Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington

I would like to thank the officers and committee for a lovely day spent with the Southern Irish Terrier Society, judging the Christmas Limit Show 2022. A very friendly show, and I was made to feel very welcome by all. I had some super dogs to judge, so a huge Thank You to the exhibitors for affording me the pleasure of your lovely dogs on this chilly December day.

Beginners Dog/Bitch (1,0)

1. Mr & Mrs Dodd - Kenzduo Simply Brilliant

Lively and enthusiastic 9 month old dog, when not doing the impression of a kangaroo, he holds a very shapely outline. He is of a pleasing size, with a nice amount of substance. Good length to the head, with a flat skull, well shaped dark eye, with a keen expression. Holds a firm topline, with a well set on tail. Strong hindquarters, which he used to bounce well, so unfortunately difficult to assess his movement today. Shown with a good jacket

Veteran Dog/Bitch (6,0)

Super class of veterans, all a real credit to their owners

1. Mr & Mrs Nevill - Rosemonelle Isabella

A bitch who is looking in fine fettle for her nearly 12 years. Holding her outline well when stacked to present a balanced picture. Feminine and proportionate head, with a good length to the foreface, dark well shaped eyes, and neat ears, Enough neck, a fraction heavier over the shoulder, good depth to the brisket, firm level topline, nicely angulated hindquarters. Moving out soundly in all directions. Well presented jacket with a harsh texture BVIS

2. Mr & Mrs Atkin - Gengis Khan

Super 8 year old dog, having a most appealing graceful outline when stood giving a shapely racy appearance. He has a pleasing head shape, with a nice flat skull and with good length, not tending to use his ears today. Good length of neck flowing into a firm topline and well set on tail. Chest well let down, and well ribbed up. Moderate hindquarters. Not as precise on the move as winner today. Good harsh jacket. RBVIS

3. Mr Shortman - Edmunds Chap

 Puppy Dog (2,0)

1. Mrs Cook - Montelle Follow A Star To Lionwood

At only 10 month old this young dog was my ‘star’ of the day. He is all male, full of quality with good substance, but in no way overdone, his outline is racy and shapely. Loved his lively and fun temperament. Having a well balanced head piece, long, with a flat skull, small v shaped ears with the correct amount of lift falling neatly close to the cheek. His dark eyes have a hint of mischief. Clean neck of good length flowing seamlessly into a firm level topline. Brisket is down to the elbow with the ribs showing a nice amount of spring to them. Nice fill in of forechest, well boned straight forelegs onto tight round feet. Liked his hindquarters as they show a good width of thigh and nice bend to the stifle. He is short hock to heel allowing him to drive around the ring whilst holding his outline. Presented in with a harsh jacket – BD & BIS

2. Mr & Mrs Dodd - Kenzduo Simply Brilliant

Repeat SB

Junior Dog (2,0)

1. Mr & Mrs Oliver - Rufous Guldoeen Of Cleeve

Impressive outline on this 12 month old dog, very smart and racy all through. Liked his typical outline and balanced construction, he showed himself off with confidence to make his presence known. Having a balanced head with a good length to the foreface, flat skull, dark inquisitive eyes and well placed ears. Good length of neck with a slight crest, lovely firm topline and well set on tail. Enough depth to the brisket, with ribs carried well back. Showing strength in his hindquarters. Works well with his handler to show his clean and true movement. Coat of good texture and well turned out - RBD

2. Miss A Bradley - This Way To Montelle

Really liked this 14 month old cheeky chap, full of spirit and fun. He combines the raciness with good substance and his graceful body line give a pleasing outline. Loved his head piece, long with strength yet narrow, well placed and used ears, and dark mischievous eyes. Good neck into well laid shoulders, clean straight front. Nicely ribbed body and strong hindquarters. Today decided to play the fool so lost out on his movement, as he lost his topline and not as clean in his front action, super drive from the rear. Well presented in good coat
