Durham County Canine Association Premier Open Show 17/07/22

I’d like to thank the society for inviting me to judge Dalmatians at their lovely well run show and the exhibitors who entered their beautiful dogs under me today.

Puppy (1/1)

1, Vockings’ Bellehoud Tipple At Portunes NAF. Pretty 10 month old liver spotted bitch. Evenly decorated on a clear white coat. Nice outline, well balanced for age. Lovely head with correct oval amber eye and scissor bite. She holds her ears well to show off her lovely expression. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, level top-line held on the move, straight front legs down to tight cat-like feet, moved with reach and drive, handled well. BP

Junior (8/6)

1, Chance and Dodds’ Dotlun Apache Inch Perfect. Beautiful 13 month old liver spotted bitch who is so well balanced throughout. Dark liver spots evenly distributed on a nice white coat. Pretty head and expression, her ears are held well to frame her sweet spotty face and dark amber eye. Fair length of neck into well laid shoulders and lovely level topline, her tail is well set and held both standing and on the move. She has a deep chest with plenty of fill in front and well sprung ribs. Moved out well in this class. RBOB

2, Lamb’s Dalpetro Dotty. Pretty 12 month old black spotted bitch with great dark pigment on a clear white coat. lovely head with a sweet expression, dark oval eye and correct scissor bite. Good length of neck which is nicely arched. Well laid shoulders and level topline. Moderate angles front and rear gave a super balanced outline in profile. Good round bone but still remains elegant throughout. Could easily have swapped places with 1 but wasn’t showing her movement to its best today which was unfortunate.

Post Graduate (2/1)

1,  Johnson’s Dvojica Evergreen. Very smart 21 month old black spotted male with a lovely classic outline who really excelled on the move today. Plenty of substance for age, well muscled throughout but not overdone. Evenly decorated with dark black spots on a clear white background. Nice head and expression, ears well set and held nicely, lovely dark oval eye. Good strong neck of good length into well laid shoulders, well defined wither and firm level topline. His elbows are tight to his deep chest which has plenty of heart and lung room in his well sprung ribs. Straight front legs with slight spring in pasterns down to tight cat-like feet. His rear is equipped with everything needed to power around the ring, a lovely width of thigh and well turned stifle. His tail is well set and he holds it nicely on the move. He is so balanced both stood and on the move with an effortless economic stride. Handled well. BOB

1, McAloone’s Perdita’s The Echo Project. Handsome 17 month old black spotted male with plenty of substance. Settled better in this class and it really showed in his movement. Good dark pigment on a clean white base, nice head with broad flat skull, dark oval eye, ears well set and held to frame his face. Correct scissor bite. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders and well defined wither, level topline into correct tailset both held well on the move. Moderate angles front and rear gives him a balanced outline, good straight front down to cat-like feet. nicely muscled throughout. Moved out well, really showed off his reach and drive. Handled well.
