Spire Toy Dog Society

Spire Toy Dog Society, Open Show, 19th March 2022

Judge: Miss Lucinda Rhodes (Calonlan)

I would like to extend my grateful thanks to the Committee for inviting me to judge at their show and to those who entered under me. I would also like to thank my two ring stewards who were a pleasure to work shortly with.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

Junior Dog or Bitch (1/0)

1st Kilcoyne’s Granasil Crumble, 1 year old, black and tan bitch, very pretty head with expressive eyes, excellent cushioning, well framed ears and lovely dark pigment. Very nice front, with straight legs, good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Good driving, well let down hocks. In beautiful coat with excellent shine and conditioning.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (2/1)

1st Lunt’s Oaktreepark Royal Treasure, 2 year old, Blenheim bitch. Very well marked with a lovely lozenge on her head. Pretty face with dark eyes, good pigment and correct teeth. Well feathered ears. Kept a nice shape throughout, level topline, good body with excellent ribbing and good turn of stifle leading to parallel hocks in the rear. Moved with drive when settled but gave her handler a hard time.

Limit Dog or Bitch (1/0)

1st Lunt’s Oaktreepark Royal Touch, litter sister to the previous class winner, tri colour bitch, of a slimmer frame. Nice head with good markings, correct teeth, nice pigment and pleasant expression. Moved well around the ring, parallel behind and kept a level topline throughout, carried tail well – straight off the back. In good coat.

Open Bitch (3/1)

1st Whitman & Tarabad’s Khatibi Amber Lynne JW, 5 year old ruby bitch, beautiful head with a melting expression and lovely dark eyes and nose. Very expressive ears with excellent feathering. Lovely reach of neck, well laid back shoulders and a straight front. Level topline throughout. Good rear with well let down hocks, parallel behind when settled. Coat in gleaming ruby red condition. Clear winner for me on the day and awarded BOB.

2nd Lunt’s Oaktreepark Magic Skye, 2 year old Blenheim bitch, larger build than the others from this kennel but very well constructed. Level topline throughout, moved with drive, parallel behind, level tailset and good reach at the front. Very expressive eyes with a lovely expression, well feathered eyes, good pigment, nice markings and in good coat.
