Schnauzer Club Of Great Britain

SCHNAUZER CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN

November 20, 2022

The Schnauzer Club of Great Britain held an open show for the first time in conjunction with their championship show at The Sports Connexion, Ryton-on-Dunsmore. This, to my eyes, seemed a great success, giving exhibitors a chance of two shows to enter at on one day at the same venue & it also gave the Club a chance of getting a better revenue on the day.

A lovely atmosphere around the four rings with exhibitors obviously enjoying a chance to watch all the dogs in their classes and showing support for all.

I was lucky enough to be given a chance to judge the open show & I would like to thank my two good stewards for looking after me & the ring all day. When the three breeds had been judged, I then chose BIS, which went to the Giant, Dasval Little Big Man; RBIS was the Miniature, Dayporium The Conjurer at Jennayr; BPIS was the Miniature, Violis Storm Tracker & BVIS, the Miniature, Nujax School Of Rock.

SCHNAUZERS – V (0). MPD (2) 1 Maiden’s Maestro Alarm Beskyd with Maidluns, well presented youngster who carried a strong topline held set up & moving. Only a baby but head is just right for age, he has enough bone & good feet & forequarters. Needs to drop into himself, but when he settled he moved well, put down with just enough coat but showed promise, I feel he is quality & should finish well. BPD & BP; 2 Lockyer’s Miccosukees Look At Me, solid puppy with plenty of substance, he is well boned & forward for age. Just needs to tighten up to complete picture for he has an excellent head & expression & a good neck into well made shoulders. PD (2) 1 Maestro Alarm B with M; 2 Lockyer’s Miccosukees Apache, close up & very similar type to 2 in MPD. In excellent coat & condition, he has a masculine head & expression, moved well on well boned legs & feet, strong topline & a good loin, again just needs to tighten & mature to complete the picture. JD (2) 1 Toms & Daws’ Miccosukees In Cahoots with Kathalan, when set up completes the picture, in fact he impressed me so much that I could not resist him for RBD, even though he is still very young but he is quality with a good masculine & expression with well placed ears, he was well presented & has a good hard coat, he has a lovely neck & shoulder & he moved well with good head carriage, he is balanced; 2 Clark’s Miccosukees Ice King at Ilashi, he has lots to appeal, this youngster today was not holding his topline set up which spoils the outline but this settled on the move, he was well presented & had a good coat put down in excellent condition, masculine head & expression with a good eye & well set & carried ears, he is a good size & enough bone. PGD (2) 1 Lockyer’s Miccosukees Maestro, a good steady mover with lovely head carriage in profile, he is balanced with a good topline & a well set & carried tail, masculine head & expression, a good harsh coat which was beautifully presented, good neck & shoulders; 2 Sutherland’s Ulreda’s Lemon And Lime, moving away was close behind but profile movement had a good forehand & strength behind to cover the ground well. Set up he is balanced with a good body coat & condition, enough neck & a strong topline. Well set ears but I feel needs more off the head furnishings, good width of skull. OD (2,1a) 1 Dixon’s Elnajjar Dawn Walker, alone but a worthy winner, mature Schnauzer who moved so well, put down in excellent coat & condition, lovely topline & tailset, he has a masculine head & expression.
