Yeovil & District Canine Society

Thank you to Yeovil and District for inviting me to judge and all of the handlers who entered. I was very pleased with the standard of handling in these classes. Each class was a high standard and made for some very hard decisions!

1st & Best Junior Handler - Kian Whitelock

An absolute pleasure to watch this partnership, always ready to reassure his dog. Fantastic pattern work, his triangles were lovely and made sure to always use all the ring to get the best out of his dog. He was always watching where I was to ensure he did not get between my view of the dog. Stacked his dog and showed the teeth beautifully, this is a handler to watch!

2nd - Texas-Lee Dunstone.

Sympathetic handler with a distracted dog, worked hard to bring the dogs focus back to her and had some very lovely moments on their pattern work, she showed the dogs teeth with ease and just needs to remember to straighten her triangles lines and will be away.

3rd – Molly Whisker.

Much to like with some great tablework with a fantastic job of showing the teeth. Just need to remember to keep the dog on your left side, very lovely handling with beautifully straight lines.

1st Elayna Mitchell

Lovely handler with an excitable dog, fantastic pattern work and canine knowledge and worked hard to settle her dog for some lovely moments. Just take your time and don’t worry about restarting or stopping to settle your dog, if you need it, already in the challenge it had settled more. Some promising moments came through with this partnership. Lovely combination.

1st Rhianne Mitchell

Sympathetic handler with an excitable dog, who worked well to get the best out of her dog under the circumstances. Some great pattern work and canine knowledge, just need to ensure that they come back to the judge each time. Really came together in the challenge when the dog was much more settled, was lovely to see them come together – very close contender for that Adult/Overall prize, just needed a little more consistency today.

1st, Best Adult Handler & Overall Best Handler - Marguerite McShane

This was a beautiful partnership, very fluent and effortless in their patterns and table work with good canine knowledge. Always returning to me with straight lines and used the ring to its full advantage. Was a pleasure to award this pair Best Adult Handler and the Overall award.

2nd Ann Marie-Taylor

Beautiful dog who was very in tune with its handler. She showed their dog off beautifully and ensured to use the ring to her benefit - great canine knowledge. Very close to 1st all that came down to it between them was just the fluency in their patterns, but it was very close.

3rd Viv Waycott

Lovely combination, I think this dog knew exactly what it was doing – so happy to just be with its handler! Just losing some straightness on the lines, and make sure to start patterns from the judge – great canine knowledge.

4th Iona Forge

Excellent use of the ring with accurate patterns, and straightness. Fantastic placing of the dog and always ensured that I was always between her and the dog.
