NATIONAL AIREDALE TERRIER ASSOCIATION CLUB OPEN SHOW – 16/10/2022

I would like to thank the Committee and Officers for making me feel so welcome and at ease. Also, to the very efficient steward for the day for ensuring everything ran so smoothly. I felt truly honoured to be given the opportunity to judge at this show.

I would also like to thank the exhibitors for allowing me to go over their dogs. I really enjoyed my day.

1st Lee’s STARGUS ALIBABA: Quality young, but mature, masculine, balanced dog that demanded attention. Very masculine head of good balanced length. The best of expressions with small dark eye and well set ears. Straight front with good shoulder. Strong neck with excellent topline that he maintained on the move. Short-coupled with level back. Good spring and depth of rib. Well set tail. Good angulation. Well muscled. Moved with purpose. Crisp, beautiful coat and condition. A real showman and full of terrier spirit. BD, BIS.

1st Turners’ CRILLEE KING OF COOL: Well made13 month old dog with a lovely outline. Standing he painted a picture. Beautiful lean head of good length and balance. Lovely expression with dark eye and well set ears. Straight front and good shoulder. Good length of neck into level back. Well set tail. Good angulation. In great condition. Full of spirit. He just needs time to mature and settle a little bit.

1st Pickerings' STARGUS ALIDANDINI AT JOLLIVER NAF: Another well made compact young dog. Masculine, well balanced head of good length. Lovely expression with dark eye and well set ears. Straight front. Short back. Well sprung ribs of good depth. Tail on top. Nicely angulated with good muscle. In lovely coat and condition.

Two well made dogs with lots to like about them.

1st Hampton & Hall’s MULIEBRITY WILDERNESS: Quality, balanced, compact dog. Lovely clean, balanced head of good length. Great expression with dark eye and well set ears. Straight front. Strong neck into great topline. Square looking with good spring of rib. Well set tail. Nicely angulated. In great coat and condition. On his toes. To be critical, I would just like a little more of him. RBD

2nd Toulsons’ TOULSYORK SEQUEL: Quality, good sized male with lovely outline. Head of good length and proportions. Dark eye and good expression when using ears. Straight front. Good neck into lovely topline that he maintained on the move. Well set tail. Another one in great coat. I just preferred the head and squareness of 1.

1st Rust’s JOKYL POWER LADY: 8 month old quality puppy bitch, feminine, short-backed. Balanced head of lovely length. Keen expression with well set ears. Straight front. Level topline that she maintained on the move. Good spring of rib. Tail on top. Good angulation. Very composed on the move for one so young. Really nicely presented and handled. BPB & BPIS

Lovely youngsters at different stages of maturity, both not keen to use their ears today.

1st Richardson’s MULIEBRITY RIPPLES WITH AIRECHIEN: 12 month old quality youngster with a great outline. Clean, balanced head of lovely length. Dark eye with lovely expression when she used her ears. Lovely front. Good spring of ribs for age and nice depth. Great topline that she maintained on the move with short level back. Nicely angulated. Tail on top. In lovely condition.

2nd Favell-Raper & Raper’s QUICK FLY MORNING STAR VENUS WITH SHADLIAN (IMP RUS): Feminine, mature-looking 16 month old, short-coupled bitch. Feminine head of nicely balanced length. Nice expression when she used her ears. Straight front. Good reach of neck. Short-backed. Well sprung ribs of good depth. Well set tail. Lots to like about her, I preferred the head of 1 and I just felt she looked a little heavy on the day which spoilt her outline at times on the move.

1st Du Toit’s CRILLEE CARRY ON BABY BE MINE WITH BELLAMUNRO: Compact well made bitch with a lovely outline. Good head of nicely balanced length. Well set ears. Straight front with good shoulders. Good reach of neck into great level topline that she maintained on the move. Well sprung ribs of good depth. Tail on top. Nicely angulated. Hard wiry coat.

2nd Stancius’ AIRE ALPHA HEAVEN’S HARMONY DE AIREDOR (IMP ROM): Another lovely feminine bitch. Lovely head, balanced with good length. Great expression, nice eye and well set ears. Good front. Good topline with level back. Tail on top. In good coat and condition. I just preferred the compact outline of the winner.

2nd Hampton & Hall’s MULIEBRITY SUMMER SUN: Another quality bitch, feminine. Beautiful balanced head of excellent length. Lovely expression from dark eye and well set ears. Straight front. Level back. Good depth of chest. Well set tail. In good coat. I just preferred the outline of 1 on the day.

3rd Richardson’s GLENTOPS NAUGHT BUT NICE

2nd Hampton & Hall’s MULIEBRITY OCEAN BAY: Another feminine well made bitch. Beautiful head, long, lean and well balanced. Great expression with small dark eye and well set ears. Straight front. Lovely level topline. Good depth of rib. Tail on top. In good coat. I preferred the compactness and outline of 1 on the day.
