Norfolk & Norwich Canine Society

Many thanks to the Secretary and her committee for their kind invite to judge their friendly show at this spacious venue, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Many thanks to my stewards who kept the day flowing.


ALASKAN MALAMUTE

P 1(0)

1. Robb’s Icewolf Los Angeles Lakers. 10 month old male, full of himself today, masculine head and expression, well placed ears and good strength in skull, good neck and strong shoulders, good body proportions, when settled, he showed some promising reach and drive, presented in excellent coat, BP, PG3.

1. Robb’s Icewolf Jupiter Rising. 3½ year old feminine bitch with appealing head and expression, good bone and straight front, nicely proportioned and well muscled, presented in good coat, she moved out well showing some easy, ground covering movement, BOB.

1. Flaxman’s Derebern Catch The Sun. Really liked this bitch of 2 years but she was very reluctant to be assessed today which was a real shame, very feminine head with appealing expression, nicely balanced skull, good bone, correct body proportions, well muscled all through, showed some good movement when she settled, just needs more confidence to complete an otherwise pleasing picture.

1. Flaxman’s Glanzberg See The Sun. Nicely presented bitch of 6½ years, just preferred the overall skull of 1, feminine expression and dark eye, good neck and shoulders with sound, steady top-line, she moved out well in profile although I found her a little untidy on the out and back, in quality coat with good muscle tone, BOB.

1. Frosdick’s Mistycor Apollo Back To Black for Kalwig (imp RUS). Nicely presented 3 year old male with strong head and well placed ears, well muscled neck and good shoulder placement, good body proportions and plenty of muscle, he moved out well showing some easy reach and drive.

2. Burgoyne/Goddard’s Waterdeep Kosh. Another nice male of 2 years where I would have liked tighter feet, strong head and large, well set ears, good body proportions and well let down chest, strong loin and well muscled rear, presented in gleaming coat, he moved out well with purpose.

3. Graham’s Elessar Moon Dancer of Ancksunamun.

1. Burgoyne/Goddard’s Ch Waterdeep Ranger One JW ShCM ShCEx. Nicely balanced male of 5 years with strong, masculine head, strong muzzle and well placed ears, good neck leading into an excellent shoulder placement, good feet and bone, he moved out well with an easy, ground covering gait, presented in excellent, well toned condition, BOB & G1.

2. Frosdick’s Ch Elmsmere Co Star for Kalwig. A lovely bitch of 4 years with kind feminine head and expression, good eye and large ears, well placed front and sound well muscled rear, she moved out well with an easy gait, just today lacked a little animation and interest today.

1. Wale’s Chanina Golden Rose. Very feminine bitch of 15 months who looked well in outline and moved freely around the ring, lovely expressive head with dark eye, correct skull and ear-set, long, lean neck leading into a well placed shoulder, lovely deep chest and correct rib, she looked so elegant moving, presented in well muscled condition with coat of excellent quality, BOB.

2. Grimsdell’s Tattersett Dark Amber. Another lovely bitch of 13 months with lots of quality, feminine, expressive head with dark eye, well muscled neck and good shoulder, correct body proportions, good rib, short loin, moved out freely with purpose, presented in immaculate condition.

1. Naulls’ Silmanhurst Golden Hugo. 8 year old male with masculine, expressive head, straight front with good bone, nicely angulated front and rear with sound body proportions, moved out well in profile just a little untidy on the out and back, presented in clean, quality coat.

1. Beresford’s Tuptonsett Buttercup. Promising young bitch of 7 months, lovely feminine head and dark expressive eye, well muscled strong neck leading to a well placed shoulder, straight front and good depth of chest, correct rib and length, nicely angulated rear, when she settled she showed some promising movement in all directions.

2. Calver’s Loki Son Of Odin. Male of 10 months of good size, kind head and expression, well muscled neck and strong shoulders, good body proportions and sound top-line, not as free on the move as 1.

1. Blacker/Khan-Blacker’s Zakova Aurora. Nicely presented young bitch of 11 months, clean, feminine head with expressive eye and balanced skull nicely angulated front and rear with straight front and good bone, good depth of chest, rib and short muscular loin, looked lovely in profile but just needs to settle on the move to see her at her best, presented in clean, well muscled condition, BP.

2. Gordon’s Lovelwood Bellissima. 13 month old bitch where I would have liked a stronger muzzle and preferred the overall head of my winner but this young bitch had a strong neck and good shoulder, straight front and good bone, strong top-line and good depth of chest, she moved out ok but seemed very anxious about her surroundings, well muscled and in clean coat.

1. Beresford’s Tuptonsett Paloma. Very feminine bitch of 19 months, lovely kind head and expression, good ear-set, well muscled neck and a pleasing front assembly, straight front and good bone with compact feet, good depth of chest and correctly shaped rib, short, well muscled loin, sound rear, she moved without effort in an easy, ground covering gait, presented in beautiful condition, BOB.

Gordon’s Robincroft Me And My Girl. 5½ year old bitch who I felt was a little too fine in the head and lacked substance, well muscled neck and straight front, satisfactory in angulation, would have liked a little less tuck-up and more balance throughout, presented in well muscled, clean condition.

1. Begg’s Sumaric Sweet Lit’l Mystery. What a lovely young bitch of just 6 months who took everything in her stride today, feminine, expressive head with dark eye, good neck and well angulated shoulder, sound top-line, good depth of chest and rib, strong loin, she moved out well enough, just needs more practise, presented in excellent coat.

1. Cox’s Tiroen To The Moon and Back. Really liked this 3 year old bitch who was presented in beautiful condition, lovely feminine expressive head with dark eye, good ear-set, well muscled neck leading into a well placed shoulder, correct length to height ratio, good rib and strong loin, liked her outline standing and moving, graceful and elegant in all directions, lovely rich coat and well muscled all through.

2. Davis’ Pawsword Prairie Wind with Alanasett JW. 6 year old male presented in lovely, well muscled condition with an abundance of coat, masculine head with lovely dark eye, good neck and well placed shoulders, good body proportions, he showed some sound movement in all directions.

So nice to judge a group of dogs with such lovely temperaments, their tails never stopped!

1. Goodwin/Bishop’s Tweedledum Silenze Is Golden at Yalbury. Nicely presented yellow bitch of 10 months with appealing, feminine head, strong neck and well placed shoulder, straight front with good bone and compact feet, well muscled all through with sound rear which she used to good effect on the move, lovely temperament, BP. 

2. Shakeshaft’s Warringah’s Coorumba. Promising young black bitch of 7 months, a little up in the rear at this stage, feminine but strong head with lovely dark eye, good neck and shoulders, good depth of chest and correct rib, she moved out well with good reach and drive, well muscled and in fit condition.

1. McLellan’s Wynfaul Resolution for Saranden. Very feminine bitch of 15 months with lovely expressive head and dark eye, strong muzzle and balanced skull, strong neck and well placed shoulder, straight front and good feet, correct body proportions, good depth of chest and correct rib, strong loin, lovely tail and very easy on the move, an appealing young bitch with lots of promise, I believe this gave her the final point for her JW, congratulations.

2. Goodwin/Bishop’s Tweedledum Silenze Is Golden at Yalbury. 1st in Puppy.

1. McLellan’s Wynfaul Happy New Year for Saranden. Another lovely bitch of 15 months who I later saw was the littermate to my previous class winner, the same qualities apply, lovely feminine head and well placed shoulders, sound body proportions and top-line, straight front, good bone and compact feet, showed lovely promising easy movement, another who received her final point for her JW, well done! BOB & G3.

2. Reeve’s Sherefair Molly Merlot. Chocolate bitch of 3 years with feminine, expressive head who wasn’t happy with her surroundings today, nicely balanced with good bone and feet, well muscled and fit, she moved out well enough.

1. Goodwin/Bishop’s Centenalee Ice Dancer at Yalbury. 5 year old bitch with feminine head and expression, lovely eye, good ear-set, sound body proportions with good depth of chest, straight front and good bone, compact feet, she moved out freely covering the ground well.

2. Burroughs’ Annakay Billy Jean. 3 year old bitch with feminine head who looked well in outline standing and moving, straight front, well muscled shoulders and good rib, not quite as free on the move as my class winner today but presented in fit, well muscled condition.

Upstanding male of 8 months with masculine head, dark eye and balanced skull, strong neck and well placed shoulders, straight front with good feet, sound body proportions and well muscled rear, he showed some promising movement in all directions, beautifully presented in immaculate coat, lovely temperament.

2. Cook’s Pernickety Loonie (Miniature Pinscher). Loved this young bitch of just 6 months, very confident with feminine head and dark eye, nicely made with good proportions, when settled, she showed some very promising movement, presented in beautiful condition with excellent temperament.

3. Beckwith’s Sheigra Special Secret (Spaniel (Cocker)).

Watts’ Oakleaf Manor Bay of Oakmarsh (imp DEU) (Retriever (Chesapeake Bay)). 10 month old bitch who presented a lovely outline standing and moving, appealing, feminine head with expressive eye, nicely angulated all through and good depth of chest, steady top-line, she moved out well with easy reach and drive, presented in excellent coat, this was my 3rd judged dog that gained their final JW points today, congratulations!

2. Moore’s Pernickety Gus Gus Gus (Miniature Pinscher). Male of 11 months, another of this breed with lovely attitude, masculine head with lovely dark eye, straight front and correct bone, good body proportions, he moved out well when settled into his stride, presented in immaculate condition with good muscle tone.

3. Marshall’s Wissant Very Special Agent (Spaniel (Cocker)).


BEST IN SHOW

Cross’ Ch. Loggeta Trouble in Texas (Dachshund (Long-Haired). Lovely example of his breed at nearly 3 years who stood out for quality and ring presence, gorgeous masculine head and expression, strong muzzle with dark eye, good neck and lovely front angulation, correct body proportions and well muscled rear with strong loin, he owned that ring and he knew it! Beautifully presented in rich, good quality coat, he moved out well with confidence and purpose.


RESERVE BEST IN SHOW

Gaskin’s Shadowemane Elderberry Wine at Dovestream (Spaniel (American Cocker). Eye catching bitch of nearly 3 years with lovely ring presence, feminine head and expression, good front and shoulders, well muscled rear, sound top-line, she moved beautifully around the ring and was presented in excellent, well muscled condition.


BEST PUPPY IN SHOW

Smith’s Rapanooey Sugar Donut (Dalmatian). Promising male of 10 months who showed his socks off to win this award, masculine head with lovely expression and dark eye, well muscled neck, good shoulder placement and well muscled rear, this young male covered the ground with an easy, free gait, presented in immaculate condition. 


RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW

Sladden’s Valcot The Confessor at Canemamans (Bracco Italiano). It was one of these days when I wished I could have had 2 BPIS awards to hand out, a lovely male of 9 months with masculine, strong head, lovely body proportions, good depth of chest and was so free and easy on the move, another presented in immaculate condition with good muscle. 


BEST VETERAN IN SHOW

Warnes’ Ch. Myhaven Chocolate Fancy JW ShCM (Poodle (Miniature)). An immaculately presented male of 8 years who showed no signs of his age, light and free in his movement, he was another with a confident air and it showed! Lovely head and expression with dark eye, good body proportions, he was presented in excellent condition with good muscle.


RESERVE BEST VETERAN IN SHOW

Benton’s Oakestelle Venue De Milo VW. (Collie (Smooth)). What a beautiful bitch of 8 years, very feminine head with endearing expression, good ear-set, strong, well muscled neck leading into a lovely front assembly, correct body proportions, she moved around the ring so accurately with effortless extension and drive, a really lovely bitch.
