Dundee Canine Club – Sat 11th June 2022
A long but really enjoyable day judging at this friendly, well organised show. I had some super dogs to judge and the group was well contested.
AV gundog Imp Reg (3, 1abs)
1 Gorrian and Henry’s Portuguese Pointer Ir Sh Ch Perdizcyo Andres
Had the pleasure of judging this one before. Super headed with bright eyes and typical expression. Strong neck and well laid shoulders. He is firm in topline and presented in good coat. Moved well especially in profile.
2 Gorrian and Henry’s Portuguese Pointer Fab Point Relight The fire
Finer type, 3-year-old from the same home also in good body and coat. Balanced in head with good length of neck. Preferred the shoulder placement of the winner.
Cocker Spaniels
Puppy D (4)
1 Flowers’ Totenkopf Dutch Obsidian
Promising 8 month old. Presented a balanced picture standing and so good to go over. Clean neck of good length leads to well placed shoulders. Firm topline with short couplings. He moved well both ways. Should go on to do well.
2 Scotland’s Lynwater Anything Goes
A lovely 10 months boy Balanced head with well-placed ears, clean in neck with well laid shoulders. Well ribbed for his age with good width to his quarters. In lovely coat. Just preferred the topline of the winner on the move today.

1 Scotland’s Lynwater Hamilton
Another promising young lad here. Balanced in head with more to come but not over done in any way. Clean neck of good length. Well laid shoulders lead to straight front. Firm in topline and well angulated quarters. He moved well here especially when going away from me.
2 Madigan’s Misperros Dezign in Silver
13 months b/r lovely head with kind expression and dark eyes.. Good neck and shoulders. He is well ribbed for his age and firm over the loins. Good bend of stifle and hocks are nicely let down. Not as settled on the move as the winner. Should go on to do well.
3 Hamill’s Vittador Sea Beet

1 Furzer’s Durham Blue
Almost two and making life difficult for his handler today. Well boned through with well-shaped head, clean neck of good length and nice shoulder angulation. Good depth and width to his body. He has strength over his quarters and correct tail set.
2 Blazejczak’s Summer Vibes Perfekt Partner
Masculine head with clean neck. Well ribbed firm body. In full coat and in good condition. Not a positive on the move as the winner.

Mature four-year-old presented a clean outline. Well-shaped head with straight front of good width. Well balanced body with good width and depth. Firm in topline and strong over his quarters. Moved well. Best Dog.
2 Maclean’s Lynwater Jitterbug
Another good one. Lovely headed boy with kind expression and good front assembly. Short coupled body. Lovely rear angulation and good width of thigh. Winner just edged it on movement in profile today. Close decision.
3 Summer Vibes Perfekt Partner

Five year old presented in full coat. Balanced in head with good length of neck and well ribbed body. Firm in topline and well angulated quarters. He moved well carrying his tail correctly.

1 Bradford’s Vistwin grand Ole Oprey
Honest 8 month old. Lovely head for her age with gentle expression. Well placed shoulders. Level topline and correct tail set. Unexaggerated and good to go over. In good coat and condition.
2 Madigan, Nuttall and Fairbairn’s Heluin Blue Jay
Not as settled as the winner and not as mature in body but plenty to like here. Correct in head with straight front and well balanced body. Help her topline well.

1 Sinclair’s Chataway Dress Tartan at Duclarus
Feminine through and so good to go over. At 17 months is right for her age. Well-proportioned head with low ears and dark eyes, straight well boned front leads to round feet. Good length of rib with firm short couplings. She is well angulated behind and moved well.
2 Maclean’s Lynwater Peak A Boo
Another good one, giving a bit away in age here. Well-shaped head with kind eyes and soft expression. Clean neck and well laid shoulders. Balanced body with well angulated quarters. She moved well covering the ring easily.
3 Flowers’ Totenkopf Hip Hop

1 Neatham’s Shoogsea Bibidi Bobidi Boo
Pretty o/r with good head and clean neck of good length. Well laid shoulders. Good depth and width to her body. She has a firm topline and a good bend of stifle. She moved well carrying her tail correctly.
2 Bodzak’s Briconess Solar Corona
Presented a lovely profile when stacked. Well balanced head with good ear placement and clean neck. Good layback of shoulder. She has good depth of body and short couplings. Preferred the front of my winner here.

1 Madigan’s Misperros Sophia Loren
Liked this one at first glance and continued to impress all day. Compact and well bodied, she has a balanced head with plenty of shape and dark eyes. Good length of neck leads to correctly made front and well placed shoulders. Well-developed ribs with firm short couplings and well angulated quarters. She moved well, especially in profile. Best of Breed and later second in a strong gundog group. Really liked her.
2 Neatham’s Shoogsea Jessica Rabbit
Looking so well and belying her 8 years. So well put together. Balanced head, straight front of good width. Well angulated quarters. Moved well in profile.

1 Lawton’s Quebaikei Accossato for Oaklaw
Won this class on her positive movement in profile. Feminine 22 months old with well-proportioned head and lovely eyes. Well boned legs come from well-placed shoulders. Good length of rib and correctly set tail.
2 Knowles and Glen’s Bessalone Scandalous
Just 12 months. Well shaped head with enough width. Good reach of neck, neatly laid shoulders. Well bodied for his age. Moved really well from behind. Should go on to do well.

Pleasing two year old. Well shaped head with good eyes and strong neck. Well placed shoulders. Good depth and length of ribs. Strong quarters with moderate angulation. Moved well enough.

6 year old, well up to size. Correct head proportions. Strong neck of good length. Correct in front. In good body.

Mature 8 year old boy with pleasing head and good eyes. Strong in neck and good layback of shoulder. Has plenty of width to his ribs.

Lovely headed girl with well-shaped eyes and correct ear placement. Straight in front with good body for her age. She was a bit wary being gone over but showed enough quality on the move to justify her place.

Lovely five-year-old with balanced head and typical expression. Clean neck of good length leads to well angulated shoulders. Balanced through with good turn of stifle. She moved easily covering the ring freely and showing good disposition. Best of Breed.

2 Rooney’s Exelby El Dakhla at Taraloch
At 9 montrhs was giving a little away in age today. Well-shaped head with strong neck and well laid shoulders. Well boned with good depth of chest for age. Well angulated quarters. Moved well once settled.

Attentive with keen expression and balanced in head. Strong neck of correct length leads to well-constructed shoulders. Well ribbed with length and depth without being overdone. Strong over the quarters showing good width to her thighs and well-turned stifles. In good coat and moving well in profile. Best of Breed.

Close up here. Feminine well-proportioned head with good eyes and correct ear placement. Strong neck and well laid shoulders. Frim in topline with correct tail set. Moved well from behind.

Vary promising puppy. Lovely head with good eyes and well placed ears. Good reach of neck with good layback of shoulder, elbows nicely tucked in. Level top line and well angulated quarters. Moving really well. Another who should go on to do well.

Lovely puppy in super muscular condition. Good head which will get even better as he develops, good reach of neck. Good quality bone. Strong quarters with good width of thigh. Looked well.

Well-made b with good proportions. Lovely head, clean neck and firm couplings. She has well angulated quarters and won here on her more positive movement.

Rangier type but still balanced through. Correct head, straight front, just needs to settle on the move to do herself justice.

My Best of Breed in this lovely entry. Mature and well bodied with a well-shaped head and alert expression. Clean neck leads to well-placed shoulders. Good width and depth to her body without being overdone. Well angulated quarters. She moved well here keeping her topline and showing drive from behind.
2 Morton, Milicevic and Burns’ Sh Ch Andronjas Stradale
Another good one with so much to like. Well made through with good angulation front and rear. Not an easy decision made even harder by his positive movement both ways. Close decision.
3 Clubb and Mason’s Oroshaza Lucy Lockett

2 Bisset’s Albadhu Written In the Stars
Another good one sister to winner and also well developed and in hard muscular condition. Full of quality. Will be interesting to see how these two come on.

1 Brown’s Sussex Spaniel Saxonbejayz Elliot
Lovely mature boy with lots to like. Nothing overdone here. Good head with that typical expression and correctly placed ears. Well angulated shoulders leading to well-developed ribs. Firm loins giving a correct topline. Moved out well and presented in good coat. Best NSC.
2 Bain’s Curly Coated Ret Crimblescurl Time To Tango
One I have judged before and said would do well with maturity. Still young and my earlier comments still apply. Correctly shaped in head, strong neck of good length. Well laid shoulders. Strong in rib with strength over her quarters. Moderate in stifle and in super coat. Moved well. Close decision.
Gundog Group
An outstanding group with hard decisions to be made. All those shortlisted were of a high quality and showed well in the conditions.
Winner was Alcorn’s Weimaraner Sh Ch Gunalt Hendricks. Group 2 was the cocker spaniel Misperros Sophia Loren. Group 3 was HWHV Fitzrovia Gideons Way and group 4 went to Stevenson’s Clumber Banshee White Roll

This 8 year old caught my attention at the start and did not disappoint. Balanced through with sound construction and no real indication of his age. Straight in front and well angulated behind. Presented in first class coat and condition.
2 Brown’s Golden Ret Fenpinque Glitterspelle
Really splitting hairs here. this 9 year old presented a super outline when stacked and then showed a balanced profile no the move. Close decision. Another one to be proud of.
