Irish Wolfhound
PG (1): 1 RBOB Campbell-Woodford’s Whiteorchard Adhara at Kilmacduagh,
wheaten brindle of 2 years, presents a nice outline when she settles into
herself. Deep chest, good strength through the forearms, correct body ratios
with good length of body, arched loins & good bend of stifle. She was quite
challenging for her handler so was hard to assess especially on the move which
was a shame as I feel she could have been more competitive against her
challenger had she co-operated to really evaluate her.
O (2, 1a): 1 BOB Campbell-Woodford’s Kilmacduagh Aednat, mature brindle
bitch of 5 years. Kind eye, good strength of bone & stands over her ground,
deep chest, well arched toes, correct body length, good bend of stifle. Moved
well in the small space which gave her the edge over her kennelmate.
Dobermann
O (2, 1a): 1 BOB Amazon American Graffiti with Sealandair, solid b/t boy of 6
years. Impressive in outline, cuts a dash, well off for bone & substance, tight
feet, good forechest which you can feel, clean neck, well angulated quarters.
Moves well in side profile.
Cesky Terrier
P (1): 1 BP Weston’s Wherrypoint Engelbert, lovely boy of just 7 months, put
in a strong performance for one so young, lovely to go over, cheeky glint in
those eyes, good bone through the forearms, well laid shoulders, correct
ribbing & slight rise to well arched loin. Strong through the hindquarters & a
smart little mover.
PG (1): RBOB Burrage’s Komidion Sonata for Sametova, grey bitch of just over
a year old, she is incredibly well muscled which was lovely to see & feel. Lovely
head with good open nostrils, medium length body, well muscled hindquarters
with strong rear pasterns. She was a little fidgety today but I preferred her
front assembly to that of her kennelmate, Bacary, for RBOB.
O (2): 1 BOB England & Burrage’s Ch Ashleyheaths Black Thunder ShCM
ShCEx VW, noticed him as soon as he came into the ring – the way he held
himself & moved into place so confidently – just love that in a dog! He is in
such lovely condition both in terms of muscle & coat, it is hard to believe he is
9 years old. Quality throughout, lovely front assembly, well laid shoulders,
medium length body, well arched loin, well-muscled quarters, eye catching on
the move too – powerful & precise. Delighted to award him BOB; 2 Burrage’s
Sametova Bacary, grey dog of 3 years, in lovely condition, strong through the
neck, good ribbing with strong thighs & rear pasterns. Moved tidily.
AV Good Citizen Dog Scheme Stakes
(26): 1 Tadhunter’s WHWT, Otto The Maverick Prince, lovely solid mature boy
stands out both standing & moving. Lovely head with slightly domed skull,
strong neck, tight at the elbows, compact in outline with level topline, moved
& handled well; 2 Weyman’s ESS, Spuffing Prosecco, l/w bitch, put in a
confident performance for a junior, compact in appearance, lovely head in
profile with good length of ear, good bone for size, strong through the rear
pasterns, moved & handled well; 3 Strevens’ NSDTR, Tollisty You Can’t
Decline.
Gundog Group
G1 Elkin’s NSDTR, Tollelkin Caife Americano SWWC, what a lovely eye-catching boy with great ring presence & rapport with his skilled handler. He is
so very anatomically sound & balanced, he is hard to overlook. Then you get
your hands on him, & it is all there – slightly wedge shaped head, lovely front
assembly with deep chest, tight feet, strong through the loin, well angled
quarters with strong rear pasterns which he used to push off around the ring.
In lovely condition both in terms of muscle & coat. He is a quality boy, he
couldn’t be ignored.
G2 Rowlinson’s ESS, Meltarose Midshipman, another quality boy – a real
contender & really challenged hard. He certainly has a quality to him & I realise
now that I have judged & awarded him well in the past. Clean neck, brisket
down to elbow, stands & moves well, very stylish & smart. Hard to overlook,
delighted to find him again today.
G3 Irish Setter, Bluesprings Now I’m Here at Forestfire, a lovely boy who I
have done well for before. Stacks up well, clean neck into sloping shoulders,
good topline, moved well in side profile.
G4 Mennen & Sweeney’s Pointer, Joneva Just Imagine, raw o/w male puppy
who presents a lovely outline when settled. Clean over the neck & shoulders,
well-turned stifles - will take time to mature & fill out, did well today amongst
the adults.
Puppy Gundog Group
PG1 Crocker & Lewis’ Irish Setter, Riverbrue Ophelia Winky, I saw this puppy
just going about his day outside of the show ring & thought, “Cor, he’s nice!”
so I was delighted to see him confidently come into the puppy group ring for
me to judge. Stand out winner – so together & just so very anatomically sound,
lovely quality to him & he has that devilish glint in his eye like all the best show
dogs do! Lovely forechest, well laid shoulders, excellent topline, well angled
quarters & moved well with strong rear pasterns. Just loved him. Very well
handled.
PG2 Golden Retriever, Poile’s Summerramba Twizzle at Cherrimar, a lovely
sound bitch, pretty head, beautifully balanced in outline with level topline,
good bone & substance & yet still feminine, strong through the loin with good
hindquarters. Moved & handled well.
PG3 Tadhunter’s American Cocker, Taramount Pure Imagination, buff bitch,
very sound to go over, & did well in the cold conditions. Good forechest, spring
of rib & moved co-ordinately.
PG4 Mennen & Sweeney’s Pointer, Joneva Just Imagine, put in a good
performance & did well today in both adult & puppy groups. Well done!
