Dukeries [Notts] Gundog Club

Dukeries Gundog Open Show Saturday 26th February 2022 Judging Critique: GSPs

I would like to thank the Show Committee for inviting me to judge at their show. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the exhibitors for entering. I had a range of stunning dogs to go over and a large number to choose from. It was a pleasure to judge them.

German Shorthaired Pointer:

Puppy:

1. Fayemm Treacle Tart with Winterwell: A lovely solid liver bitch with a super ring presence, especially for one so young. Strongly built but balanced throughout with a good harsh coat. A clearly feminine head with a kind expression, she moved effortlessly with a fluid movement. I was especially pleased when she went on to win BPIS.

2. Quintana Lunar Eclipse: A slighter built bitch than the winner but still well made with good front and rear angulation and good movement.

Junior:

1. Balvenie Eye Candy: A lovely compact, well balanced youngster. Another strong looking, yet clearly feminine bitch. Good coarse and dark coat. Strong, smooth movement, she caught my eye for Reserve BoB.

2. Barkersdream Who Dares Wins: A sweet feminine young bitch with a good front, lovely compact feet and coarse coat. Good on the move.

Post Graduate:

1. Balvenie Eye Candy: as detailed above

2. Winterwell Thatlldo for Desijem JW: Excellent outline when stacked with good angulation front and rear. A very pretty, kind expression and overall feminine bitch who oozes quality. She just did not move as well as 1st on the day.

Open:

1. Fayemm Forever Together: Another quality bitch with an excellent outline when stood and which continued on the move. Excellent front and rear angulation and beautiful head, she was presented in an excellent condition with a good coat. Lovely on the move. BoB and went on to gain G4.

2. Fayemm Sea the Stars: A masculine solid liver dog in good condition. A strong head but not overdone, he held his topline on the move with strong and smooth movement.
