Firstly let me thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at their lovely show, I had a very enjoyable day in good company, fantastic hospitality and a friendly atmosphere made it complete. Secondly as always I thank you the exhibitors for a lovely entry and turn out, and who entrusted my judgement and handling of their lovely dogs.

Irish Setters Bitches

Puppy (1) – 1. Stevenson – Lochlorien Unforgotten. 9 month old with a good head shape equal plains, nice eye of shape and colour, set on low of ear, good frontage for age with plenty of well sprung rib which will only get better with age through development, nice from slightly arched neck through good shoulders, nice gentle slope from withers through topline to good set on tail, good proportions at rear, muscle to both 1st and 2nd thighs proportionate to the dogs age nicely coming, moved well in the confines of our small ring. 2. Hall – Glennara Cherry Cola. Again a nice 9 month old with lots to like, feminine head with lovely expression, good shape to eye and well set on ears, good shaping to neck through withers on sound topline to good tail set, angulation at the front is good and will get even better with age, nice deep chest of well sprung rib, good rear assembly, presented well and in good condition, movement was a bit loose but probably down to ring size as handler couldn’t get going at a steady pace.

Junior Bitch (3,1) – 1. Jones – Gwendariff Dazzling Diva. Lovely young bitch that I have had the pleasure to go over once before at an earlier age, she has only improved like a fine wine would, an eye catching outline with nothing exaggerated, very feminine expression with a melting look, well shaped eye and still of a good colour, well shaped equal plains to head, nicely following through to a good neck muscled and tapered into well set shoulders, smooth correct slightly sloping topline into good tail set, well angled at front with a good fore chest, equal lengths in the shoulder and upper arm to round off the front package, sound spring of rib, good muscle tone to 1st and 2nd thigh, good bend to stifle down through hocks, neat tight strong toes and feet, moved well and presented well. 2. Bell and Barker-Bell- Balintyne Sing it Back. Young bitch of a more slender nature to 1, but still of a good overall shape and silhouette, good eye and kind expression, well laid back shoulders and equal upper arm giving good front construction, deep chest nicely narrow at front, well angulated at rear from nicely toned muscle on 1st and 2nd thighs, again, probably because of the size of ring movement was a little off not being able to get into a rhythm.

Yearling Bitch (5,2) -1.  Milligan-Bott and Bott – Thendara Strictly Samba. Nicely built young girl of good overall outline and proportions, good equal plains to head, nicely shaped eye of good dark colouring give that loving kind expression, nice length to neck with the correct shape and muscle tone, flowing through the well laid back shoulders across firm topline to good tail set, nicely shaped front assembly, plenty of fore chest not too wide, nicely boned in the leg with neat strong firm feet/toes, deep chest of sound sprung rib, good hind quarters strong and muscular at the loin, rear angulation sound with a good bend at stifle from well toned 1st and 2nd thighs. presented in great condition, moved well, straight and free flowing. 2. Turner – Blazing Bronze Jitterbug with Dazycutter (IMP NLD). Another pleasing youngster to see, with a good head shape of equal plains nice and lean but not over exaggerated, good eye shape and colour giving that kind expression, nice arch to neck into well placed shoulders through a sturdy topline to correct tail set, front package of nice proportions and angulation, well sprung rib in a nice deep chest, good bend to stifle from well toned thighs, good strength to rear powering from the muscular loin, good condition to coat, presented well and moved with determination on a true action.

Post Graduate Bitch (6,3) -1. Bell and Barker-Bell – Balintyne Let It Be Me JW. Lovely girl full of expression from a kind well shaped well coloured eye, nice shape to head, oval from ear to ear with equal plains, well proportioned front nice fore chest widening to a good well sprung rib cage of good depth, good lay of shoulder equalled by the upper arm for correct angulation at front, nice gently sloping topline to good rear of nice proportions, good bend of stifle, well muscled 1st and 2nd thighs, tidy tight feet with firm toes of good shape, presented in good condition, handled and move well with a clean flowing gait. 2. Turner – Gwendariff A Gee an Tee for Me with Dazycutter. Nice outline of a lovely expressionful dog with a good eye and shape to her head, good front assembly with nice angles from equal upper arm and lay back of shoulder, sound firm topline to correct tail set, well toned muscle at 1st and 2nd thighs, coat  and presentation was good, moved well free flowing with a good drive.

Open Bitch (4,3) 1. Stevenson – Lochlorein True Detective is Andly. Mature girl that I have come across before and still like a lot, she has a great outline well proportioned across the entire package, well shaped head all of equal plains with a good dark eye giving that intelligent kind expression, angulation at the front is good with no deviation from the standard, firm topline and strong across the croup and good tail set, well ribbed on deep chest, good strength to thighs plenty of toned muscle through hock, good bend to stifle, moved really well in a small space equal free flowing straight and true. Best Bitch.
