I would like to thank the Northern Golden Retriever Association committee for the invitation to judge their Open Show and for all their hard work, for my stewards for the smooth running of the ring and to all exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me.



Veteran Dog 2-0


1st Loverock & Waldron-Smith’s. Loveissa Space Dust ShCM

Have admired this boy from ringside many times and was not disappointed.

     Seven year boy in full gold coat, masculine head but with a lovely soft expression ,dark eye and pigment, presenting a balanced outline throughout, nothing over done in super condition. Moved well with drive,totally at one with his handler. BD BOS BVIS


2nd Forman’s Camestone FIeld day at Amberson

Another lovely boy in good gold coat , nice head and expression, lovely dark pigmentation, good flow of top line , straight front and neat feet, good angulation front and rear, moved well.

1st Shaw & Robertshaw’s Akenscales Beau Baron

Presented well in cream coat, 6 and a half month baby, when settled gave a lovely picture, soft head and expression,dark eye, good reach of neck onto level topline.

Good angulation front and rear, happy little mover.BPD & RBPIS


2nd Murrays’s Shebelta Sweet Talking Guy

Another lovely baby at just 6 months, in good cream coat, lovely head and soft expression,balanced outline ,neat cat like feet, little unsettled on the move but looked like as though he was enjoying himself in the ring.

2 Gargan’s Siager SInatra 9 month old in profuse cream coat,pleasing head, with dark eye , good topline and angulation,happy on the move and used the ring well.

Junior Dog 3-1


1 WIlliam’s Berrymeade Kilternan of Busheyhall Mid Gold 15 month boy, with attractive masculine head, lovely soft expression, presented a balanced outline,strong topline,good front & rear angulation and length of leg, moved out well with style and drive.


2 Wallington’s Ambersun with Hearts of Oak. Gold boy with stronger head , still a lovely gentle expression, slightly longer in body , nice angulation ,deep chest, handled and moved well, just carried his tail a little proud .

Murray’s Shebelta Soul Man. This 23 month old boy stood alone but worthy of his first place,in lovely cream coat , good reach of neck and shoulder placement, level topline,neat feet, happy boy which showed on the move covering the ground well.

1 Forman’s Ambersun Alive & Kicking . This 3 year old mid gold boy was attentive to his owner , stood square , showing his balance confirmation, masculine head with softest of expressions , beautifully presented, moved well with drive .


2 Loverock & Waldron Smith’s Thorneywait Save my Space at Louissa 

Gold boy in good hard condition, lighter frame to 1 but still balanced with nothing over done. Super head , soft expression, lovely dark pigmentation, well presented, moved well with his owner.


3 William’s Berrymeade Coeur Blimey at Bushyhall SGWC .

1 Tower’s & Anderson’s Alibren’s Baker’s Boy. This boy really took my eye , he has a super clean outline, head is masculine with soft expression and dark eye,good reach of neck , which flowed onto level topline and correct tail set .

Straight front, deep chest, in good firm condition, moved with drive covering the ring well. RBD.


2 Wallington’s Wynrita School Daze . Heavier framed boy in profuse dark gold coat, pleasing head and expression, well angulated front and rear, deep in chest, short coupled , moved well with handler .

1 Clark-Gear Ousevale Tobermory JW. Powerful looking pale boy, presented in full cream coat, loved his head which is masculine but with a lovely soft expression, correct dark eye, level topline, well assembled front, deep in chest , neat cat like feet, moved well.


2 Smith’s Thorneywait Iluminati at Goldmarker . Good sized Gold boy, presented well, pleasing head with soft expression, correct shoulder placement, level topline, strong rear angulation which he used well when powering round the ring.

A true veteran at 11 years old, mid gold coat, still enjoying going round the ring, not as fast as others but held her topline on the move, pretty head with soft expression, short coupled, still displaying her balanced outline.

A just 6 months old this super baby really took my eye for overall balance , pretty head, with dark eye, lovely length of neck on to good shoulder placement, level topline, super front and angulation, moved well, one to watch for the future.

Yet again at just 6 months a lovely pale baby, beautiful sweet head and dark eye, has many of the same attributes as 1, just preferred the movement on 1, another promising puppy.

23 month mid gold bitch ,pretty head and dark eye, nice outline , good angulation front and rear, in good coat, moved well with her handler however would have liked a little more enthusiasm
