Larkhall and District Canine Society Open Show 02nd July 2022

Many thanks to the ring stewards for keeping everything running smoothly and to the committee for such an enjoyable show.

Weimaraner PG (2,0) 1st Sayer and Wallwork’s Braefell Bumblebee 2yr bitch.  Balanced stood and on the move.  Feminine in the head with correct ear and eye set.  I liked the flowing lines of her neck into well angulated shoulders balanced by her very good rear angulation.  Nice depth of chest and well sprung ribs.  Very nice on the move using her front and rear angulation to her advantage, would have preferred just a tad more animation however.  BOB 2nd Maclaine and Richard Dickson Greyspirit Mystique CPW22 1yr bitch.  A beautiful feminine bitch who was enjoying herself.  Lovely head, chest still to drop.  Front and rear balanced angulation.  Erratic on the move but I am sure will tighten as she matures, should come on well.  I liked her very much, just lacked the maturity of the class winner. O (3,1) 1st McMahon’s Silverklein Jupiter over Magdala CW22 4yr dog. Good head and strength of neck, leading to angulated shoulders.  Super depth of chest and spring of rib.  A little unbalanced on the move especially at the rear. 2nd Maclaine and Richard Dickson Greyspirit Mystique CPW22 Golden Retriever J (4,3) 1st Hill and Smiths Megarvey Déjà vu 11mth bitch.  Such a super puppy, lots  to like and should have a good future.   Pretty head, lovely neck into good front angulation.  Nice depth of chest for one so young.  Good rear angulation which she used on the move to create drive.  Shown in beautiful condition. PG (6,1) 1st Purdie’s Dunnybrae Tickety Boo 18mth bitch.  Pretty bitch both stood and on the move.  Very balanced all round with lovely front and rear angulation.  Super head. Well sprung ribs, short coupled and strong over the loin. The strongest mover in the class.  Should have a good future. 2nd 1st Hill and Smiths Megarvey Déjà vu Limit (3,2) 1st Wallis’ Blue Gemstone Katrina 3yr bitch.  So much to like with this bitch from her beautiful feminine head, balanced front and rear angulation, especially her lay of shoulder, strong topline and muscular over the loin, short coupled.   Lovely coat and condition.  Strong on the move, on the odd stride can be a little loose in front. BOB Open (3,0) 1st Purdie’s Megarvey Itty Bitty Boo JW.  5yr bitch.  Slightly smaller stature.  Pretty head, lovely neck leading to balanced front and rear angulation.  Good depth of chest. Lovely topline, strong in the loin and short coupled.  Very close decision for BOB.  Not surprised to see she is the dam of the junior winner.  Very similar qualities. 2nd Oneill’s Thornywait Color Me Red 8yr bitch.  A super veteran not showing her age at all.  A longer cast bitch than the winner.  Lovely head, balanced front and rear angulation used well on the move. Chest needs to deepen.  Short coupled and strong over the loin. A little loose on the move but is still a puppy, moved with reach and drive though. L (4,1) 1st Scrimgeour Velvetine Willow 2yr bitch.  Super all round balanced bitch both stood and on the move.  Good in the head and eye, strong neck to well angulated shoulders, balanced by a good turn of stifle.  Chest down, well sprung ribs.  Short coupled and strong loin.  Show in lovely condition.  Very strong and balanced on the move.  BOB and Grp3 2nd Burns Bonnieburns Brown Eyed Girl 15mth bitch – another lovely bitch, just not the maturity of 1 but very similar qualities.  O (3,1) 1st Burns Bonnieburns Born Free 2yr bitch.  Another good bitch.  Balanced stood and on the move.  Good front and rear angulation, deep in the chest and short coupled.  Rear drive and front reach on the move.  I would prefer her to a tad more length to her muzzle. 2nd Scrimgeour Velvetine The Bride 5yr bitch.  Heavier set than the winner. Super head.  Liked her front and rear angulation.  Not quite as balanced on the move. Gordon Setter PG (3,2) 1st Hogg’s Gailiech Ngalyod 18mth dog.  What a super youngster.  A very handsome dog who just needs to mature.  Such a lovely mover for one so young.  Liked his head of good depth, dark eye.  His chest needs to drop.  Good arch to his neck leading to well laid shoulders.  His front pasterns need to strengthen. Shown in beautiful coat and condition.  O (3,1) 1st Miller’s Yennadon Calvay JW 3yr dog.  A lovely class of good Gordon Setters, both of whom had similar qualities.  Loved this all masculine dog, super head of good depth, muscular arched neck flowing into wonderful front angulation with excellent length of upper arm.  Chest of good depth, strong in his topline stood and on the move.  Good turn of stifle. Shown in lovely coat and good muscular condition.  On the move he presented a flowing outline of power and grace. Chest needs to deepen.  Stifle ok.  Erratic on the move but expected for his age. 2nd Wallace and Rossiters Feldkirk Desert Gold. 3yr bitch.  Feminine bitch.  I preferred her angulation than 1 but needs more bone and substance.  Not quite so strong on the move.
