Mansfield & District Canine Society (03/04/2022)

Many thanks to the committee for inviting me and to the exhibitors for your entries today.

Bracco Italiano Puppy (3,2)

1) Palmer’s, Talyfan Sweet Envy. This 8 month old chestnut bitch is very raw and needs time to develop further in all departments. Head is of good proportions but currently a shade broad in skull with well set ears with good sized leathers. Balanced angulation both fore/aft. Needs to body up with a good topline. Lovely feet and correctly set on tail. She should develop more confidence with ring experience, moved with ease but needs to tighten up with age. BPIB, congratulations!

Bracco Italiano Junior (3,2)

1) Sladden’s, Bushwacker Dangerous Dave at Canemamans. A typy 17 month old orange dog. Liked his lean head of correct proportions, showing obvious divergence with a big nose. Short-backed with a strong topline, just needing to body up with maturity. Good angulation fore/aft. Moves steady going/coming with an easy side gait. RBOB, congratulations!

Bracco Italiano Post Graduate (2,1)

1) Sladden’s, Bushwacker Dangerous Dave at Canemamans. Winner of junior.

Bracco Italiano Open (2,1)

1) Sladden’s, Ebano Dell’oltresavio at Canemamans (Imp Ita). An easy winner today for overall breed type and balance. Head is masculine with desired leanness through skull showing correct divergence. Correctly set ears with well sized leathers and a big nose. Excellent balance of fore/rear angulation. Well bodied up with good spring of rib, strong back and short loin. On the move he showed precision both away/back with such an easy, ground covering side gait. BOB, congratulations!

Italian Spinone Junior (3,2)

1) Wain & Kelly’s, Talpalupo Lazzaro at Lajatico. A well grown, 11 month old dog. Head is good proportions with a big spongy nose but needs to develop a shade more breadth right through. His angulation both fore/aft is balanced with correct topline. Well-boned limbs with good feet and firm hocks. In good coat with thick skin. Showed precise action going/coming for a baby, covering plenty of ground from the side with such a lovely tick tock tail action. Just needs to develop his middle piece, but he has time on his side. BPIB, congratulations!

Italian Spinone Post Graduate (3,1)

1) Turner’s, Ilsolo Work From Home. Carrying a bit too much weight today but I preferred the overall squareness and shape of this brown bitch. Her head could be a shade longer in skull and muzzle, correct stop and big spongy nose. Her angulation both fore/aft was good. Correct topline with thick skin and excellent coat texture. Easy on the move from all angles with a nice tail action.

2) Culling’s, Lucoru Fairy Tale Of New York. This male has an excellent head with plenty of length to skull and muzzle, showing correct divergence. He shows a decent balance of angulation front/rear but is a shade longer than square. Plenty of body with a strong topline. Steady on the move when viewed from any angle.

Italian Spinone Open (4,0)

1) Wagh’s, Prottino Del Vera by Dewdhala. Really liked the overall type and balance of this 5 year old bitch. She has strong bone for her size and is presented in excellent coat with thick skin. Ultra-feminine head with the desired leanness in her skull and good divergence. Best balance of angulation in fore and hindquarters. Mature body with well sprung ribs, correct length of leg and decent topline. Showing a steady action both going/coming with an easy side gait while retaining her shape and using her tail. BOB, congratulations!

2) James’, Inostricani Flanna. A much younger bitch but also presents a pleasing picture for type. Head is well proportioned with good divergence but needs to develop with maturity. Good forehand assembly with correct topline and plenty of body. Well angulated rear with firm hocks. True both going/coming and covers the ground well when viewed from the side. RBOB, congratulations!

3) Turner’s, Osulf Pecan Pie.
