Pharaoh Hound Club

Pharaoh Hound Club Open Show
2nd October 2022

I would like to thank the Club for this appointment and all the exhibitors that entered under me.  Such a shame there were no puppies entered for the show even though there was a couple there on the day.  All dogs were presented in excellent order and temperaments were good.  The Best Dog and Best Bitch made my job of choosing Best in Show so very hard as they are both superb examples of the breed.

SP Veteran 7-9 years 2 entries

1st  Morris’s Ch Annatefkah Anharbn.

9 year old bitch not showing her age at all.  Blunt wedge shape head, ear set correct and they were well used.  Lovely neck flowing into correctly angulated front end. Level top line carried well on the move.  Good rear angulation.  Moved with drive and purpose – she was enjoying her day.  Pleased to award her Res Best Bitch and Best Veteran in Show.

2nd  Dawson’s Ch Kurriera Orlando at Lyncris.

8 year old male and a worthy Champion.  Lovely head with mobile ears.  Correct front and rear angulation which enabled him to move well.  Level top line which was held on the move.  Another day these 2 could easily change places.

Sp Veteran 10 +  2entries

Two lovely old ladies that are still looking good for their age.

1st Hartill’s Ch Islephar Strike a Pose at Ynchreenoo

13 years old.  Nice head and expression, ears well set, still holds her shape well, old type coat which you sadly don’t see much now.  Moved well.

2nd Davis’ Threemoons Shooting Star.

12 year old lady that I really like but she was just not wanting to move forward today.  She is at the lower end of the height scale but is well put together.  Lovely head shape with appealing expression.  Just beginning to show her age now.

Post Grad Dog  1 entry

1 Nichols’ Echo of Thunder Whispering Sand (Imp Lva)

18 month old dog. Nice head and good ear set, Good angulation with good top line.  Would prefer better front end movement.  Was certainly full of the joys of autumn today which resulted in him playing his handler up however he is young still.

Open Dog   1 entry

1 Collins & Dunhill-Hall’s Ch Fantasa Dalla Maverick.

I have loved this super boy since I first saw him and since I last judged him he has matured into one of the best I have seen.  Lovely head with great neck flowing into correctly angulated front end.  Well used correctly placed ears. Level top line that was held on the move. Powerful rear end.  Well muscled all through.  His movement was a joy to behold.  Best Dog and Reserve Best in Show.

Spec Beginners Bitch 1 entry (1abs)

Limit Bitch 1 entry

1st Rubasu Berenice Baara at Jechemo

3 year old lady that was certainly enjoying her day out.  Nice head and neck, good front and rear end.  Well carried top line.  Moved well.

Open Bitch 2 entries (1 abs)

1st Torers & Torres Mutli Ch Vaskurs Moni Maker Qiwidotter

What can I say about this beautiful girl that has not already been said by so many others.  She is an exquisite example of the breed.  Lovely head and expression. Correct neck which flows into correctly angulated front end.  Level top line to correct rear end. Good muscle tone.  No exaggeration at all.  Her movement is a joy to behold she just flows around the ring.  Best Bitch and Best in Show.

Junior Handler 1 entry

1st  10 year old Lacey Collins – this young lady was handling a dog that she had not handled before and did an excellent job.  Very gentle with her charge and executed her moves with precision and at the correct speed.  Very well done.
