PREMIER OPEN SHOW 17th August 2022

The 2022 Thame Premier Show took place on Wednesday 17th August and saw their biggest ever entry of nearly 2000 descend on Bury Farm Equestrian Centre near Leighton Buzzard

Best In Show to Newfoundland, Iron Man Canadian Pearl, Reserve went to Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Sh Ch Arnac Bay Hebe Europe’22

These are two quality dogs who represented their breeds so well. Typey, sound, showing well at the end of a long day.

Best Puppy In Show: Lhasa Apso, Crystal Eye’s Wam Bam Boom At Khumbila (IMP DK), Reserve: Belleville I’m At Pipsacre, a Norwich Terrier

Again two puppies who represented their breeds so well. It bodes well for the future that there are still quality puppies in the show ring.

Best Veteran In Show: Ibizan Hound, Ch Snowlief Turn The Page, Reserve: Ch Aradet Action Man ShCM, a Schipperke

I often feel that Veterans are overlooked – as an owner I was always unhappy when a judge said an older dog was ‘having a day out’. Good veterans are always contenders for high honours in my opinion and shouldn’t be overlooked. These two are a case in point; in fabulous condition and typey, moving with gaits appropriate to their breeds.

Best Import In Show: Coonhound, Covehithe Steam Boat Willy

A good representative for the I.R. breeds. Shown in lovely condition and still performing so well at the end of the day; long typical head and ears and moving out with an elastic gait.

Thank you to all the exhibitors, stewards, committee, and officers for enabling a fine show to take place, also to my fellow judges for sending through some excellent quality dogs for the finals.

Afghan Hound

L (1)

1st El Roalito Keep Smiling (imp Deu). (Mullens) Good for size and bone. Good feet. Front assembly could be better. Good body shape and coat. Hard condition and strong croup. Moderate rear angles. Presented in good order. Standing alone. BOB.

Rhodesian Ridgeback

P (3, 1)

1st Asharaa’s Perfect Match With Faahac. (Catharell & Larkin). Well developed puppy. Great for bone and substance. Moderate front angulation. Good pasterns and feet. Expressive strong furrowed head. Moving steadily. Excellent rear action. Good colour and muscle tone. BP.

2nd Negasi Thorin At Rexgrove (Jeffery). Youngster who is still growing into himself. Good head shape. Front needs to drop. Good leg length. Excellent rear muscle. Needs to develop shape. Very sound both ends.

SY (3, 1)

1st Priorpark Point & Click JW. (Picton & Ince). Well maturing male. Good colour & bone. Good body shape. Front and rear angles correct. Moved soundly - straight back and front. Good feet.

2nd. Royalridge High Hopes. (Catley & McGimpsey). Bitch. Elegant and longer in profile than winner. Feminine head. Enough bone for size. Good feet and taii set. Elegant mover using her legs well.

L (2, 1)

1st Barfordridge Zita (Tanner & Baldwin). Nice outline. Strong but feminine. Front feet and pasterns could be better but overall a lovely bitch. Expressive head. Good eye colour. Moderate angles. Moving soundly. Bit untidy in front. Parallel rear action but quite strong.

Open (2)

1st Rubicon Red Do The Right Thing Royaal Pearl (imp) ShCM (Larkin). Good overall shape. Lovely head and eye. Strong across body and croup. Excellent condition and proportions. Down a bit on front pasterns.

2nd Janak Dronning Maud of Barfordshire (Tanner & Baldwin). Bigger lass and carrying a little condition on shoulder and tuck up. Moderate bone. Really enjoying herself. Moving out strongly but weight affected it.

1st Crystal Eye’s Wam Bam Boom At Khumbila (Imp) (Revillas Rodriguez). Black and White. Perfect presentation. Good to go over. Well placed elbows and proportionate leg length. Good shaped head. Dark eye. Well filled front. Lots to like. Moved out with good stride and using angles well. Very promising baby. BP, PG1, BPIS.

2nd Sweet Devotion Pacific Paradise. (Anderson). Fawn Sable. Like 1st there is lot to like. Preferred rear action of winner. Solid to go over. Well presented. Very feminine. Good profile.

3rd Crystal Eye’s Whole Shebang At Khumbila (Imp) (Revillas Rodriguez)

1st Zentarr Renegade (Anderson). Well coated lad. Good neck, elbows and topline. Front well filled. Strong action with drive. Good tail set. Well groomed RBOB

2nd Aintshe permission to Fly From Mytilene. (Gillman). Black and White. Classy profile. Good head and body size. Rather upright in shoulder. Good topline and tailset. Good overall proportions. Immaculate presentation.

3rd Kentwone Derek Jewel By Skylax (Adam-Slomkowski)

1st Zentarr Albert (Anderson). Fabulous head and expression and gives such a lot on the move. Good neck and topline. Good rib. Well coated. Full of breed attributes. BOB

2nd Khinjan Gabriella at Littondale (Lock). Petit girl but everything in the right place. Good head with enough muzzle. Good neck and topline. Good attitude and moved like a trooper.

2nd Leebren Midnight Star Gazer at Hexenmeister. (Morgan). Black junior bitch. Ears to settle. Fabulous quality coat. Lovely head and expression. Better in front than winner. Happy and outgoing.

1st Kamora Nagual Del Zanjero. (Piper) Mexican Hairless. Lovely head and expression. Good set of teeth. Good neck. Sharp croup. Quite strongly built but great potential. Stands four square. BOB

2nd Shadiki Hariposa With Ansanda. (Guyton). Mexican Hairless. Lightly built bitch. Very agile on the move. Head and ears OK. Good incisors. Not as precise on the move as 1. RBOB & BP.

2nd Chanikos Tangerine Dream of Shenleyvale (Stevenson) Shih Tzo. Very precise and active in movement. Well boned. Good rib with short coupling. Good tail set. Well presented.

3rd Steyndal Star Sapphire With Waltzaway (Chappell & Williams) Dalmatian

1st Kelmorespitz Golden Storm (Thomas) Tibetan Terrier. Well grown and groomed. Moving soundly.

2nd Nalderhill Aphrodite at Waltzaway. (Chappell & Williams) Dalmatian. Having a lovely day out. Heavily marked. Good for size and bone. Rear action could be better. Up to weight.

1st Tolkain Storm King From Phadante JW (Chappell & Williams) Dalmatian

Masculine boy who was moving so well at the end of a long day for us all. Mature head and outlook. Presented at the correct weight and muscled well.

2nd Layoli Path Finding Magic (Thomas) Tibetan Terrier. Well coated. Mature chap who was flagging a little on the move. Up to size and well coated. Solid to go over. Well prepared.

V (7, 4)

1st Ch Aradet Action Man ShCM. (Cheatham) Schipperke. Fabulous dog. Great body - correct pear shape. Good head and erect ears. Moving spritely belying his 8 years.

2nd Dotlun Sorella Phancy At Ravold. (Graham) Dalmatian. Smart bitch in many respects but rear not to my liking.
