Worcester and Malvern Canine Society Open Show – 3rd January 2022

Many thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at their open show and to my two efficient stewards for all their help on the day.

JUNIOR DOG or BITCH (2,1)

1st ASHLEY-TURNER’S Hernwood The Botanist

7 month old with lovely head and expression, with a dark eye and soft expression. Well boned, good feet, good depth of chest and good top line for age. Well angulated rear with good width of stifle. Presented in excellent condition. Just needs time to settle on the move. BP.

GRADUATE DOG or BITCH (3,2)

1st PHILLIPS, WATKINS & MILES’ Glenmaurangi Mandalorian JW

Masculine dog with deep, chiselled head but maintaining a lovely expression. Good reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders and good lay back. Good depth of chest and correct top line held on the move. Well angulated rear which he used to his advantage on the move. BOB.

1st PHILLIPS, WATKINS & SYKES’ Glenmaurangi Storm Trooper

Masculine head and expression with correct eye. Straight front, good depth of chest, level top line, correct tail carriage, well angulated rear. Moved well. Res BOB.

1st YOUNG & PARKES’ Potterzuri Chip of the Old Block

6 month old baby. Lovely head and expression with dark eye and good pigment. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest for his age and good bone. Good top line and width of stifle. Would just prefer a little more enthusiasm on the move. BP.

2nd SMITH’S Bruadarach Braenuth

Masculine head with lovely expression. Good reach of neck leading into correct top line with good tail carriage. Straight front, good bone and well angulated rear. Covered the ground with ease.

1st McLELLAN’S Saranden Shadeuxplay

Masculine head with lovely dark eye. Good bone and neat feet. Good reach of neck with good depth of chest and level top line. Good width of stifle and presented in good condition. Moved well and showing himself to his best advantage.

2nd HUTCHINSON’S Glosmere Ragamuffin

Smaller boy but presented an overall balanced picture. Lovely soft head and expression. Good bone and feet. Good depth of chest. Well angulated front and balanced with good width of stifle. Level top line, moved well. Just carrying a little too much weight over the shoulders.

1st COODE’S Warringah’s The Bluff JW

Masculine dog but maintaining a soft express and with lovely dark eye and excellent pigment. Good bone and neat feet. Clean outline. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good length of upper arm. Good depth of chest, correct top line and tail carriage. Presented in excellent hard condition covering the ground with ease. BD & BOB.

1st YOUNG’S Potterspiney Killian

Most balanced in the class. Masculine head with correct eye. Good bone and neat feet. Good reach of neck and depth of chest. Good top line held on the move with correct tail carriage. Moderate angulation both front and back. Presented in hard condition which he used to his advantage on the move.

2nd McLELLAN’S Saranden Pensacola

Soft head but still masculine. Good reach of neck and depth of chest. Moderate angles front and back. Moved well but carried tail slightly high.

PUPPY BITCH (7, 3)

1st PORTER’S Winnellands Vanilla Sky

Feminine head and expression. Clean neck and good depth of chest. Level top line, short coupled and balanced angles both front and back presenting a very balanced picture on the stance. Would just prefer a little more enthusiasm on the move but this will hopefully come with confidence.

2nd NEACHELL’S Rudidale All That Jazz at Suttonpark

Pretty head and expression, good pigment. Good reach of neck, straight front and neat feet. Good width of stifle, moved ok, just carrying a little too much weight today.

JUNIOR BITCH (5,2)

1st McLELLAN’S Wynfaul Resolution for Saranden

Just 12 months old. Feminine head with lovely dark eye. Good bone and neat feet. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good depth of chest. Moderate angulation on rear. Level top line with correct tail carriage and good spring of rib. Well muscled covering the ground with ease. BB.

2nd BRADDON’S Trendlewood Shape of You

Pretty head with soft expression. Good reach of neck and depth of chest. Slightly longer cast than winner and therefore not as strong in top line. Well angulated rear. Good tail and carriage. Moved ok, just became slightly overawed by the environment.

YEARLING BITCH (5,2)

1st McLELLAN’S Wynfaul Happy New Year for Saranden

Feminine girl with good reach of neck. Good depth of chest and well placed shoulders. Good bone and neat feet. Level top line and good width of stifle. Correct tail set

2nd BRADDON’S Chyanhal Pendray in Trendlewood

Soft head with good pigment. Clean neck with well placed shoulders. Good bone and neat feet. Slightly longer cast than winner. Straight front with well angulated rear. Was pacing on the move making it difficult to assess.

POST GRADUATE BITCH (4, 3)

1st HODGE & LAPPER’S Naiken Evita (AI)

Feminine head and dark eye. Straight front. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders. Slightly long in loin. Well sprung ribs with good width of stifle. Good top line and correct tail set. Moved well.

OPEN BITCH (3,1)

1st NEACHELL’S Suttonpark Consuela

Feminine head with correct eye. Straight front, good reach of neck and good depth of chest. Slightly long in loin. Moderate width of stifle. Level top line with correct tail set. Moved well.

2nd SMITH’S Exelby Hellebore in Flyenpyg

Finer girl. Pretty head and expression with good pigment. Balanced moderate angles front and back. Neat feet. Level top line, moved alright.
