Thank you to the society for the invitation to judge at this friendly well organised show and to my hard working steward, Cindy Stangroom, who kept the ring running so smoothly. My sincere thanks to all of the exhibitors for a lovely entry of quality hounds and please accept my apologies that this critique was delayed.

1st Wayman’s Collooney Charilie Brown at Scarletfair JW
Lovely graceful 15mth old male, super head with good eye and ear set, lovely sweep of neck into nice shoulder placement, nice bone and standing on good feet. Correct top and underline, with pleasing rise arch of loin and lovely through the croup, well let down hock and good width to thighs, with good muscle tone. Moved true fore and aft and demonstrated propelling side gait while keeping a very true balanced outline. Delighted to award him BOB and HG 3
2nd Ryan’s Sylleka Sashay Away at Riocife
15mth old bitch of slightly stronger stamp but still very graceful with a lovely head and eye expression coming from correct head and ear shape. Nice shoulder placement, lovely underline and nice rise to topline. Good rear angulation, nicely muscled and showing strength. Moved out true.

1st Arkell’s Swistir Baileys Cream
Larger male with lovely outline, showing balance throughout. Nice long head with good eye set and shape, nice reach of neck and good depth to body, nice off the croup. Good rear angulation, well let down hocks and shown in hard condition. Moved very free and true, though standing alone a worthy winner.

1st Mycroft’s CH Supeta’s Little Darlin’ JW
Super 2 year old bitch I really liked, with a lovely head and presenting a graceful outline. Lovely bright eye of good shape and nice ear set. Nice length to head set on elegant length of neck, clean shoulder with good angulation, nice depth to body, good rear angulation with enough width to second thigh and well let down hocks. Moved out very true but would have liked more drive and length to stride. RBOB
2nd Wayman’s Ranveli Beach Boy at Scarletfair
Nice male shown in good condition and showing a lot of breed type with pleasing overall outline coming from lovely rise to loin and coming nicely off the croup. Correct head giving lovely expression, good neck and correct depth to body. Good rear angulation with well let down hocks. Moved true fore and aft.

1st Cox’s Rayol A Kind of Magic
Really liked this smart B&T 11mth old bitch, nice ground clearance and showing true breed attitude through her carriage at all times. Good shaped head with nice clean almond eye. Muscular neck leading to good keel and nice depth. Strong topline and good underline, nicely ribbed. Correct rear angulation, allowing her to stand true and straight. Lovely true movement, showing lots of drive. Pleased to award her BOB, BP, PHG1 and wishing her a bright future.
2nd Herald’s Stargang Zebra Finch at Winterfield
Nicely developing yearling bitch with lovely head and correct expression coming from good ear and eye set. Nice front with good angulation, well ribbed back and nice depth. Good rear angulation and very true movement presenting a lovely outline when side gaiting.

Pretty girl with nice outline coming from good top, under line, with nice length of rib. Nice head, good eye. Good keel, pleasing front assembly and rear angulation. Presented in good overall shape and moved out the best in this class, good fore and aft and showing reach. RBOB
2nd Forge’s Normpug Tiger Eyes
Very neat with nice head and expression. Good keel, showing strength from good front and rear. Kept her shape on the move and moved out very true. No exaggerations and a very pleasing exhibit.

1st Cox’s Dolyharp Sweet Harmony
Presented in beautiful coat, classic head with correct ear and eye set, nice neck leading to good topline that was maintained throughout. Good angulation with nice front and balanced rear. Ribbing of good length and depth. Carried herself well and moved out true with drive and confidence. BOB
2nd Wallace’s Ralines Just Jiles
I liked this boy a lot but both hound and handler were not as confident as first and it reflected in the overall presentation. Lovely shape and super head. Well made throughout with correct angulation, conveying strength. Nice length and depth of ribbing. Moved well but had so much more to give, I hope both gain ring confidence as I felt they have so much potential. RBOB

1st Dance’s Emem Autumnal Sunshine
Beautifully constructed all through and presenting a very smart outline, which was confirmed on the move showing drive and precision. Correct head and eye, that oozed character. Lovely front, super furnishings and good keel. Balanced body ratios with good ribbing and topline. Good rear angulation, without any exaggerations. She enjoyed herself in the challenge! RBOB.
2nd Mills’ Newton Delight At Oniasid
Slightly different stamp to 1st but lots to like. Pretty head leading to nice front angulation, kept her topline and good rear angulation. Showed lots of character and moved out well.
3rd Proctor’s Delacy Que Sera Sybil
Lovely raw baby with lots to like. Lovely head, with good eye and ear set. She was very giddy but showed good movement and kept her topline. BP. HPG2.

1st Dance’s Emem Letty Bee Sunshine JW
This girl just conveyed quality from the moment she set off round the ring. Beautiful head with sparking almond eye full of character. Superb front with good depth and nicely ribbed giving good top and under line which were maintained throughout. Excellent front and rear angulation without any exaggerations but showing strength and balance. Delighted to award her BOB and HG2.
2nd Mills’ Middleton Hunt at Oniasid
Lovely girl with lots to like. Correct head and eye, nice neck leading to good fore chest and nicely ribbed. Good angulation and no exaggerations. Kept her topline and moved out well but did have a tendency to sidewind. Presented in good condition.

Lovely yearling just beginning to convey a masculine presence from a lovely head with good eye and ear set. Lovely front with good keel and underline. Well ribbed and strong through the body leading to good rear angulation. Nicely balanced throughout giving true movement. RBOB
2nd Baldwin’s Aventine Joss Merlyn
Not as mature as 1st and was a little giddy on the move but a lovely young male. Good head with correct eye and ear set. Lovely from with good keel, nice depth and ribbing. Moved true and sound once settled.

1st Mccalmont’s Silvae Timeless
This smart girl stood away and came into her own on the move, keeping a lovely outline at all times. Presented in excellent condition. Correct head of good shape and good eye and ear placement. Nice reach of neck leading to well angulated front. Good keel, correct depth and nicely ribbed with strength through the body. Correct rear angulation without any exaggerations allowing her to move true, with reach and drive. Enjoyed watching her move and pleased to award her BOB and HG1.
2nd Vlad’s Megline British Tobacco
Super young male, presented well with good masculine head of excellent proportions. Good reach of neck and super front angulation. Well ribbed, short loin and nice depth but preferred the topline of 1st. Moved out beautifully, very true fore and aft showing reach and drive and breed attitude.

1st Mcmahon’s Seasara High Flyer. Norwegian Elkhound
Stood alone but didn’t detract from his virtues. Pleasing masculine head shape with good expression. Nice neck and good front angulation, good bone and feet. Good topline, well ribbed. In super coat, with correct colour and markings. Good rear angulation, nice width to thighs. Balanced throughout. Took awhile to contain his enthusiasm but once settled moved very true showing good reach and drive.

Very smart trim-colour bitch approaching approaching 11 yrs and not giving anything away with age. Good head and expression. Lovely neck leading into good shoulder angulation, nice breadth and depth with straight legs and fine bone standing on correct feet. Good shape through her body, good tail set, balanced rear angulation. Presented beautifully, a credit to her owner. She moved out true, with drive. BestAVNSC

1st Phillips & Keyte’s Lanesend Segenhoe JW ShCM. Beagle
Masculine 9yr old presented in superb condition epitomising breed character. Correct head with beautiful expression coming from good ear carriage and kind eye. Good reach of neck leading on well laid shoulder. Standing on excellent feet. Nice through the body with good ribbing and balanced rear angulation and well let down hocks. True fore and aft and keen to power round the ring but came into his own when moved a little slower, much to his disgust! Best AV Hound Veteran

Lovely 8.5yr old male who moved with drive and precision. Super head with typical expression coming from good eye and ear set. Strong neck leading to good front agnation and keel. Nice underline and kept good topline, ribbed well back. Correct rear angulation with no exaggerations.

At 12 yrs old this girl is a credit to her owners; presented in fit condition and still holding a lovely shape typical of the breed. Lovely head, well set leathers and melting eyes. Nice reach of neck, good front angulation, still spring in her pasterns leading to good feet. Nicely ribbed and maintained her topline stacked and moving. Good rear angulation with nice width to second thigh. Moved out well, true fore and aft.
