Puppy (8,1)

1st Hutton-Baber – Esqueen Following Star At Babtonkelpie (Imp Pol) – 11 month old Blue Roan bitch. Well-presented with pleasing outline when stood. Lovely feminine head of good proportions, dark eye with gentle expression, ears set low. Good length to neck set nicely into shoulders. Nice straight front with good bone for her age. Well balanced front and rear, nice compact body. Moved well and held topline. BP – Pleased to hear later awarded Puppy Group 4.

2nd Anderson & Foster – Zakova Sundance Kyd At Sabaloo – 7 month old black dog. Outgoing young puppy with nice head and dark eye. Between coats today so could be mistaken for being overweight from ringside but under that coat is a dog maturing well with good bone, well developed chest, short and firm through the loin, wide and well developed rear quarters. Moved with enthusiasm.

Post Graduate (3,1)

1st Clifford – Wyncastle’s French Quarter Smash With Chamford HJCH (Imp Hun) – 2 year old Blue Roan dog. Presented very well when stacked offering a lovely balanced silhouette. Square muzzle with wide nostrils and good chiselling beneath the eyes. Good length of neck into sloping shoulders. Well boned straight front legs with tight round, well padded feet. Compact body with short loin. Well rounded rear quarters. Moved out well with drive and good tail action. BOB - Pleased to hear later awarded Group 3.

2nd Warrington – Zakova Miss Scarlet – Nearly 2 year old red bitch. Smaller frame than 1 but full of quality. Well proportioned feminine head with gentle expression. Good depth to chest, straight front and tight feet. Short through loin, compact well balanced bitch. A little unsettled on the move today but good drive from rear when settled.

Open (2,1)

1st Pilkington & Ellis – Molkara Faustus At Brimbeck – 5 year old black dog. Pleasing head shape and proportions with gentle eye and well set ears. Well-developed forechest, well boned, good feet. Well balanced throughout with wide rear quarters. Moved out well with drive just the proudness of his tail in the challenge distracted the overall look. RBOB

English Springer Spaniels.

Junior (4,0)

1st Weyman – Spuffing Prosecco – 8 month old liver and white bitch. Feminine head with deep muzzle, good shape to the eyes, nicely set and good length ears. Strong neck of good length into well laid shoulders. Straight front legs with nice compact feet. Good depth of chest and spring of rib for her age. Good length to body giving balanced appearance, good rear angulation. Moved out very well with confidence, displaying front swinging action, a few unsettled moments on the move to remind me she was only a puppy. BP - RBOB

2nd – Dunsdon – Kingsheath Mayday At Seaspring – 11 month old black, white & tan bitch. Very close decision to 1. Well-proportioned head with square muzzle. Good forechest, straight in front with ample bone and good feet. Good spring to ribs in a more compact body than 1. Good rear angulation. Once again showed good movement for a youngster but felt 1 today was a little more effortless moving around then ring, could easily change places I’m sure.

Post Graduate (4,1)

1st Rowlinson – Meltarose Mystique – 2 year old liver, white & tan bitch. Good head with deep muzzle and almond eyes. Deep in chest with good spring of rib. Good rear angulation, well let down hocks. Moved ok but not a positive or free in action as I would like.

2nd Dunsdon – Seaspring Winds Of Change – 9 month old liver, white & tan bitch. Another promising puppy. Good head proportions with kind expression. Straight front with good bone. Ribs starting to spring, strong over loin and good rear angulation. Moved out well, with good front action.
