1ST Annette Blair, Amblairfield Flymaamlewan: A bitch of 7 months of age, extremely pleasing type good clean cut head well proportioned to body, medium sized eye and soft expression, clean neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest with elbows laid back, level topline, broad and powerful hindquarters, moved very well on good feet. Best Puppy.

2ND Mrs P Cox, Cushatlaw Athena: Another pleasing overall of type of bitch of just over 8 months of age. Very well balanced with a good clean head that is feminine. Clean neck into shoulders that are well placed, brisket of good depth, hindquarters well muscled, good bone throughout. Moved soundly.

Junior (5, 4abs)

1ST Mr & Mrs J R & V Mann, Valger Symphony: Very nice bitch of nearly 13 months of age. Typical head, clean neck into shoulders that are well placed, brisket of correct depth, very good hindquarters, on the move I found her to be both sound and with good ground covering movement. Best Of Breed.

1ST Annette Blair, Richtig Rihanna: A bitch of 2½ years of age who presented a very clean and balanced outline when standing. Good head with clean muscular neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest well sprung ribs, deep chest, strong muscular loin, stifles well bent, good bone all through, tight compact feet. Whilst sound and true when moving, her handler did not get the most fluent of movement from her perhaps because of the ring surface. I really loved the type and balance of this bitch.

1ST Mrs P Cox, Cushatlaw Serendipity: A bitch of just over 3 years of age. Feminine head with correct, c clean neck into good forehand assembly, chest deep but for me loin of optimum length, nicely angulated through hindquarters, moved well.

Balanced head, strong neck into well placed shoulders, deep chest strong loin, just let himself down on the move as his litter sister was more settled and accurate when moving out. Quality bone all through.

2ND K & K Bush, Piasharn Demelza: Very smart young bitch of only 9 months, super head and expression, balanced, good bone, tight oval feet, moved and handled very well.

1ST J Radcliffe, Sniperay Edge Of Glory: Outstanding young bitch of 17 months of age. Excellent overall quality. Very good head and skull. Muscular and slightly arched neck. Well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, chest deep, brisket to level with elbows. Short coupled, muscular hindquarters, well turned stifles and hocks well let down, coat short and hard. Super smooth movement covering plenty of ground with driving hind action. Best Of Breed and my pleasure to award her Gundog Group 1.

2ND F Barker, Caithpoint Maia At Flinthill: A mature bitch of almost 2½ years of age. A well-balanced picture. Good head with long muscular neck into well, placed shoulders, good depth of chest, muscular hindquarters, and oval tight feet. Moved well and soundly.

1ST Mr & Mrs M O Calvert, Calvdale Ever Thus: A dog of 9 months of age. Presented an elegant, clean and balanced outline. Excellent breed type, skull of medium length and correctly proportioned, soft expression, ears set moderately low, excellent layback of shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm, body balanced and proportionate, neat feet with short nails. On the move he showed a restrained and controlled ground covering action. My Best Of Breed and Best Puppy In Breed today and it was my pleasure to award him Gundog Puppy Group 1.

1ST Mr & Mrs M O Calvert, Calvdale Scaramouch Jones: This dog was only just over twelve months of age. This dog has a very pleasing and typical head and melting expression, clean neck into very well placed shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm deep brisket, strong hindquarters, moved very well but not as settled as my previous class winner.

1ST H Keay & D Youngson, Treeveville Coastguard (AI): Pleasing puppy dog of 11 months of age. Very well balanced. Super head with a lovely kind expression. Correct layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Deep brisket with elbows placed close to chest and good length of ribcage. Well made hindquarters with excellent super quality bone and feet. Moved well both fore and aft and in side profile on nice feet with short nails. Best Puppy

2ND J Maddison, Jaymardy Sweet Caroline: Quality young bitch of 8 months of age. Super feminine head with a melting expression. Correct layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Deep brisket and good length of ribcage. Well made hindquarters with excellent bone and the very neatest of feet. She moved very well with good open side gait when viewed in profile. In excellent coat but for me and on the day, she was carrying just a little too much weight over her loins.

1ST J Bennett, Gold Totem Ma Belle (IMP RUS): Extremely well balanced bitch of 15 months of age. in super condition and extremely well presented. Super feminine head with the softest of expressions. Clean strong neck into very good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Well ribbed back leading to strong loin of optimum length and well muscled hindquarters and good width of second thigh. Quality bone all through, tight neat feet with short nails. Moved and handled extremely well, accurate both fore and aft and demonstrating and excellent open side gate. Best Of Breed and Gundog Group 4. 

2ND Mr Douglas & Mrs E McGuffie, Milltimber Make My Heart Fly: A bitch of 14 months of age, balanced and very well made all through, super head and expression. Excels in forehand assembly. Level topline. Moderate hind angulation. Excellent bone and feet. Moved accurately both fore and aft.

1ST G Copley, Lalique Lord Of The Rings At Hamcar: Upstanding and masculine dog of almost 2 years of age. Super head and expression. Strongly made all through with very good bone and feet. Good forehand assembly. Very good depth and width to brisket with elbows close to chest, well ribbed back into strong loin. Moved very well once gathered up and settled.

2ND C Wright, Palton Pavarotti: Very striking male of 4½ years of age. A very nice male, different in type to my first placed exhibit but still very pleasing on the eye and extremely well balanced. Very good clean head and eye, muzzle strong, strong neck into good forehand construction with very good depth and width to brisket, well ribbed into loin of optimum length, moderate hindquarters with good width to second thigh, moved well.

1ST Mrs K & Mr A Wallis, Blue Gemstone Katrina: A dog of 4½ years of age. Mature male, very well presented. Well balanced. Masculine head without being coarse or overdone in any way with soft expression. Good layback of shoulder. Well ribbed leading to good bone and feet, moved very well.

2ND P Trotter, Baricia Bella Donna: Pleasing bitch of nearly 3 years of age. Very good overall type. Super head and expression, Excellent fore and hind construction, good width and depth to chest, good quality bone all through, very good on the move in all profiles, disappointingly, would just have preferred a little more ribbed back.

1ST E. Copley, Monchique Imperial Beau At Emmabe, JW, IR JUN CH: A male of approaching 4 years of age. I thought this dog to be extremely well-balanced and symmetrical all through. Masculine but balanced head that is well chiselled with dark eyes. He excels in forehand construction. Deep in brisket and well ribbed with balanced and short-coupled body. Hindquarters that are both strong and muscular. Moved maintaining a level topline at all times and showing good forehand reach and drive from his hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Presented in super condition with full coat. 

2ND Mr Douglas & Mrs Elaine McGuffie, Milltimber Island Mist: A bitch of 8 years of age who was a credit to her owners. Presented in fine condition, nicely balanced, pleasing head with soft expression, appeared a fraction short in neck, well placed shoulders, good width and depth of chest, good bone and feet moved very well.

Medium size, flat skull with nostrils well open, muscular neck into well placed shoulders and elbows close to body, level back, deep chest, moderate hindquarters, moved very well. Best AVNSC Puppy and Puppy Group 4.

1ST J Tait, Talintyre Winter Spice (Irish Red & White Setter): A very pleasing young bitch of just over 2 years of age with her best yet to come. Free from exaggeration, excels in forehand assembly with prominent breastbone. Feminine head and kind expression, dark eyes, ears set level with eyes, correct, clean and complete dentition, clean neck of moderate length with slight arch, deep chest of good width with well sprung ribs, strong hindquarters moderate bend of stifle, moved soundly and well. Beautifully presented.

2ND S Mowbray, Crumbledor Reubus Hagrid (Sussex Spaniel): Pleasing dog of 18 months of age. Bone & musculature well developed throughout. Good shape to skull with a pronounced stop and classical frowning expression. Well placed ears & a lovely enthusiastic attitude. Well ribbed & with a strong back leading to muscular loin; he moved around the ring in a positive fashion from well-placed hocks & strong feet. In very good coat.

3RD J Wood, Chanderhill Eagle Eye (Spanish Water Dog)

1ST J Tait, Talintyre Winter Shadow (Irish Red & White Setter): Male of just over 2 years of age and litter brother to my previous class winner. Striking dog who has so much quality in all areas. Extremely well presented and shown. The template that look for with this breed, he is strong, powerful and yet so refined and athletic. Well balanced clean head with good stop, correctly set ears, Strong neck of moderate neck and slightly arched into excellent shoulder placement and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest of good width and well ribbed back into muscular loin, strong hindquarters and good turn of stifle. On the move and despite the limitations of the ring surface he was accurate both fore, aft and in side profile showing an effortless long gate. Best AVNSC and Gundog Group 2.

2ND S Mowbray, Gainsmill Lilly Luna Potter At Crumbledor (Sussex Spaniel): Young bitch of 2½ years of age. Correct width & balance to skull with pronounced stop and kind biddable expression & eye. Strong neck into well-placed shoulders, sufficient spring of rib, strong topline, well placed hocks. Moved and handled very well.

1ST Mrs N Jackson, Iolanda Di Cascina Croce at Solwaypoint (NAF) (Bracco Italiano): A quality young puppy bitch of 8 months of age. Presented and shown in excellent overall condition - extremely well balanced and free from exaggeration. Super head with lean cheeks and well pronounced occiput. Moderately short neck into excellent forehand assembly. Deep in brisket with good width of chest. Very good hindquarters with good turn of stifle. Correct topline, bone and feet. Moved out well in all planes and profiles. Extremely well handled. 

2ND Mr D & Mrs L Burton, Dreamist Glitter Rock (Cocker Spaniel): An 11 month bitch, very well balanced. Merry nature with tail wagging, pleasing head, expression and eye, ears set low, neck set neatly into well placed shoulders with corresponding return of upper arm, compact body and well rounded hindquarters, nice feet, moved very well.

1ST Mrs K & Mr A Wallis, Lamancha Roll On Good Times (Golden Retriever): I really liked this young male of just 14 months of age in his breed class where he failed to move at anything resembling the correct speed, which sadly set him back in that class. Very good overall construction and balance and free from exaggeration. Good head with requisite chiselling, clean, strong neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest, well ribbed, strong hindquarters, good bone moved accurately both fore, aft and in side profile when asked. I would like to see this dog again once he has matured.

2ND J Wood, Chanderhill Eagle Eye (Spanish Water Dog): A dog of 14 months of age. Showing very good breed type and quality. Good head and eye colour, well placed shoulder, deep chest moderate turn of stifle correct body to height proportions, his excellent construction really came to the fore when he moved, which was both brisk and very sound.

Extremely well balanced dog, good head with square muzzle, full eyes, moderate length of neck into well placed shoulders and adequate return of upper arm, well sprung ribs, short loin, good bend of stifle, presented a lovely picture and moved well.

Pleasing head, not coarse in any way. Strong neck into well placed shoulders deep chest well sprung ribs, well developed musculature on hindquarters, Moved accurately and smoothly both fore, aft and in profile.

1ST A Chandler, Sh Ch Chanangel Sticky Wicket JW, ShCM, VW (Welsh Springer Spaniel): Outstanding exhibit of 11 years of age and who could have guessed his mature years. Elegant both standing and on the move. Lovely head of correctly proportionate length, soft expression, ears set moderately low, correct and complete mouth, good lay of shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm, body balanced and proportionate, tight feet. On the move he showed a ground covering action. I was extremely pleased to learn that this super example of the breed was awarded Best Veteran In Show.

Of wholly black colouration, absolutely beautifully balanced in all areas, short coupled, excellent bone all through, tightest of feet, broad skull and defined stop muzzle of sufficient length to balance with head, good shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, chest of very good depth and width, strong hindquarters and good turn of stifle, classic ‘otter’ tail. Moved extremely well.

3RD Mrs & Miss Maskell & Mrs Rayner, Enjager Harmony With Brownbank (Weimaraner): A bitch of nearly 9 months of age. Balanced, lovely head, moderately long with moderate stop, medium sized eye, strong jaws, strong clean-cut neck into well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest level back, slightly sloping croup, strong but moderately angulated hindquarters. Moved soundly.
