Welsh Corgi League

Many thanks to the Northern Section of the Welsh Corgi League for their kind invitation to judge their open show, a warm welcome awaited me and it was a lovely, relaxed event in a nice venue.

VD 1(0)

1. Bruce’s Ir Ch. Whitepoint Dodging Daggers via Manto. 7 year old with good body proportions and masculine head, nice eye and good ears, nicely angulated front and rear with good muscle tone and sound top-line, felt he moved a little wide in front and ‘hocked out’ in rear movement, presented in clean and fit condition, BVD.

JD 1(0)

1. Bruce’s Woodhenge Star Mariner (NBT). 13 month old with good body proportions and bone, masculine head with nice eye and alert expression, good neck and satisfactory angulation front and rear but would have liked a better placed front overall, another who was loose in rear movement but presented in excellent condition, RBD.

GD 1(0)

1. Roper’s Cardigan Bay. 3 year old where I would have liked better head proportions but nice dark eye and expression, well muscled body with satisfactory angulation front and rear although would have liked a stronger loin, good bone, moved out ok, presented in lovely condition.

1. Down’s Elessar Royal Salute. Very strong masculine head with dark eye and kind expression, good bone and body proportions, good neck with satisfactory angulation, moved out ok but lacked reach and drive, presented in clean, well muscled condition.

1. Barlow’s Woodhenge Star Agent for Pendrell (NBT). Nicely made male of nearly 5 years, pleasing head and kind expression, good eye and ear-set, tidy feet with good bone and body proportions, nicely angulated front and rear, sound top-line, well muscled rear, he moved out well showing some good reach and drive, BD & BIS.

2. Alexander/Davies’ Ermyn Knight Of The Realm. Nicely presented male of 5½ years, much stronger all through and in profuse, clean coat, another who was nicely angulated front and rear with good body proportions, good muscle and lovely temperament.
