Maghull & Merseyside Canine Society – 4.12.22

Thank you to the Secretary and committee for my invitation to judge Labradors. Thank you also to the exhibitors for your entries and accepting my placings. My stewards Elizabet and Grant worked very well together and kept the ring moving at good pace.

Labrador Critiques

Puppy 8 (2A)

1 McGill’s Deniangill Almost Had It All – Yellow 8 month old bitch, good eye colour, feminine head used her ears well. Good bone with tight neat feet, short coupled and balanced in body. In good double coat which showed especially on the otter tail. Attentive to handler and moved well, outline flowed when standing and took my eye the first time I saw her in the ring. I shall watch her progress with interest. BP

2 Proctor’s Lejie Sugar Almond at Penkaric – Yellow 9 month old bitch, another nice puppy. Good eye colour and kind expression, a longer reach of neck than 1 but flowed into a balanced outline. Enough bone and tight feet, good tail and moved well.

Junior 6 (2A)

1 Baron’s Landebec Crazy in Love – Yellow 16 month old bitch, a kind expression with good eye colour and good pigmentation. Enough bone with neat feet and overall showing a balanced outline. Up to height with good coat and moved around the ring well.

2 Hughes’ Cinders Salty Sea – Black 15 month old dog, masculine head for his age, nice eye colour. Correct angulations which showed in the movement. In good coat, balanced overall shape with a good topline.

Post Graduate 6 (2A)

1 Percival’s Wynfaul New Years Eve JW – Black 22 month old bitch, good eye colour

and kind expression. Good neck leading into well placed shoulders, good proportions which showed in a balanced clean outline. In good coat, good otter tail and neat feet. The best mover today and showed well. BOB

2 Gower’s Aughtonchase Honey pie – Yellow 3 year old bitch, nice head and kind

expression with good pigmentation. Good angulations and in good coat. Moved well once settled, would prefer to see shorter nails.

Open 12 (1A)

1 Baron’s Mariank Vanity Fair at Landebec – Yellow 4 year old bitch, kind expression and good eye colour. Good angles with enough bone and neat feet. Good depth of rib and shows a level topline with good tail set. In good coat and moved well. RBOB

2 Percival’s Wynfaul Dancing Flame JW – Yellow 2.5 year old bitch, good eye colour and kind expression. Good angulation and flowing outline. Blowing coat today but moved well.
