Golden Retriever Dogs

Thankyou to the committee for inviting me to judge at your friendly and welcoming show, also to my stewards who ensured everything ran smoothly and to the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of going over your beautifully groomed dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed my day.

Minor Puppy (3,0a)

1. Millington’s Golmas Guard of Honour at Jarabees

A happy confident puppy with a glorious mid gold coat.He has a gentle masculine head with a correct stop and ear set with dark eyes and good pigment. His front and rear angulations are equal with good layback of shoulder onto a dead level top line. He has a deep chest for one so young. His overall balance and sound movement won him this class.

2. Garget & Morris’s Goldmarker Coming Home to Garvin

Another happy puppy with a gleaming dark gold coat. He has a lovely head with super pigment and dark eyes. A good straight front with a good length of upper arm and well angulated front assembly with elbows close to his chest, Lovely level topline with correct tailset. His movement today wasn’t as balanced as one.

Puppy (3,0a)

1. Millington’s Golmas Guard of Honour at Jarabees

2. Williams Berrymeade Kilternan of Busheyhall

Mid gold happy puppy who’s tail never stopped wagging. He has such a gentle masculine head with dark eyes and great pigment. His layback of shoulder is very good as is his reach of neck flowing onto a level topline and tail set. He has a deep chest with good spring of rib and is short coupled with good front and rear angulations. Everything held together very well on the move.

Junior (2, 1a)

1. Muncey’s Kennelridge Captain Tom

This young boy stood on his own and had great ring presence. He has a gentle head, kind dark eyes and super pigment with a gleaming dark gold coat. Well laid back shoulders onto a dead level topline and tail set with front and rear angulations symmetrical. Good straight front and tight feet. His chest is deep with good spring of rib. He is short coupled with good width of thigh and well let down hocks. A super balanced boy who moved straight and true with reach and drive.

Post Graduate (4,0a)

1. Swaine’s Ohanagold Apollo

This mid gold mature dog had the most melting expression with everything to like about him. His head is gentle yet masculine head without coarseness, correct ear set and stop with dark pigment. He has a good reach of neck and layback of shoulder. His elbows are held tight to his deep mature chest. Straight front and tight feet. Super topline and tailset on the stance and held perfectly on the move. His overall balance and condition won him this class.

2. Wallington’s Wynrita School Daze

This mid gold dog also has a gentle head and nicely balanced mature frame presented in tip top coat and condition. It was a very close decision between one and I just preferred my winners movement on the day. He has a good layback of shoulder and a depth of chest with well sprung ribs, short coupled with a level topline and tailset. Good front and rear angulations with well let down straight hocks and lovely tight feet. Held his frame well on the move.

Limit (4,1a)

1. William’s Berrymeade Coeur Blimey at Busheyhall SGWC

I loved this mature darker gold dog presented in super condition. He has such ring presence and was totally at one with his handler throughout. He has the most gorgeous melting expression, his head is masculine yet gentle with correct proportions and lovely dark pigment. He has a good reach of neck and layback with a strong level topline and tailset. His front is straight with tight feet. His elbows tuck neatly into his deep chest which is well sprung. He has a lovely symmetrical balance reflected in his strong muscular condition. He flowed round the ring holding everything perfectly together. Well deserved BOB

2. Swaine’s Kallixel Caramel Delight

A mature dark gold boy with a kind expression, dark eyes and good pigment and correct scissor bite. He has a nicely balanced frame a little smaller and lighter boned than 1. His front is straight with tight feet, good layback of shoulder onto level topline and tailset. He is short coupled with good angulations. He moved soundly placing his feet correctly both towards and away. A lot to like about him.
