Thank you very much to the committee for inviting me to Judge Chihuahua’s at your show and to both my stewards for keeping the ring running smoothly and to a timely manner. It was the most enjoyable day and lovely to see such great comradery and sportsmanship between fellow exhibitors. Much appreciation and thanks to all who entered and allowing me to appraise your lovely dogs, it was a pleasure to go over them and I was delighted with my main winners. A special thank you to the Smooth Coat Chihuahua Club for their supported entry for BOB & BPIB in Smooth Coats.

Chihuahua L/C Puppy (4/4)  

1: HUNT, MRS, S MOLTOBELLO ICE PRINCESS 

A cream girl of eight months with a confident outgoing disposition, well-schooled and full of maturity for her age with a nicely furnished and soft textured coat. Took my eye for her shapely frame and great outline. Head developing nicely with good breadth between ears, set correctly. Dark eye set well apart, moderate muzzle with good dentition. Ample arch of neck, level top line leading to a correct sickle tail which was the showpiece on this dog and the best of the day. Well bodied with good bone, muscular hindquarters set well apart, good turn of stifle and hocks well let down. Impressed in profile moving sound and true. BPIB.   

2: TODD-McCOID, MR, N, MRS, L RUBYANLO MAGIC TRIX  

An attractive and pretty youngster of eight months full of breed type. Classic Chi head developing correctly, large well placed and fringed ears, good stop, dark liquid eyes set well apart. Good pigment. Tapered muzzle with saucy expression and good dentition. Good reach of neck into level top line. Nice sickle tail used well with developing plume. Straight front with neat feet, good bone. Another with good set and angulation to rear, moved soundly and well. Her full potential will come with maturity.   

Chihuahua L/C Junior (2/3)  

1: TODD-McCOID, MR, N, MRS, L TORRE DEL PILAR BRING ME SUNSHINE FOR RUBYANLO  

A 16-month-old cream dog compact and balanced in structure. Lovely broad skull, good dome and stop. Eyes of good size and well set, decent muscle length and correct dentition. Full in chest with level top line, good tail carriage held on the move. Today lacked a little confidence but moved freely fore-and-aft.  

2: WILLS, P, A DORENTYS CHUCKLEBERRY FIN  

A 9-month-old black and white parti-coloured girl. Lovely soft flat coat with ample feathering for her age. Well-rounded skull, correct ears and eye set. Moderate muzzle with a nicely tapered shape. Good feathering and plumage to tail. Good substance and bone, attentive to handler. A young lady who needs a little more time to gain in confidence.  

Chihuahua L/C Post Graduate (4/8)  

1: ENTWISTLE, D DORENTYS FANCY THAT JW   

A glamorous 4-year-old fawn sable girl well-schooled and handled, full of breed type with a lovely expression. Typical head type without exaggeration, correct ears with good stop and large dark liquid eyes. Excellent pigment. Tapering muzzle with strong chin and correct dentition. Good length and ruff at neck, level top line, correct tail held well. Straight front set well under, slightly higher on leg with finer bone. Good depth and spring of rib, balanced in outline and shape, swift movement around the ring with presence. Pushed hard in challenge.  

2: HOLLAND-SMITH, MRS, S DIAMONCHI STAR OF THE SHOW FOR KIRDANCHI  

A 2-year-old cream girl, in beautiful coat with a silky condition and ample fringing. Well-rounded apple dome skull, good breadth between ears, good dark eye, lean cheeks and tapered muzzle. Moderate length of neck, carried a firm top line with good spring to ribs. Correct tail carriage. Nicely bodied, good turn of stifle, showed and moved well. Just preferred balance and outline of first.

1: HOLLAND-SMITH, MRS, S CHIHOHIT FAVORITE ONLY YOU FOR KIRDANCHI  

A cream boy of one year and nine months who was well schooled and full of character, set down in beautiful condition. Super head attributes, good typical ears, well define stop and large dark lustrous eyes. Dark pigment. Correct length of muzzle with lean cheeks and jaw. Moderate length of neck with ruff into level top line, tail carried proudly with full plumage. Full chest, well laid shoulders, straight forefront, neat feet and good turn of stifle. Muscular hindquarters set well apart. Moved out with good reach at the forehand and strong drive from the rear. Stands to attention Foursquare, well-constructed presenting a lovely picture. Very pleased to award him BOB and see him take Best In Show Group 4.  

2: WILLS, P, A CH DORENTYS MYBOYCLYDE  

A two-and-a-half-year-old masculine boy, smartly put together with a soft textured wavy coat. Large well-defined head, deep stop, large round dark eyes with rich pigmented eye rims and Leathers. Ears set well with fringing, large ruff on neck leading into spirit level top line and correct tail carriage with full plumage. Moved out well fourth and back, good in profile. Today just preferred the aplomb and precision of first.

1: MASSEY, N MOLTOBELLO ONCE IN A BLU MOON AT ALDERXENA  

A 7-month-old blue fawn alert little girl with a happy gay spirit, moves and shows well with confidence for her age. Happy to be handled on the table, attentive to handler. Her coat is smooth, close and glossy, she is well presented in lovely condition. Good breadth between ears, set as required and used to her advantage. Dark eyes well set, moderate tapered muzzle, correct dentition and dark pigment. Good reach of neck into nice top line, sickle tail carried correctly. Finer boned, straight forelegs, neat feet and well-turned stifle. Lovely baby needs time to mature.   

2: STADING, L STADMEYER ARAMIS  

A 7-month-old cream boy well-presented starting to find his feet in the ring, good temperament although a little shy at times. Lovely typical head type developing nicely, good dark round eyes correctly set, good breadth between well set large ears. Correct muzzle, good chin. Moderate neck, nice top line and tail of medium length. Front and chest developing, good rear movement and turn of stifle. Came close to first for different reasons, the confidence of the first swayed it today.

1: HUNT, S MOLTOBELLO BOOTYLICIOUS  

An 18-month-old fawn girl, a pleasing and nice exhibit all-round who showed well throughout. A nice head study with a definite stop and large dark eye set well apart, correct ear set, dark pigment, tapered muzzle with good dentition and a lovely, sweet expression. Moderate neck falling into spirit level top line, correct tail set carried well at all times. Enough forechest, balance hindquarters, good turn of stifle and hocks well let down. Moved well around the ring with reach and drive.  

2: STADING, L STADMEYER ALICE  

A blue fawn 9-month-old youngster set down in good condition, well boned and bodied and up to size but not course. Large ears set on an apple dome skull forming correctly, dark round eyes, liked her nicely tapered muzzle and expression. Correct length of neck with level top line, for me slightly long in body. On the move correct tail carriage, just lacks confidence at times and drops tail on the stand. For one so young went around the ring well, attentive to handler.  

Chihuahua S/C Open (4/4)  

1: HUNT, S, MOLTOBELLO IM SEXY AND I NO IT  

A fawn male of 21 months who was smartly put together and strong in breed type. Excellent head attributes and the showpiece on this dog, large flaring ears set on correctly, Broad skull, good dome and stop. Dark liquid eyes set well apart and inline. Correctly tapered muzzle, good dentition, lean jaw and strong defined chin giving an intelligent saucy expression. Ample arch of neck, excellent top line, tail carried correctly animated on the move. Straight forefront, elbows set well under, good length of upper arm. Well sprung ribs and deep brisket, ample bone. Covered the ring with style and moved well in all directions. Pleased to award him BOB.  

2: HUNT, S MOLTOBELLO IM HOT YOUR NOT  

Another male of 21 months of similar breed type to first. Appropriately balanced in outline and shape. Apple dome head, good large eye set well apart, decent muzzle and dark pigment, would benefit from using his ears more. Spirit level top line, tail well carried when on the move. Straight forelegs, tidy neat feet and ample bone. Moved feely with swift movement in typical Chi fashion. I preferred the head attributes of the first.

STADING, L, STADMEYER DASHING DEXTER  

A nine-month-old red boy, maturely developed for his age. Lovely typical head type, dark round eye, ears flared and well carried, good stop and deep pigment. Moderate tapering muzzle giving lovely expression, good dentition. Ample neck, level top line and good tail carriage. Good forefront, neat feet and chest developing nicely. Moved out and back well with confidence. A promising puppy whose maturity gave him the edge today. Lindsey Anderson (LUMANATII).
