Wrexham & District Kennel Society

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. It was a pleasure judge Best In Show and my fellow judges sent through some lovely examples of their breeds.

In the end I selected the Pug Reynold’s Judamie Glorious Gloria of Croftren for Best In Show. This feminine young girl took my eye with her free and true movement. Good head with relatively short muzzle, dark round eye, small button ear, balanced angulation, short and cobby body, level topline, high set tail with curl correctly. Hot on her heels was the winner of my Utility group the Akita Bevis, Corr & Venezia Stecal’s All Guns Blazing who I awarded Reserve Best In Show, this outstanding puppy just gives you goosebumps. At just 6 months and 3 days he was an absolute pro in the ring and demanding everyone’s attention. When you look at him, he is very hard to fault, his shape just flows and gives that appearance of being powerful and alert. He has a large broad head, defined stop, almond shaped small eyes, scissor bite, small triangular ears which when carried forward is in line with the back of the neck, he has a long muscular next into well laid shoulders, correct body proportions, balanced angulation front and rear, tight well knuckled feet, tail set on high, when he moves he just displays those powerful strides whilst remaining true. Cant wait to watch this puppy’s show career.

Best Puppy in Show I awarded to the Akita Stecal’s All Guns Blazing, Reserve Best In Show went to the Dobermann Pollard Manzart Yuliana At Whizzbean, another who was also not letting me overlook her. This bitch was of medium size, correct head proportions which flat skull and slight stop, almond shaped eye, small ears, scissor bite, long neck into shoulder, straight and parallel legs, square body, deep chest, well arched feet, balanced angulation, free and sound on the move.

Best Veteran In Show was the Samoyed, Short Ch Zeelukzak Ice’N Glorious At Zakaytia JW, 10 years old and in great condition, feminine, well balanced all through, has that ‘smiling expression’, she has the required head shape with good pigmentation, almond shaped eyes, scissor bite, erect ears, strong and arched neck into well laid shoulder, balanced angulation, back of medium length, deep chest with well sprung ribs, straight legs, long feet with feathering, profusely coated tail which was carried over her back, demonstrated the free movement which the standard asks for.
