DOVER AND DEAL CANINE SOCIETY – 30th October 2022

MICHAEL BLAY (Longbarrow)

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation and their hospitality, and also the exhibitor for taking my decisions with good grace and sportsmanship.

Best in show

Simms – Snowmist’s Ultimatiom (Imp Can) D. Sibe Husk. Super dog, of a medium size and not over exaggerated in any way, fox like head of good shape and size, strong in neck and best of fronts, well off for rib and strong muscular behind, level topline which he held on the move, foot perfect in his placement on the move, really showed he’s a dog for the main ring, super coat on him, couldn’t deny him the win today.

Res Best in Show

Angier, Stacey & Seghezzi – Aus Ch Wynnlake A Drop in the Ocean (AI) (Imp Aus) D. Border Collie. Loved this dog’s presence when he came into the ring, classic shape and size, lovely head and alert expression, good neck and shoulders, tight feet on straight forelegs, liked his topline when stacked, and super hindquarters, well turned stifles and effortless movement, well off for coat. Just unfortunate to come across 1 in such fine form.

Best Puppy in Show

Price – Kierpark Moonlight Shadow Among Silkdance. D. Whippet. Young dog who I judged earlier in the AV stakes classes awarding him best AV puppy, super head shape, good eye and correct ear carriage, strong neck of a good length, well laid back shoulders and straight front legs, tight feet, deep in chest and super shape to topline, well muscled and not over stretched in stacked showing correct bend in stifle, foot perfect on the move showing grace and elegance yet not hiding the underlying power within. Couldn’t deny him BPIS and his stakes and overall Best Puppy stakes.

Res Best Puppy in Show

Wilcox, Rackett & Rackett – Afanleigh Caitlin Rose. B. Hun Viz. Beautiful youngster with loads of potential, classic vizsla head shape, lean and noble, super neck and front, level topline and correct amount of rib for age, good coat with a slight greasy touch, good angulation behind, showing both good drive and straight lines going away and coming towards, super outline when stacked which gave me no hesitation when awarding her RBPIS.

Best Veteran in Show

Barkley – Sh Ch Cherryheath’s Mr Mischief JW ShCM. D. WSS. A real sweety of an oldie, loads of breed type with a super outline when stacked, liked his head and gentle expression, correct front assembly, still muscular through loin and rear, lovely movement about him.
