I would like to thank the committee for their kind invitation for me to judge at their show today, and also to my extremely competent stewards. I had a lovely day.

Having judged the classes inside, we decided to take the groups outside into the sun, but looks were deceiving and it was very cold so I appreciate the handler’s patience.

AVNSC Gundog

Puppy 5 (1)

1st Goode Mr M & Mrs K Viljetun’s Viking Sigured (imp Nor) at Brackenvale NAF (Bracco Italiano)

What a lovely start to the day, this very smart white with orange 7 month old baby was a sight to behold, from his masculine head to the end of his tail. Moderate neck into well placed shoulders. Good depth to body and spring of rib for his age. Straight well boned legs and tight well arched feet. He moved out so well in all directions. I am sure he will have a bright future. Happy to award him BP and later PG2 in a strong puppy group.

2nd Watts Miss K Oakleaf Manor Bay of Makmarsh (Imp Deu) (Retriever Chesapeake Bay)

Sweet bitch of 9 months, feminine balanced head with eye of good colour. Moderate length of neck, just needs to body up a bit to complete the picture, she has good width of thigh and well turned stifles, she moved out well.

Another lovely puppy from this kennel at 11 months this bitch makes a lovely shape standing pretty head with a lovely soft expression, correct body proportions, strong straight forelegs, good depth of body well muscled rear quarters. She moved well in all directions.

2nd Macbain & Brewer Miss A & Ms D Fecimus On The Road Again (Spaniel Field)

Sweet headed bitch with a lovely soft expression, good length of neck, body of good depth with well sprung ribs, rear quarters well muscled with well turned stifle and neat feet, moved well.

1st Pont Miss C A Sh Ch Penrose Hash Brown (Retriever Chesapeake Bay)

Lovely bitch pretty feminine balanced head, with eye colour matching her coat, good length of neck, straight front with good depth to body and well sprung ribs. Hind quarters well muscled which aided her effortless movement. A worthy Sh Ch and I was happy to award her B AVNSC

2nd Watts Miss K Sh Ch Oakmarsh Chestnut (Retriever Chesapeake Bay)

Another worthy Sh Ch handled today by a young handler who did a very good job. Different type to 1 head is balanced with correct eye colour, good length of neck, firm deep body, with slight dip in topline and well developed hind quarters. Moved well.

1st Moore Mr AJ & Mrs KS Achouffe’s Summer Magic at Cavalmist NAF (Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer)

This was a new breed for me having never judged one before, and I was pleasantly surprised with this baby. At just 8 month, she has a lovely outline when stacked giving her the required 10-8 ratio. She has a pretty head with an intelligent expression, good length of neck, into well laid shoulders. She holds her top line well, has enough depth and good ribs. She’s a little loose still in movement, but as she matures this will improve I’m sure. BP Import and was pleased to award her Puppy G3.

1st James Mrs KA Sh Ch Onostricani Fiorella JW ShCM ShCEx (Italian Spinone)

Wow! This rising 8 year old bitch pulled out all the stops today. Just loved her head with the kindest of expressions, which was balanced with good depth to muzzle. She has strength through body with good angulation front and rear. She moved so well with her free and easy stile covering plenty of ground and that took her to the top spot.

2nd Dunn Miss D Meadpoint Spirit of Love JW ShCM (Pointer)

This lovely bitch of almost 8 years has a good head and eye, when stacked she makes the required ‘series of graceful curves. Good length of neck, well angled front and rear with lovely turn of stifle. She moved so well in profile and with great extension in front.

I’d like to thank the breed judges for sending through some lovely dogs for my decision today.

G1 Hodgkinson-& Fredfikson-Sinkovic Dr K & Ms M Sorrazo Quest for Success (Imp Hrv) NAF (Spanish Water Dog)

My star of the day, he is quality all through and only 10 months!, head of correct proportions, with eye colour toning with coat. Body strong with good depth and good angulation. He stole my heart when he moved, he was so actuate fore and aft and his profile I could watch all day. I later gave him PG1 and watched him take BPIS4, I am sure he will have a bright future.

Lovely Buff male of 14 months, lovely head and eye, well balanced, moving well in all direction. Shown in great coat and condtion.

G3 Walkling & Sidle Mr R F Miss A C & Mrs A G (Pointer)

Striking male, with his ‘look at me’ attitude, has a lovely outline and moves so well. He deserved his place is this strong group.

G4 Monaghan Mr P & Mrs HD Tweedsmure She;s So Sheek (Spaniel Clumber)

I was impressed with this lovely girl, she has strength all through but remains feminine. Her effortless movement won her, her place here today.

Gundog Puppy Group

This was a very strong puppy group, where some nice youngsters which had to go unplaced today, but their day will come.

What a lovely puppy this young man is, with his soft expression and good body proportions, he moved well and his rich red jacket was gleaming in the late afternoon sun, he showed well to win his place in this lovely puppy group, one to watch.
