May I start by saying an appreciation to the Society for inviting me to judge Cavalier King Charles Spaniels at today’s show. I was well supported with an entry of 23, and I was delighted for my 1st Cavalier appointment to have this wonderful opportunity. Everybody was in good sporting manor towards one another and showed with a lovely atmosphere. I would like to Thank The Exhibitors for supporting me, and the lovely comments on how I present myself whilst judging with kindness and gentleness. Could I also give thanks to my steward of the day, Mrs Sheila Hindle who was helped by my daughter Amelia. Both did a wonderful job keeping the ring flowing in a professional timely manner. Finally I must mention the hard working team in the kitchen who go above and beyond looking after us throughout the day with delicious meals, snacks and drinks.

1st Richardson – Kringleholme Kraftwerk Best Puppy Dog Best Puppy In Breed

Beautiful Blenheim dog puppy of just eight months old. Very happy, loving temperament and very attentive to handler. Nice in head Piece, flattish skull with shallow stop. Eyes large and round with good space between. Ears set high with lovely feathering coming through. Slightly arched in neck and level in back. Enough depth to fore chest with shoulders well laid back. Tail carried happily on the move Showing elegance. Legs of moderate bone, straight with feet compact and well feathered. Parallel action when moving. Delighted to later watch him take Toy Puppy Group 3.

2nd Leach & Mancey – Estrid Erasmus

Another beautiful male Blenheim of 9 months old. Attentive to handler showing much affection. Lovely in head, ears high set with feathering coming on. Eyes dark and round, shallow in stop and well tapered in muzzle. Slightly arched in neck with good shoulder placement. Straight in front with moderate bone. Nice body condition, level in back with good spring of rib. Tail carried happily out on the move. Good turn of stifle to rear legs with feet well cushioned. Another with parallel movement and good drive from behind.

3rd J & D Barraclough – Bowfort Tri To Impress With Juette just a little mention for this puppy who was also a lovely boy, in tri colour and of 8 months old. He was very attentive to handler throughout and I am sure he will mature just lovely.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel junior dog (2/1) Leach - Ouzlewell’s Symphony

Young male of 14 months old. Blenheim with rich chestnut colour, marked nicely broken up. Flat skull between high set ears, feathering coming on nice. Dark, large eyes sparkling. Shallow stop, enough in muzzle length, tapering. Slightly arched in neck flowing to well laid shoulders, straight in front legs of moderate bone, feet well cushioned with plenty feathering. Level in back with good body condition, nice spring of rib. Tail set well on, carried out on the move happily. Straight behind with well turned stifle. Soft silky coat with feathering in correct places.

1St Walker – Stavonga Sky Walker Kayceekay JW Reserve Best Of Breed Best Dog

 What a handsome lad this male is, 20 months old Blenheim with rich chestnut colour, evenly marked coat with silky soft hair. Beautifully outlined, Masculine headpiece with ears placed high, long and nicely feathered. Eyes large, dark and rounded showing lovely expression. Enough muzzle length, tapering, with good cushioning to face. Slight arch to neck flowing down to a level topline. Well laid shoulders with muscle. Straight in legs of moderate bone, feet well cushioned and compact. Good in body condition with nice spring to ribs. Enough depth to fore chest giving good heart room. Correct tail carriage of enough length carried out happily on the move. Straight behind with well turned stifle. On the move this boy smiled his way around the ring, he showed true elegance in action with plenty drive from the rear. Covered ground well, straight action with compact cushioned feet parallel in motion.

2nd Leach – Melrose Dalton(imp Ger)

Another handsome Blenheim male of 5 years old. Lovely boy showing sweet temperament very friendly and attentive to handler throughout. Nicely marked coat of rich chestnut and of silky soft coat with plenty feathering. Masculine in head, fairly flat Between high set ears with plenty feathering. Lovely dark round eyes which sparkled. Shallow in stop with muzzle tapering housing a good bite, lips well developed and well filled in face. Good depth to chest, slightly arched in neck flowing down a level back. Well laid shoulders supported by straight moderately boned legs. Nicely conditioned to body, well sprung in ribs. Tail carriage well set on and of good length in balance with body. On the move he pushed with drive from behind using his compact well cushioned feet to cover ground.

3rd Fox – Lynmily Mister Blue Sky

Just a little mention on this 5 year old male another masculine head with beautiful expressive large dark eyes. A larger male but in lovely condition. Super attentive to handler throughout enjoying his time in the ring.

1ST McMurray – CH Harana Jack Jones at Merryoth VW Best Veteran In Breed

Very handsome male nearly eight years old, Blenheim in colour with rich chestnut markings on a nice clean Pearl white background. on first view he presented in lovely outline with a super happy temperament. very masculine in head with soft sweet expression. High set ears, long with plenty feathering. Beautiful dark round eyes, shallow in stop with tapering muzzle housing correct scissor bite. Slightly arched in neck of moderate length flowing down a level top line and fitting into well laid shoulders. Very nice body condition with good spring of rib. Coated clean, long and silky with correct feathering. Tail well set on and carried very happily. Straight in leg of moderate bone, feet compact and cushioned with feathering. Moved freely coming and going with plenty drive from behind. Straight, elegant action in front.

2nd Fox – Lewharle Izzadorable For Lynmily

 What a beautiful older girl she is. Nearly 9 years old and of lovely outline. Clean coat long and silky soft with plenty feathering. Head almost flat between high set long ears with plenty feathering. Sparkling large dark eyes with a soft, feminine expression. Slight arch to neck sloping down to well laid shoulders. Level in back, well bodied up with good spring of rib. Depth to fore chest. Straight in legs of moderate bone with feathering to back of legs and well cushioned compact feet. On the move she moved out with pure elegance, happily and proudly carrying her tail out. She was so very attentive to her handler throughout.

1st Leach – Melrose Star Katniss (imp Deut) taf Best Puppy Bitch

Nicely marked Tri coloured bitch Puppy of 7 months old. Very feminine outline, lovely clean, plenty Puppy coat. Feminine in head, high set ears with nice feathering. Sweet soft expression with large dark eyes that sparkled. Good in stop, enough length to muzzle. Moderate length to neck flowing down to a level top line. Good shoulder placement with straight legs. Good depth to fore chest. Enough spring to rib on a Puppy body. Tail well set on and of good length. She moved well for a baby coming and going showing attention to handler throughout. Pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch.

1St Waters – Sweetbriar La Dee Da

16 months old Beautifully marked Blenheim female, very sweet, pretty expression, dark eyes large and rounded. Ears with nice feathering set high of length either side of her face. Nice depth to fore chest. Slightly arched to neck fitting into well laid shoulders. Straight in back, good body condition, ribs well sprung. Tail carried out on the move happily. Straight in legs of enough bone, feet compact With plenty feathering all round. On the move she was very attentive to handler, reaching out with elegance and drive from behind. She enjoyed her time in the ring.

2nd Leach – Arrowbien Doris Day

Lovely feminine young girl of 13 months old. Blenheim in colour, nicely marked, clean coat. Lovely in head, soft sweet expressive eyes, Dark and rounded. Shallow in stop, muzzle tapered. Slightly arched In neck of moderate length. Good body condition, Level in back with ribs well sprung. Tail well set on carried happily out on the move. Straight in legs, moderate bone, Good muscle in rear with turn of stifle. Compact feet well cushioned. Free moving coming and going.

3rd Fox – Brymarden Scarlet For Lynmily

Just a little mention on this nearly 13 months old female. Another beautiful Young lady with sweet, soft expression. Good sized girl nicely coated. Level in back, tail carried out on the move happily showing good rear drive. Very attentive to handler throughout.

1St McMurray – Merryoth Mockingbird

Lovely young female of 2 years old. Another Blenheim of rich chestnut and white. Clean, silky coat with nice feathering. Beautiful in head piece, flattish on top, ears set high of length and plenty feathering. Large dark eyes, sparkling. Shallow in stop, well filled below eyes. moderate depth to fore chest, good heart space. Lovely I body condition, short coupled and level in back. Tail well set on in balance with body. Straight in legs, good feathering, moderately boned. Nice angulation behind with good turn of stifle. Well cushioned and compact feet. On the move she pushed off with drive behind and elegance in front.

1st Rix – Stavonga Sea Change at Ricksbury JW Best Of Breed Best Bitch

Absolutely delightful female of 20 months old. Outline on first view was clean and flowing. Very pretty in head with large dark eyes, ears set high of length and plenty feathering. Well filled up under her eyes enough cushioning. Scissor bite housed by a tapered muzzle, lovely dark pigmentation. Smooth flowing neck down to a level back, fitting just right into well laid shoulders. Enough depth to fore chest giving plenty heart room. Perfect in body condition showing off her silky soft coat, well marked evenly in Blenheim. Tail of correct length in proportion to body, nicely feathered held happily out on the move. Good turn to stifle in the rear, nice muscle tone and good angulation. Straight in front of moderate bone, well cushioned feet. Free flowing on the move showing elegance, and a happy temperament moving parallel with plenty rear drive. Delighted to further watch her take Reserve Best In Show.

2nd Richardson – Kringleholme Mosaic

Another beautifully presented female. This girl I believe is 5 years old today and she made sure we knew it with a lovely Cavalier smile and her tail never stopped wagging. Blenheim in colour with nice markings. Very pretty in head, sweet soft expression. Ears placed high of good length and well feathered. Dark rounded eyes. Shallow in stop, tapered muzzle of enough length. Smooth arched in neck fitting into well laid shoulders. Level in back, good body condition with well sprung ribs. Tail length in balance with body, carried happily, wagged throughout. Straight and parallel in legs of moderate bone. Feet well cushioned with feathering. On the move, she showed elegance in action.
