Thank you to the society for asking me to judge BIS and the Hound Group and special thanks my very efficient steward who supported me all day.

Best In Show went to the Bulldog Poulton Avaword Temptress At Ballesmar, a beautiful bitch who conveyed strength. This compact red and white bitch impressed on her statue and movement, her head is fairly large in proportion to her size, broad and square in appearance, cheeks well rounded, defined stop, short muzzle, nostrils large and open, jaws broad and square, round eyes, high set ears, moderate length of neck, broad shoulders, deep brisket, forelegs set wide apart, body well ribbed, sound on the move. Reserve Best is Show went to my hound group winner, the lovely Miniature Smooth Dachshund Ergis Siouxline Elizabeth, I loved the shape on this black and tan bitch, she flowed all through, feminine head with dark almond eye, scissor bite, correct head proportions, high set ears, good length of neck into well laid shoulder, prominent breastbone with forelegs at the lowest point of keel, nice ground clearance, ribs extending well back, balanced angulation, stood true, tail slightly curved, free mover in parallel displaying a long stride with drive.

Best Puppy In Show was awarded to McCabe- Bell Zheridons Zephyranthes At Grandtully, Cocker Spaniel, promising young bitch who has everything in the right place, feminine head with square muzzle and distinct stop, scissor bite, low set ears, moderate length of neck into sloping shoulder, well boned, deep chest, compact body, good bend of stifle, moved true covering the ground. Reserve Best Puppy In Show the Miniature Schnauzer Penbro Talk of the Town, this young bitch certainly lived up to the characteristics of the breed being smart and stylish, her head is of good length with the upper part being flat and moderately broad, powerful muzzle ending with a moderately blunt line, medium sized oval eye with bushy eyebrows, v shaped ears, moderate length of neck into shoulder, forelegs straight, deep chest, topline broad and straight, balanced angulation, free mover holding topline level in action.

Best Veteran In Show went to the Tibetan Spaniel Rice Ch Souska Devotion VW, a 9 year old lady who presented a nice shape on the stack, nice head proportions with dark oval eye, pendant ears set fairly high, slightly undershot mouth, neck moderately short with well laid shoulder, balanced angulation, correct body proportions, tail set high and carried in a gay curl on the move, free sound mover. Reserve Best In Show was the Whippet Lawrence & Woodward Oalmik Kandalama Dusk Till Dawn JW ShCEx, feminine bitch with a long and lean head which tapers to the muzzle, oval eye, scissor bite, small rose shaped ears, good length of neck into shoulder, forelegs straight, good depth of chest, ribs well sprung, definite tuck up, naturally covered the ground, showed freedom of action on the move.

Best Reserve Best of Breed In Show went to the French Bulldog Ellis Eastonite Amaaze, fawn bitch, feminine in head, square in appearance, domed forehead, well defined muzzle and stop, dark round eye, moderately wide apart, bat ears wide at the base, set high, moderate well arched neck, cobby in body with deep wide brisket, balanced moderate angulation, short tail, displayed soundness of movement.

Best Champion of Champions went to the stunning Beagle bitch Breeze Ch Dufosee Dragonfly of Parkerbreeway, this bitch was my find of the day and I was completely taken by her, a feminine tricolour bitch who presented a nice shape on the stack, head of fair length with skull slightly domed, free from wrinkle, defined stop, scissor bite, dark eye, long low set ears with rounded tips, great length of neck into well laid shoulder, forelegs straight and set well under, elbows firm, round in bone, topline level, balanced angulation, parallel hocks, feet tight, tail set on high, moved with reach and drive.

1. Prowse Freehamlet Saint Cecila, brindle bitch, head long and lean, oval eyes, scissor bite, good length of neck into shoulder, forearms straight, good depth, pasterns with slight spring, definite tuck up, showed freedom of action.

1. Williams Fencruiser Prince, 6 month cream male, the dog and owners first show and they coped well. This male is moderate as required but needs a lot more substance and time. He has a nice head and eye and ears not set to low. The more classes he came into, the more settled on the move he became. BPIB and RBOB.
