Firstly I would like to thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at their lovely show, I had a very enjoyable day in good company, fantastic hospitality and a friendly atmosphere made it complete. Secondly as always I would to thank you the exhibitors for a lovely entry and turn out, and who entrusted my judgement and handling of their lovely dogs.
AV Special Veteran(7-10 Years old) (6) – 1. Lewis and Bullock – Trixhund Talking Obsession JW ShCM SHEX. Lovely dog with a lot to like, overall appearance good with a correct topline, ears good in length and close to head, good deep chest with plenty of lung and heart room, strong and muscular in loin, broad muscular 1st and 2nd thighs, coat in great condition, went round the ring with ease and drive. 2. Murphy – Black Royal at Rhosyndu. Good plains to head with a good stop, ears set on low and close to face, even as an oldie no frowning evident, topline level, no sagging, sturdy and short in couplings, still muscular in rear quarters, good bend to stifle, moved and presented well. Special Veteran (11+) (2) – 1. Thomas – Mournebrake Flower Child VW. Looked good on the stand, still very sturdy for age, still with plenty of coat hiding ears comfortably, elbows close in and tight, strong and well toned at rear, good on the move with a typical short stepping movement. 2. Martins – Stonepit Heaven Sent to Loranka. Graceful looking and still well balanced, skull flat across top between ears which are set high, good in rib and depth of chest, eyes nicely dark but with still a brightness to them, moved well. Flatcoated Retriever Open (2,1) – 1. Mantle’s – Almanza Ain’t Nobodiy’s Business at Rhiewvalley (Imp Swe). Good plains to head with a good dark eye, ears set nice close to head, long and flowing neck to shoulders, well ribbed nicely arched, strong feel to rear assembly, well set on tail, free flowing movement from all angles. BOB. Spaniel (English Springer) Junior (1) – 1. Lewis and Bullock – Trixhund This Is My Destiny. Lovely friendly dog with a good outline, good look to head with a good ear set, neck good and strong with a slight arch, moderate bend of stifle to well muscled thighs, was a little loose at the front movement, but age had a part to play, very happy and easily excited. BPIB Open (1) - 1. Lewis and Bullock – Trixhund Foxtrot Oscar – Lovely in appearance and well balanced, good plains to head with ears set level with eyes which are nicely dark in a hazel colour, well sprung ribs, loin strong and slightly arched to couplings, coat in great condition, moved well. BOB. Spaniel (Welsh Springer). (2,1) – 1. Lewis’s – Kidenoan Mark Up Von Trannon. Compact and with a build for field work, head good to type slightly domed, nice eye, ear set close to face and of good shape, good shape to a muscular neck laying through a well laid back shoulder, overall strong across the body with well sprung rib, strong in loin, toned and muscular thighs giving strong and flowing movement, powerful driving action. BPIB 2. Moore’s – Kidenoan Mark that Bird. Close decision to 1st, from the same litter and very much evident with a lot of the characteristics copied in the two dogs, very much to type, good overall outline, good front and rear assemblies, strong across the top, showing strength in toned muscle, feet nicely rounded and firm, coat in good condition, presented well moved smoothly with drive. Open (2) -1. Philipsons – Menstonia Meteor. Love this dog strong and agile, with a fantastic temperament, good plains to head, skull slightly domed with a good stop, nice eye, ear shape and set good, clean toned long neck flowing into a good lay of shoulder, superb topline across nicely arched muscular loin, deep chest with plenty of well sprung rib, rear assembly of good proportions and not over angulated, presented in good condition, movement was top notch showing drive, strength and smoothness in a powerful ground covering action. BOB. 2. Moore’s – Kidenoan Second Flite. Another lovely dog of overall good proportions, with a wonderful temperament and expression, head in proportion with a good stop, eyes of a good colouring, ears set well and close to cheek, strong in neck, well laid back shoulder, front and rear construction good with moderate angulation nothing course or over exaggerated, coat and presentation good, she was pipped by 1st with her movement. AVNSC Junior (3) 1. Siddons – A Foxy Gozer Uut’t Vossebeltseveld. A strong looking dog with an overall appearance of power with excess energy, nice look to a proportionally broad head with a nice dark eye, ears set high and flat to head, strong through neck to a good shoulder, chest deep and wide, straight front, looking uniform in height an length, good muscular toning to thighs on well turned stifles, coat in good condition, free long gait with positive drive on the move. 2. Fry’s – Waldburg Seren. Clean good outline to this dog showing alertness but with an affectionate manner, good dark eye set on well proportioned head, no exaggerations to the plains of the head, skull slightly rounded, ear set and shape good, nice muscular neck into close strong shoulders, deep chest well sprung in rib, wide across muscular croup falling to tail, rear construction of good angles with well toned thighs, smooth and reaching movement covering the ground well. AVNSC Post Grad (3,1) 1. Webb’s and Danks-Kemish- Aloolfrana Azzaro Beside Redeshka. Good looking dog all in proportion and oozing style, Head of good equal plains, eye dark and set well under expressive brows, ears set on low, good front and upper arm construction to a well laid back shoulder, excellent depth to chest with plenty of well sprung rib, topline from neck through shoulder to tail set good, rear construction showing good toning to muscular 1st and 2nd thighs on well let down hocks on a good bend to stifle, coat in great condition, presented and shown well, moved with drive in a positive ground covering gait. AVNSC BOB. 2. Fry’s – Waldburg Indus. Nice shape and proportions to head set on a strong neck, good depth to chest cavity and good spring of rib, front neat and with good bone, strong and toned 1st and 2nd thighs, moved ok. AVNSC Open (3,1) 1. Williams- Winterwell Cut Above at Bodlon. Good outline showing plenty of alertness and style, of a good size, head of nicely proportioned plains with an intelligent expression, strong muscular front with good bone, feet well padded and tight, well laid shoulder, chest deep and reaching back to loin, well tucked up, broad muscular 1st and 2nd thighs on a good bend of stifle, moved smoothly with drive in an effortless manner. 2. Fry’s- Waldburg Solar Eclipse. Good overall impression of this girl, nice head shape and affectionate look, good front assembly to close shoulders well laid back, good bone to front, feet tight and of good shape, well toned 1st and 2nd thighs on good bend to stifle, moved well.
Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) Junior (2) 1. Lewis- Trixhund Bumblebee. No exaggerations to this well balanced dog, overall the outline is very much to type and desirable, head of good plains with a good shape to eye, ears set high, good length to neck slightly arched and muscular, forearm short and well boned, good proportions to rear thighs with a good muscle tone, handled and moved well BOB, BPIB.2. Mantle’s – Rhiewvalley Blackberry. Overall of a nice type, good plains and shape to head, nice shape to chest/ribs extending well back, good muscle and toning to rear, didn’t move that well for the handler today. Post Graduate (1) 1. Lewis- Trixhund Miss Honey. Nice looking dog with good compact attributes, good shape to head, nice almond shape to eye, good ear set, level across the back, solid and toned body with short strong loin, good muscle to thighs, straight legs at rear with no deviation, moved nicely. OPEN (2) 1. Lewis- Trixhund Bring me Luck. Good in outline, nice almond shape to eye, good shaping to head without a prominent stop, construction of front assembly good with good bone, well muscled long body with a short loin, free moving with good drive from the rear quarters. 2. John’s – Laurabelle Peggy Sue. Good shaping to head with neat plains and with a nice arch to skull, good front assembly with well set shoulders and upper arm close in, feet good with firm pads, well set tail, movement was free and long.
Dachshund (Longhaired) Junior (1) 1. Lewis- Trixhund Strictly Silver. A puppy with a lot to like, good overall outline with a good carriage of head, good shape to eye and ears set well, good muscle toning to neck, sloping shoulders set well, good extending back of ribs to a well muscled croup, tail carried well and not above the top line, clean flowing movement from strong rear quarters. BPIB. Post Graduate (1) 1. Lewis- Trixhund Tropical Storm. Head of good plains and proportions, eyes set nicely and of good shape, good length to body with good muscling, plenty of rib extending back, tail set good, coat in great condition soft and straight, free flowing on the move. Open (1) 1. Trixhund Silver Shadow. Great outline, no exaggerations, head plains of good proportions with a nice shape to eye, ear set good, strong in neck, flat across the topline with a good tail set, good front assembly well toned, body of good shape and with good rib back to a short loin, full well muscled rear across a good croup, standing true on good feet with well arched toes, moved really well with a flowing pace, lovely flat straight coat in great condition. BOB.
Whippet Junior (1) 1. Walsh- Bielcee Sugar Sugar. Youngster with a lovely elegant outline, head of good proportions, nice bright eye, neck long and muscular, front straight with upright forearm, good depth to chest, ribs well sprung, defined tuck up, well toned thighs with good stifles well let down, true movement holding a good topline, free action in an effortless gait. BPIB Open (5,1) 1. Williams – Layways Now and Forever Bodlon. Great overall outline, well balanced from head to tail, eyes bright and of good shape, fine ears, nice shaping to head, muscular long neck flowing into a nice topline with no exaggeration in arch to loin, good deep chest with well sprung rib, shoulders well laid back, strong 1st and 2nd thighs, neat feet, fabulous movement true and straight in all aspects, very free moving stride. BOB 2. Evans – Wolfcastle Hope N Glory. Close to 1st in overall outline and presence, neat in front assembly with a good lay back of shoulder, head of good plains including a good eye, neck strong with a neat arch, deep chest with good rib falling to good tuck up, good bend to stifle no exaggeration, moved well.
AVNSC Hound Junior (2) 1. Murphy- Davricard Picasso at Rhosyndu. Lovely youngster with the typical Beagle presence, giving the look of alertness and boldness, perfectly level topline with a good tail set, head with good plains, domed head with a good stop causing no frown, nicely set dark eye, fine feeling ears set close to cheek, well laid shoulders, straight forelegs with plenty of good round bone, well spring rib falling back to strong short couplings, 1st and 2nd thigh showing strength, well bent stifles, good feet, straight and true movement away and back, profile showed the drive from the rear, glided around the ring. 2. Hughes – Alishan Sensa Una Donna at Nantmelan FR Imp. Proud in head carriage, good shape to head with prominent occiput, nice dark eye, ears well set close to head, neck strong and long, front straight and with good bone, level topline, hip bones nicely raised, well bent stifles, movement was a little wayward from the rear today but you could see a definite smoothness in some areas. Post Graduate (4,1) 1. Pink’s – Greyhawks Romano Rakler. Well balanced dog of good proportions, head with good shape and nicely carried, good dark eye, long strong neck, straight at front with good bone, deep chest cavity showing plenty of lung room, rear quarters good with good muscle toning to thighs, easy on the move with a ground covering gait. 2. Thomas – Mischran Asherah at Mournebrake. Balanced dog with a good outline, nice shape to head with a good dark eye, slightly arched neck with good muscle toning, straight front with a nice slope on front pasterns, depth in chest to elbow, rear quarters powerful looking and with a great solid feel of toning, on the move showed power driving from the strong rear. Open (4) 1. Tanner’s – Felinoak El Koko Loko. Great outline with no coarseness, head of good proportions with a slight dome to skull, lovely expression from a dark eye, shoulders well laid back, front assembly with good round bone, straight level topline to well set tail, well sprung rib, rear quarters with good toning to thighs and well bent stifles, good firm feet with plenty of padding, movement was good with plenty of drive from the rear. BOB, BPIB 2. Jones – Grande Raven at Tufterslodge. Lovely compact dog with no exaggerations, good equal plains to head length, nice almond shape to a dark eye, good angulation to front assembly, with strong bone, ribs extending well back to a strong loin, good angulation to rear with strong 1st thigh, moved well.
Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) Open (1) 1. Caul’s – Glynaeron Glesni at Rhiwelli. Overall outline good with a level topline, well laid shoulders from a strong neck, broad chest deep in brisket, strong at rear with good 1st and 2nd thighs, well padded round feet, coat good straight and short, tail carried well on the move. BOB
AVNSC Pastorial Junior (1) 1. Robins – Mournebrake Cold as Ice. Well defined stop on well shaped head with good colour to rims and eyes, well laid back shoulders, straight in forelegs, broad in loin, deep in rib, well toned at rear with a good bend to stifle, good pace to movement short and animated. BOB. Post Graduate (1) 1. Thomas – Mournebrake Insomnia Café. Good shape to head nicely doomed in skull, nice eye with good expression, good in front with a well laid back shoulder, well ribbed in deep chest, strong in rear with a good bend in stifle, moved well. Open (1) 1. Norman – Littlehive Ganymede over Normansville. ( year old with plenty of character, good shaping to head with a good eye shape (almond), well laid shoulder placement, good spring of rib under a level topline, well toned hind quarters, firm on feet, movement was good and well animated.
Tibetan Spaniel Post Graduate (2) 1. Beasley – Marlyoak Lost in the Shadows. Good looking and very alert, head with a good shape with an expressive eye, nice lay of shoulder on level topline, well sprung rib, no exaggeration on bend of stifle, nice tail set, showing a clean set of pads on the move, coat in good condition. 2. Christopher – Dead Ringer for Love at Foxhue. Little sweetheart with a good eye, plenty of expression, nice plains to head shape, good in front assembly, good spring of rib, moved ok. Open (2) 1. Beasley – Marlyoak Glory of Love. Good outline and overall shape, nice expression on well shaped head, good front assembly and well laid back shoulder, good spring of rib, well let down hocks on strong toned rear, coat in good condition, moved freely and with a positive gait.BOB 2. Norman – Normansville Diamond Rocks. Nice shape to head with a lovely eye, good spring of rib, level topline, rear quarters strong with a nice bend of stifle, tail set good.
AVNSC Utility Junior (3,1) 1. Evans – Regalrouge Made Ya Look. Nice shaping to head with a defined stop, good dark eye, strong in neck, straight bone in well toned front assembly, wide brisket with plenty of good rib, well let down hocks on sound and strong rear quarters, moved freely. 2. Crothers - Hazembulls Paris. Impressive look to head with no excessive exaggerations, nice round dark eye, strong muscular neck, board across the shoulder and well sloping, nice tuck up behind well ribbed chest, plenty of well toned muscle at rear, moved ok. Open (2) 1. Walsh – Taladayga Feel the Glow Bielcee. Well groomed full of elegance balanced bitch, with a moderate stop on nicely chiselled head with a nice shaped eye, low set to ears, well laid back shoulders on straight front, deep chest with rounded well sprung rib, well toned loin, 1st and 2nd thighs nicely muscled and toned through well bent stifle, tight clean feet, moved with ease and without effort, coat in great condition. BOB 2. Evans – Ruakuri Empress of the Night. Well balanced dog of good outline and with no exaggerations, squared shape to head and in good proportion, nice round eye of good colour, neck slightly arched, strong in loin, muscular strong rear quarters, moved ok.
AVNSC Working Post Graduate (1) 1. Plant – Barracechi Romani Charmfor Shadann. Strong well balanced dog with a powerful presence, broad head with raised occiput, eye and ear set good, strong in neck on well laid shoulders, plenty of good rib in deep chest, strong in loin, good feet, strong across all of rear quarters with well toned muscle, moved well with a free gait. BOB
Pug Junior (1) 1. Crothers – Hazempugs Miss Lucy. Nice dark eye on well proportioned head with short muzzle but not showing any excessive folds or exaggeration, nice arch to a strong neck, short well ribbed body carrying a level topline, good bend to stifle high tail set, full of good bone, moved well. Post Graduate (3) 1. Bradley & Edwards – Mopszawawa’s Freddie with Tomalca. Well balanced dog with a good outline, large open nostrils on well proportioned head, showing no excessive folds or exaggerations to impede breathing, nice dark round eye, strong well toned slightly arched neck falling into well laid shoulders, strong and straight in front, well sprung rib, good bend to stifle with well toned thighs, good tail set, wonderful gait and even movement. BOB. 2. Crothers – Hazempugs Patsy Popper. Overall good outline, shape and definition to head with no exaggeration, eyes round and dark, strong nicely arched neck to well laid shoulder, straight in front with good bone, broad chest with good well sprung rib, toned muscle to rear quarters, moved well. Open (2) 1. Bradley & Edwards – Witherford Amereto with Tomalca. Good in outline, head of good proportions with no excessiveness in folds, good dark eye and set well, strong neck, shoulders well laid to level topline, good rear quarters with plenty of toned muscle, moved well. 2. Hall – Conquell Can We Pretend. Nice outline with good shape to head, nice dark eye set well, level topline held on the move, plenty of good bone in straight front, good rib and strong toned rear, moved well.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Post Graduate (2) 1. Hopkins – Droleus That’s M’Calon Aur at Gwawr. Good looking in outline with a nice dark round eye giving that sweet expression, ears set on high, slight arch to neck, well laid back shoulder, with straight front legs of moderate bone, well sprung rib to short couplings, good turn of stifle, free flowing on the move. 2. Martins – Kinvaar Kataleena to Clemartill. Broader across head than 1st but still with that sweet expression, good front assembly with straight legs and moderate bone, well sprung rib, good rear quarters especially in loin, good tail set, moved well. Open (1) 1. Martin – Jamesbonny Carla’s Donut. Very typical of the breed with the characteristic expression, head of good shape with a nice dark round eye, ear set high, front of good proportions with moderate bone, well laid shoulders, good spring of rib, nice and short in couplings, rear with a good bend of stifle, moved with a gliding smooth action. BOB
Norfolk Terrier Junior (1) 1. Lupton – Tomgram Felicity. Youngster of good outline and proportions, head shape good with a well defined stop, oval eye of dark colour, strong neck not too long, well laid back shoulder to level topline, plenty of well sprung rib good bend to stifle on well toned thighs, good tail set, low, driven, true movement covering the ground well. Post Graduate (2,1) 1. Ward – Kinsridge Disco Nights of Littlemount. Compact keen looking dog with a lovable disposition, lovely head with a good stop, eyes nice and dark with correct shaping, good muscle to neck falling to a well laid shoulder, topline level with good set on tail, front assembly good looking straight and toned, well sprung rib on compact body, rear quarters having well toned muscle on a good bend of stifle, with the good formation to rear the drive on the move was great, straight and true, shown it good condition. BOB. Open (2,1) 1. Ward – Littlemount Mackmyra. Great looking dog very much to type, nice dark eye and set on well shaped head with defined stop, strong neck, good lay of shoulder, running level topline to good tail set, neat front assembly, good chest cavity with plenty of good sprung rib, good bend of stifle at rear with well toned 1st and 2nd thighs, moved well with good drive.
AVNSC Terrier Junior (1) 1. Bailey & Huseby – Hunterhawk Bjorn Borg. Eager and keen and full of character, good overall outline, head of good shape with a well defined stop, good shaping to a dark eye, good set to ear, strong in neck well laid back shoulders, level across the topline to good tail set, deep chest oval in shape with well sprung rib, well bent stifles with good muscle tone, nice shape to feet, plenty of drive from the rear covering the ground with ease. Post Graduate (1) 1. Bailey & Huseby – Hunterhawk John McEnroe. Litter mate to last class winner but to me showed more quality, finish and refinement, real class in outline and looks, head of good dimensions with a well defined stop, good shape and colour to eye, ear set good and high, shoulders well laid back across a level topline to loin with good tail set, good shaping to chest with plenty of good spring of rib, rear assembly strong in muscle on a well turned stifle, pasterns set nicely when seen from behind, feet of good shape with plenty of firmness to pads, movement was free, driven and flowing covering the ground easily without effort.
