and good back and good backend. She was shown in excellent coat. 4. Eldred, Mrs. M.K., Karmidale Talk of the Town at Belthorne: Shetland Sheepdog D.

BELGIAN SHEPHERD DOG (Groenendael) O D/B (2,0), 1. O’Neil & Lawless, Mrs. L. & Miss K., Revloch Quentin Tarentino, (IKC): A 2.6yr old dog that is of a very pleasing type with a very masculine head. Good length of neck, good chest and tuck up. Neat rear end. He moved out well around the ring. I was pleased to award him BOB. 2. O’Neil, Mrs. L., Naduarah’s Lush, (Imp Nor): A nice bitch that is nearly 7yrs of age. She is of a nice type with a nice out-line. Was not quite as easy as 1st on the move today.

BELGIAN SHEPHERD DOG (Tervueren) O D/B (2,0), 1. Pilgrim, Ms. T.A., Ch. Domburg By Appointment at Woodbriar: An eye catching 4.6yr old dog that stood out for me. He has a well-balanced head with excellent ear set, nice muzzle and bite. Excellent neck into well laid shoulders, good brisket and good bone. I liked his strong back and excellent back end with good angles. He was well presented and shown in excellent coat. Moved effortlessly around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB and later Grp 2. 2. Simpson, Miss. T., Hawksflight the Phoenix AW(G): A 7yr old dog of pleasing type and out-line, unfortunately not the front of 1st which showed in his movement.

AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD DOG G D/B (1,0), 1. Scanlan, Mrs. L., Franmar Blue Mistique: A 9mth old merle coloured bitch that it well grown for her age. He has a good head and ear-set, good eye, muzzle and bite. Good depth of brisket, strong back and neat back end. She was really steady on the move and I was pleased to award her BOB and BP and later PGrp 3. Well done. OD (1,0), 1. Scanlan, Mrs. L., Mistyholly Blues Brother of Franmar, Sh.CM: A 6yr old merle dog, that just beginning to show his age. He is of a pleasing type and out-line. Just let down on movement today. OB (3,2), 1. Scanlan, Mrs. L., Allmark Fairy Tales of Franmar: A 6yr old tri coloured bitch that is of a good type with a nice out-line. She moved out ok. Just needs to watch her weight as she likes her food.

BEARDED COLLIE G D/B (2,0), 1. Tippett, Mr. I.G. & Mrs. T.M., Potterdale Solar Plus at Snowtip: A 19mth old dog that is well up to size. He was shown in good grey coloured coat that was well groomed. He has a nice head of good proportions, good neck, deep brisket and plenty of bone. Strong back of good length and strong back end. He moved out well and covered the ground easily. Pleased to award him BOB. 2. Lenaghan, Mrs G., Balnaid Majic Moment: A 5yr old bitch with a dark grey colour coat, not quite the amount of 1st. She is of a pleasing type and out-line. Was just let down on movement today. O D/B (1,0), 1. Lenaghan, Mrs G., Balnaid Majic Moment: As above.

COLLIE (ROUGH) OD (3,2), 1. Scamp, Mrs. M., Aaronwell Ayebeecee at Marketdene: A 7yr old tri coloured dog that is of a nice type with a nice out-line. He was shown in fine fettle and moved out well. Pleased to award him BOB. Well done. OB (2,1), 1. Scamp, Mrs. M., Stregato The Maleficent at Marketdene: A 5yr old s/w coloured bitch that missed out on BOB as she would not stop pacing. She was also a little out of coat but over all she is a pleasing type of girl.

PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG G D/B (1,0), 1. Thorne, Mrs. R.S. & Mr. J.R., Belshanmish New Sensation at Pyrajay: A very feminine 18mth old bitch that is a lovely type with a great out-line for her age. She stood alone in this class but never-the-less is of a very nice type. She has a lovely head, good length of neck and nice front. Super back end and strong hocks. Pleased to award her BOB and later Grp 3. Well done. O D/B (1,0), 1. Thorne, Mrs. R.S. & Mr. J.R., Belshanmish New Sensation at Pyrajay: As above.

SAMOYED G D/B (1,0), 1. Prout, Mrs. K. & Miss. C., Jackson Maltayed at Furzeland, (Imp Pl) NAF: A very nicely balanced 7mth old dog. He has a nicely balanced head with correct bite, dark eyes and nice ear-set. Good length to neck, good front and brisket, nice strong back, good back end and nice tail-set. He moved out very well around the ring. Pleased to award him BP, BOB and later P.Grp.1. Congratulations.

WELSH CORGI (Cardigan) G D/B (3,2), 1. Denning, Mrs. S., Branwen Pert: A 3yr old brindle bitch, a very pleasing girl with a feminine head, good neck and neat front. Nice back and good angles front and rear, moved really well around the ring. I really liked her and was pleased to award her BOB.

WELSH CORGI (Pembroke) G D/B (2,1), 1. Guard, Mrs. E., Altaria’s Wish: A 10.6mth old tri coloured bitch that is quite a cutie. She is nicely balanced for her age and is of a nice type with a nice out-line. She holds her top line on the move. Pleased to award her BP and later P.Grp.2. Well done. O D/B (1,0), 1. Denning, Mrs. S., Ermyn Jack of Diamons: A 5yr old s/w masculine dog that is well grown with a good head and neck. Neat front and rear, good back, really keeps his top-line on the move. I liked him and was pleased to award him BOB he was later pulled out in the group, which he fully deserved.

AV PASTORAL – BRACE/TEAM 1. Robinson, Miss K., Lavika Deep Blue Ocean, D. and Lavika Lucid Dreams, B. A pair of blue merle Shetland Sheepdogs, that were very nicely balanced and looked a picture together.

AV PASTORAL – OPEN STAKES (5,1,) 1. Jacobs-Pearce, Mrs. N.L., Arundall Mithra: A 3yr old fawn Briard, dog. That is of a good size and type with a good out-line. He has a good head, eye, muzzle and bite. A good length of neck, good front and back and good angles front and rear. Pleased to award him the class. 2. Scanlan, Mrs. L., Mistyholly Blues Brother of Franmar, Sh.CM: Australian Shepherd, dog, as before. 3. Robinson, Miss K., Lavika Deep Blue Ocean: A 2yr old merle dog that has a lovely out-line and is of good type and nicely balanced. Moved out well. 4. Robinson, Miss K., Lavika Star Babe: A 3yr old sable bitch that is pleasant enough, just let herself down on the move.

PASTORAL GROUP: 1. Noyce & Barkham, Mrs. S. & Miss C., Zottels Just As Nice at Lammorick: Old English Sheepdog. A 2.6mth old bitch that is very nice to go over. She is a well-balanced girl that was shown in good coat of good quality and colour. She has a good head and ear-placement, eye, stop, muzzle and bite. Good length of neck, good front and depth of brisket. Gentle rise to loin, neat angles to rear and good hocks. Moved out well around the ring. Pleased to award her Grp. 1. 2. Pilgrim, Ms. T.A., Ch. Domburg By Appointment at Woodbriar: Belgian Shepherd Dog (Terv.) Dog, as before. Grp. 2. 3. Thorne, Mrs. R.S. & Mr. J.R., Belshanmish New Sensation at Pyrajay: Pyrenean M.D. Bitch, as before.
