Firstly I’d like to say a Thank you to all the Pug Exhibitors for accepting me as a replacement judge at short notice. I was delighted to be asked and was pleased to see many healthy Pugs. Not one showed respiratory /breathing issues.

1st W & J. Howe Capetonians Nik Nacs

Beautiful young female of 11 months old. Fawn In coat colour with a lovely shaped outline. Rounded, Feminine in head and expression. Large dark eyes, Small soft ears folded forward. Short in muzzle with nose fairly large and good opened nostrils. Strong in under jaw. Nice depth to fore chest, neck slightly arched flowing down a level back. Short and cobby in body well sprung in rib. Strong in legs, with feet straight Free moving youngster with good push from behind and good reach in front. Tail high set and curled tightly back over hips. A lovely gentle natured youngster.

2nd S. Nugent Borobullyz Little Good Luck Charm

Another lovely youngster of just 6 months old. Female fawn coloured. Nicely outlined well bodied. Rounded in head with feminine expression, lovely large dark eyes, small soft ears, nicely short in muzzle with nose having open nostrils. Strong in jaw. Slightly arched in neck sloping down a level top line with tail courage high set and curled back over hip. Short and Cobby in body with good spring to rib. Strong in leg with nice angulation in the rear, straight movement Pushing from behind.

Very pretty 15 months old female, Fawn in colour with fine soft coat. Lovely in shape and outline feminine head and expression. Nicely rounded in head With good wrinkling. Large dark eyes Forward facing, Velvet like small soft ears, Shorten muscle with nose fairly large and good open nostrils. nice depth to for chest with strong neck slightly arched flowing down a level back. Tail carried up and over Tightly curled and set high on. Strong in legs of moderate length And feet neatly forward facing. Straight in movement both coming and going. Super attentive young dog. Pleased to award her reserve best of breed.

2nd S. Nugent Borobullyz Winterberry

Beautiful young female of just six months old. Nicely shaped outline. Feminine in head with expressive large dark eyes. small velvety soft ears, forward facing. Short in muzzle, Black nose with open nostrils. nicely strong in under jaw. Good depth to chest, strong and slightly arched in Neck. Level in top line with tail highly set and tightly curled back over hip. short and cobby body with well sprung ribs, coat smooth, soft and fawn in colour. Moderate length to legs with good rear angulation Nice and straight forward facing feet nice reach in front and fall well under shoulders. A promising young puppy Very pleased to award her best puppy in breed and later see her take Puppy group 2.

2nd N. Walker Sunlea Memphis Belle

Another beautiful Young female 17 month old. Fawn in colour with coat soft and glossy in texture. Nicely outlined, Relatively large in head rounded, with short muzzle and nose black with good open nostrils. fairly large in eyes expressive. Nicely strong underjaw, strong in neck slightly arched with good depth to chest. Short and cobby in body Rounded well sprung ribs. Tail highly set and tightly curled over hip. Moderate leg length of strong bone, straight with tight forward facing feet. She sadly had a fright whilst in the ring due to signage falling down, however I allowed her some time to settle back down. I hope this does not put her off in future.

Fabulous young female of three years old, fawn in colour with soft Glossy fine coat. Another lovely exhibit In good profile. Fairly large rounded in head with nicely placed ears of soft smooth fur. sparkling eyes dark and rounded. Short in muzzle Just enough wrinkling to face. Black nose with nicely opened nostrils. Strong in under jaw. Slightly arched in neck of good length, Shoulders well sloped and muscled. Deep in for chest, Short and cobby in body With rounded spring to ribs. Highly set tail tightly twisted over hip. straight and strong in front and rear with good turn of stifle, Straight rise in front movement With forward facing neat feet. a very worthy winner I awarded best of breed to.

Very handsome male of 2 years old, Nicely outlined of good size. Masculine in head, rounded with ear placement Of soft velvety texture. large rounded and dark eyes, Short in muzzle Fairly large in north with nicely open nostrils. nice head wrinkling, Strong in underjaw, Deep in chest good heart room. slightly arched strong neck of good Length. Level in back with highly set tail carriage and twisted over hip. Strong, short and cobby in body, good spring to ribs and well rounded. Very strong in legs, Straight In feet. Moved freely but firmly with good use of rear action.

Lovely shaped male of 2 years old, red sable and white in colour. Scull slightly rounded between the ears, with a well defined stop good length of muzzle with a scissor bite. Eyes of medium size and rounded, Ears large with lovely fringing and used throughout. Medium length of neck flowing down a level top line finishing with a long fringed tail. hi set and arched over the back plenty of plume. Long in body with well sprung ribs. Nice straight legs with good depth to chest in front, and good turn of stifle in rear. Feet hare like with good fringing. On the move, he was free flowing and light on his feet. Pleased to Award him Reserve best of breed

2nd E.Kirk Lynflyer Rainbow Dancer At Kirkchase

A youngster I have had the pleasure of judging previously and my she is just getting better with maturity. She is a real feminine female. 15 months old, tri colour with long, beautiful and flowing coat. Very pretty in outline. Sweet gentle expression with rounded eyes, ears large and placed well with plenty fringing. Defined in stop and a scissor bite. Medium in neck length sloping down across a level top line. Fairly long in body length with good spring of rib. Tail set high on, with length over her back and of plentiful fringes. She moved freely and feather light showing much interest in her handler. Well developed in rear and good drive. In front enough depth of chest, straight and fine bone and true hare like feet. Was a wonderful class of lovely exhibits.

3rd J&C.Mowatt Moshu Golden Sunrise Over Iotastar

A very promising young female of just 9 months old. Lovely in outline shape. Dainty and good balance. Eyes medium sized, ears large Well fringed and erect throughout. Level in back with good body length and spring to ribs. Tail carried up and over well plumed. Straight in movement coming and going with enough fine bone. I was delighted to award her Best Puppy In Breed and later watch her gain Toy Puppy Group 4

1st T.Collins Houm Teta Ariette At Collness

Super attentive female of nearly 2 years old. Red sable and white coloured. Lovely outline stance. Very pretty features. Slightly rounded in skull between large flaring ears with plenty fringing. Well defined in stop with good head ratio proportions. Scissor bite with lips thinly tight. Medium rounded in eyes very sparkling. Neck of medium length flowing down a level top line and finishing with her tail set high on, good length and arched over her back with plenty fringing falling to a plume. Fairly long in body with strength in loin, good spring of rib and a slight arched belly. Legs straight and fine in bone with length to hare like feet. Freely moving and light covering ground well. Truly pleased to award her Best Of Breed.

Beautiful young tri coloured female of 2 years old. Very expressive in facial features. Dainty and alert youngster. Slight roundness to skull between ears. Round, sparkling eyes, good muzzle length housing a scissor bite. Definite in stop. Well placed ears well feathered and erect and used throughout. Good in neck length, level in back slightly long in body and well sprung ribs. Good rear angulation straight and fine in bone. In front legs slender but good strong fine bone. Moved with free action and light on her feet.

Lovely feminine girl proudly held her head up throughout. General outline on first view was of a true well proportioned bitch, alert girl who never let her handler down. small feminine head with small erect ears held up and used throughout. sparkling dark eyes giving a soft gentle expression, black pigmentation Throughout. Just enough length in muzzle Housing a scissor bite. Good reach of neck flowing to a level back, compact in body with moderate spring of rib. Good length of tail carried slightly higher then back level. Steel blue with correct shade of tan, Plenty of hair covering and of glossy, fine, silky texture. Straight fine bone in legs, but good muscle tone. I was pleased to award her Best Of Breed and later delighted to watch her take Toy Group 4.

Smart young female, Just one years old. black and white in colour nicely marked. dainty in Profile nice in outline. Fairly broad in head, Nicely feathered small ears, Beautiful dark eye with the typical chin look, Just enough white showing to inner corners. short in muzzle Nicely cushioned. Level in jaw. Nice reach of neck flowing to a level top line, fairly compact in body. Tail carried up and over with profuse feathering. Nice and straight in leg of fine bone. Hare like feet. She moved very well with good reach in front and enough rear action. Very attentive to handler. Pleased to award her Best Of Breed.

A true little pocket rocket, red and white female, just seven months old full of fun. Nicely broad skull ears set wide apart, small and carried forward. Muzzle well cushioned with level underjaw, large eyes with true chin expression. Moderate neck length sloping down a level top line body compactly built slightly widened chest. Tail highly set on back and plumed right over. Still lots of puppy coat of soft texture. Straight in leg with good muscle tone. Good reach in front movement. Very attentive to handler. I was very happy to award her Reserve est Of Breed and Best Puppy In Breed.

Well what a little star this boy was. 1st show at just 6 months old. Tri colour clean smooth coated Puppy very attentive to his handler. Nice in head, domed with good ear set, large with breadth between them and good use throughout. Sparkling dark eyes large and rounded. Still baby teeth but good in bite. Nice reach of neck sloping down a level top line finishing with a nicely held up and over tail set high on. Enough in body length with well spring of rib. In front just enough depth to chest area, straight in leg well set under. In rear again straight and of good muscle. Once got going there was no stopping him. Confidence and attention remained throughout. Super pleased to award him Best Puppy In Breed & Reserve Best Of Breed.

Nicely built in body with good condition. Well sprung in rib, deep in brisket. Enough depth to chest with well laid shoulders in front and straight in leg. In rear straight muscular bone with good turn of stifle. Before and aft he moved very well with rear drive, brisk and forceful in action. Pleased to award him Best Of Breed

Nice bright eyes, definite stop, Nice muzzle length housing a scissor bite. Nice reach of neck, well laid shoulders Lean and straight in front with good chest depth. Nice in body length with a level top line and good spring of rib. Tail held up and over of medium length And good plumage. Muscular in rear with good angulation, nice turn of stifle, Small in feet but strong and held straight. moved very good coming and going pushing from the rear with drive and striding out in front. Very attentive to his handler and did all that was asked of him.

Nice reach of neck, level in top line with tail carried set on high and carried up and over nicely feathered. Beautiful charming youngster just 11 months old fawn in colour with nicely straight soft and clean coat condition. Most prettiest of heads very fine and feminine with expressive large dark eyes which sparkled. Nice typical head, domed with well placed ears large with fringing she used them throughout. definite stop with enough muzzle still a young puppy but good in bite. nicely arched in neck flowing down a level top line continuing to her tail which is high set and carried proudly up and over, nice plumage coming through. Good in body length With nice spring of rib. Straight in leg with fine bone, Dainty feet And light hair covering. She moved very well, light on her feet but with brisk movement. She fought very hard in the challenge for best puppy in breed and I’m sure placings will change on another day in this class. she was very attentive to her handler and enjoyed herself in the ring.

Slightly arched in neck of medium length shoulders well laid supporting straight forequarters, nice depth of chest. Level top line and body of good length well sprung in rib and deep brisket. Muscular in rear, legs straight with good turn of stifle and dainty feet. Fought hard but pleased to award him Best Of Breed

Lovely red and white male attractive appearance good in overall size nicely outlined profile. Typical domed in head with good space between ears. Ears nicely feathered, Erect and used throughout. lovely dark eyes very expressive, rounded and sparkling. good length of muzzle, with definite stop. Nicely arched in neck sloping down to a level top line continuing on to a well feathered tail carried up and over throughout and set on high. Nice length in body with good spring to ribs. In rear, he has nice angulation with good turn of stifle and small dainty feet. In front, he has good depth in fore chest, legs lean, straight and set under chest. He carried himself well throughout with straight, Brisk movement and good drive from behind. Another class I’m sure placing’s can easily change on another day.

Nicely made female of 17 months old. orange in colour overall appearance of a true Pomeranian shape and size. Feminine in head with skull slightly flat, ears small and carried erect, well used throughout. Eyes of medium size and of oval shape. good length of muzzle, typical Pom smile housing a scissor bite. Short in neck and nicely muscled. Short in back, compact body well barrelled and rounded. Nicely straight in front finley boned with shoulders well laid back. Good in rear angulation, fine in bone and straight, small and cat like feet. Tail set high and carried flat and straight over her back with profuse coat fanned out. Nice clean coat with soft under and harsh outer. Very light on the move and very attentive. She enjoyed herself moved with glide and free but brisk full. I was delighted to award her Best Of Breed and later watch her take Toy Group 2.

Well what sweetheart this older chap is. A mature male, 7 years old. shaded sable in colour a well coated boy. Lovely in outline, shape and size. Masculine in head flat on top of skull between well placed ears erect and used throughout. Bright Oval shaped eyes of medium size. Good in muzzle length with black nose. Nicely short in neck placed well into shoulders. Level in back compact in shape well rounded in body. Good depth to chest plenty heart room. Tail carried up and over laying flat and straight over back. Nicely angulated in rear and muscle tone, with fine straight legs and small feet. In front fine straight of just enough to leg length. He moved very well with his handler, took it all in his stride. He was light on his feet with free movement. Pleased to award him Reserve Best Of Breed.

Handsome young male of two years old. Black and white in colour Soft and profusely coated. Small in outline but sturdy with good muscle. Longer than Higher In body length. Broad in skull, slightly rounded with muzzle of good length housing a regular Scissor bite. Very appealing large dark eyes of Oval shape gentle expression and very pretty in features. Black pigment all around. Ears eye level and slightly raised and dropped down with soft silky feathering. Medium length to neck, level in back with a true rise over the loin area. Nice spring to rib and good tuck up. Legs nice and straight and of medium bone, Feet small and tight. Tail set high on and carried over the back beautifully feathered with long silky hair. On the move he almost glided around the ring. Free flowing with a very springy step. Pleased to award him Best of Breed.

2nd J. Fenwick Adorele Dreamed A Dream

Wow what a little beauty this youngster was. Just nine months old red sable young female with beautiful ring presence. On first appearance she showed herself off and owned the ring. Very pretty and feminine in head and features. Nicely broad in skull, moderate in stop and muzzle Just enough in length housing a scissor bite. Black pigmentation Which really stood out. Eyes were large dark almond shaped with a gentle expression. Ears placed nicely just above eye level slightly raised and moderately pointed and dropped down. Neck of good length flowing down a level top line with the rise over the loin area. Good in body length slightly longer in length than height. Tall set high, Profusely feathered with long flowing silky hair. Legs straight and of fairly medium bone with well laid shoulders. Good in Rear angulation, With small tight hare like feet. She moved beautifully around the ring moving straight and level in leg, She really did have a spring in her step today. I was delighted to see her get Toy Group 3 and Puppy Group 1. I watched her in the best in show ring and really could not fault her.
