1ST Stilgoe & Oliver, Mr P, Mrs D & Miss M, Teisgol Heaven Sent: A beautifully balanced bitch of 13 months of age. Won this class on type and correct breed movement. Very good head and skull. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Muscular and slightly arched neck. Shoulders well laid back, chest deep, brisket to level with elbows. Short coupled, muscular hindquarters, coat short and hard. Very good feet and short nails. Moved well covering of plenty of ground. RBOB

2ND Stilgoe & Fox, Mr P, Mrs D & Mrs L, Teisgol Snow Queen: I’m assuming litter sister to me class winner. Again, 13 months of age. Another quality exhibit, presented and shown well. Correct and typical breed head. Dentition correct, clean and complete, Eyes correctly placed. Very good clean neck. Well balanced throughout and without exaggeration. Deep chest, short-coupled. Moved very well and soundly in all planes.

1ST Barham, Mrs L J, Droveborough’s Mocha Mayhem: Beautiful bitch of 27 months of age, shown and presented very well. Very good head and skull. Dentition correct, clean and complete, muscular and slightly arched neck. Well placed shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, chest deep, brisket to level with elbows. Short coupled, muscular hindquarters, well turned stifles and hocks well let down, coat short and hard. Super smooth movement covering plenty of ground with driving hind action. BOB

2ND Welch, Maber & Hazeltine, Mrs S, Misses L & C, Sharnphilly Toggi With Hookwood JW: A bitch of 4½ years of age, pleasing head of correct proportions, deep strong muzzle with dentition that was both correct clean and complete. Strong, clean and slightly arched neck into pleasing forehand assembly, deep chest, strong hindquarters, moved soundly if not a little higher than is my preference on forelegs.

Balanced and symmetrical bitch, well muscled throughout, skull of medium length, correct clean and complete dentition, strong neck and forequarters, well sprung ribs, short coupled, strong hindquarters, moved well covering plenty of ground.

2ND Welch & Hazeltine, Mrs S E & Miss C, Pytchley Chasing The Dream For Hookwood JW, ShCM, ShCEx: A male of 5½ years of age. Well muscled throughout, skull of medium length, dentition correct, clean and complete, strong neck and forequarters, well sprung ribs, short coupled, strong hindquarters, moved well covering plenty of ground on the best of feet with short nails.

Compact and balanced all through without exaggeration, very good head, correct dentition, strong neck into well placed shoulders, deep chest, well sprung ribs, muscular hindquarters, moved very well. 2ND Appleton, Mrs J R, Valentisimo’s De Cascada: A 4 year old bitch, of super type and quality all through. Extremely well balanced, the very best of heads typical for the breed, very good forehand assembly, rib well sprung, muscled hindquarters, moved very well. RBOB

2ND Durrant, Mr A F, Mr M & Mrs C J, Glenturret Venus: A very pleasing bitch of 6½ years of age. Presented a clean unexaggerated outline, very nice head and eye, dentition correct, clean neck into good forequarters, very good bone all through, slightly straight in stifle, moved well and soundly.

1ST Walker, Mr S & Mrs W, Dexbenella Double Oh Seven: A male of nearly 12 months of age – what a dog! Beautifully presented and shown. Presented an elegant, stunning, clean and balanced outline. Excellent breed type, skull of medium length and correctly proportioned, that said at this tender age, his head will improve still further. Correct, clean and complete dentition, soft expression, ears set moderately low, excellent layback of shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm, body balanced and proportionate, the tightest of feet with short nails, on the move he showed a ground covering action and correct forehand movement for this breed. Best Puppy, RBOB and my absolute pleasure to award him Gundog Puppy Group 1.

2ND Fugle & Cook, Mrs L & Miss L V, Russell At Cumani (IMP ITA) NAF, TAF: A male of just 7 months of age and so very raw. Showing good proportions, lovely head and expression, good bone, well sprung ribs correct, clean and complete dentition, close straight coat. Moved well.

1ST Walker, Mr S & Mrs W, Dexbenella Double Take: Litter sister to my previous class winner – quite simply beautiful and so feminine. Very well balanced all through, excellent forehand and hind construction, super head with correct clean and complete dentition, good length of neck, quality bone all through, the very best of feet and shortest of nails, moved very well not putting a foot out of place. 

2ND Proctor, Mrs M, Petranella Perfick Bliss: A very pleasing bitch of just over 18 months of age. Good overall type. Pleasing head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition and bite, good forehand assembly, deep chest, strong hindquarters, moved well on tight neat feet with short nails.

1ST Simmons, Mrs C, Dexbenella Frivolity: A well presented bitch of 3 years of age, shown well. Pleasing head of good proportions, foreface of proportionate length to skull, eye of medium size giving kind expression, correct, clean and complete dentition with correct bite, strong neck leading into well placed shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest, muscular loin, broad thighs, stifles and hocks moderately bent. In good coat, moved very well, extending in front. BOB and later short-listed in a very strong Gundog Group.

2ND Crouch, Mrs A, Trimere Timeless With Kassan: A male of 5½ years of age. Presented and shown well. On the stack he looked super and balanced, unfortunately for me, his loin was a little longer than I would prefer. Pleasing head and expression, ears well placed, correct, clean and complete dentition and bite, very good forehand assembly, deep chest, strong and moderate hindquarters, moved well.

1ST Adams, Mrs L, Achouffe Philanderer ShEx (Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer): A male of 3 years of age, whom I have Judged before. So very true to breed type, distinguished in appearance, head of rectangular profile with marked rise over the eyes and moderate stop. Long ears correctly set below the level of the eye. Correct, clean and complete dentition, well muscled neck into well placed shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, correct 10:9 body ratio and well developed and prominent forechest. Well angulated and muscled hind quarters, quality bone all through. Moved very well, both balanced and lively holding topline very well. 2ND Sladden, Mr I, Khyannes Triton At Canemamans (IMP HUN) (Brague D’Auvergne): A male of nearly 4½ years of age. Presented and shown well. Correct head with deep strong muzzle and correct, clean and complete dentition, clean muscular neck into good forehand assembly, deep chest well sprung ribs, muscular hindquarters, moved soundly.

1ST Mayhew & Middleton, C & J, SH CH Arnac Bay Hebe Europe ’22 (Retriever – Chesapeake Bay): The most stunning example of this breed and still only just 4 years of age. I have had the honour and privilege of judging this bitch before at LKA where I awarded her the BCC and BOB. I have extolled her virtues before so I have little to add other than, supremely balanced, the very best of heads, excellent forehand assembly with the very best of shoulders, deep chest, moderate but well muscled hindquarters, excellent feet with short nails. Excellent oily coat texture with good undercoat. It was my absolute pleasure to award her this class and later Gundog Group 1. I was so very pleased to learn that this supreme example of the breed was ultimately awarded RBIS.

2ND Sandiford & Lewis, Mr P, Mrs C A & Miss C, SH CH Hernwood Neptune Sea (Gordon Setter): A male of just over 5 years of age. Excellent overall balance. Typical head with well defined stop and lean cheeks. Long neck leading to well laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Deep chest. Well sprung ribcage. Strong topline with level croup and correctly set on tail. Long stifles with well let down hocks. In excellent coat and condition. His movement was flowing and effortless.

Presented a very nice balanced overall picture, very good head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition and correct bite, clean neck into well shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm, very good bone all through, well ribbed back, moderate hindquarters, very good tight neat feet with short moved very well. 

2ND Rutherford, Ms S, Kincsem Ferrari (Hungarian Vizsla): A bitch of 11 months of age. Lovely lean and moderately wide head with moderate stop. Correct mouth and dentition. Correct forehand assembly, body short, back level, slight tuck up, hindquarters straight with moderate angulation. Correct tail set. Good quality medium bone all through, nice neat feet. Moved soundly.

2ND Fox, Mrs L, Teisgol Calisto Of Dappeline (Portuguesse Pointer): A bitch of 18 months of age, well presented and shown. Good overall balance. Typical head with broad skull, dentition correct, clean and complete. Good depth chest, short broad back with well muscled loin. Muscular hindquarters. Very good bone all through short nails so very sound moved soundly.

She is well balanced with an excellent head and eye. Well-laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Correct depth of brisket and well sprung rib cage. Coat of good texture.

2ND Dymond, Mr B, Qunitana Diamond Dust At Friarsbelle JW (German Shorthaired Pointer): Outstanding example of the breed with quality in all areas and of only 15 months of age. Correct and full dentition. Whilst still along way from his best and the ‘finished article’ once fully mature, he is difficult to fault. 

Extremely well balanced whether on the move or standing and a presence that ensures that he stands out from other dogs. Clean cut head that is neither too light nor too heavy. Correct neck that is muscular, his forehand assembly is of the highest quality, chest is deep but not wide and in proportion to his body. 

Majestic and true on the move both fore, aft and in side profile.

4TH Beecham, Miss D, Crumbledor Albus Dumbledor (Spaniel – Sussex): A male of 2 years of age. Of very good type and overall balance. Good overall substance, bone & muscle. Correct shape & balance to skull with well placed ears and biddable expression. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Coat of good texture. Very good forehand assembly and strong hindquarters. Feet round and well padded with short nails. On the move he demonstrated a determined drive and expertly moved at the correct speed for this breed by his handler – he was also presented to a high standard.

Typical head and expression. Correct bite and dentition. Strong neck into good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, with deep brisket and correct ribcage. Strong topline and well muscled hindquarters. His movement was positive fore and aft and in profile. 

3RD West, Mrs C A, Sheigra Super Secret (Spaniel – Cocker): Well presented bitch of 11 months of age, with strong compact body, square muzzle and well developed skull. Ears set correctly low and level with eyes. Correct and full dentition. Neck of moderate length sloping shoulders, well boned throughout, moved well fore and aft.

RESERVE Bellamy, Mrs P, Miss A, Bochilbarley Goblet Of Fire (Retriever – Flat Coated): A male of 11 months of age, pleasing in overall outline. Correct size for his age with excellent head and soft expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Good reach of neck. Little upright in shoulder. Good depth and width of brisket for his age. Maintains a level topline. Correct rib/loin ratio. Well-made hindquarters. Good bone and feet. Moved very well and accurately for one so young – once settled.
