American Cocker Spaniel

Jun (1)

1st Bedding & Jennings Alibama Now or Never. Handsome 13 month buff with a really cracking head, good length and depth of muzzle, kind well shaped eye of good size and plenty of slightly domed back skull. Powerful neck flowed smoothly into an excellent forehand, strong sloping topline finished off with a well built rear. Showed great reach and drive on the move, he will be interesting to seen when he is fully mature BOB

1st Bedding & Jennings Alibama Now or Never (repeat)

2nd Luczynski Baladeva Scarlet Letters for Kanara ShCM ShCEx Pretty little black bitch on the smaller end of the scale. Standing she looked a picture with just enough muzzle, nicely shaped head, clean outline and well sprung rib. Broad thigh and well shaped feet. She was really not happy on the move pulling away from her handler which meant her movement suffered.

Open (3)

1st Edwards Afterglow Bang Tidy. Excellent black dog with an eye catching outline, lovely head with plenty of plush muzzle and a dark, cheeky eye. I liked his forehand assembly and powerful driving quarters, he could do with being a touch shorter coupled to balance him out. Close decision in the challenge but just preferred the overall length on the buff so he had to settle for RBOB

2nd Jones Alkimadus Ruben James Well upto size dog with a good head and eye, well set shoulder with a good spring of rib. He was not as strong in the rear as 1st but moved out true.

English Springer Spaniel

Jun (1)

1st Lewis & Bullock Trixhund This Is My Destiny. 12 month dog with a kind eye set in a good skull with length to foreface, at his age his head still needs to break and finish but has promise. Strong through the neck with a lovely layback of shoulder, deep rib and well made quarters. He was enjoying himself a bit too much on the move but settled enough for me to see his action. RBOB

 Open (1)

1st Lewis & Bullock Trixhund Foxtrot Oscar. Well built liver tri with a handsome head, plenty of stop and fluting. Firm through the neck and shoulder with a strong front assembly. Plenty of deep ribs under a strong topline and powerful broad read that gave fabulous movement showing true reach and drive. BOB and delighted to hear he took Group 4

A lovely class of very promising babies

1st Trickett Cfyre’s High Tea at Tollpepper (imp Can) NAF. NSDTR. What a lovely typy little bitch with the sweetest of heads and a true alert expression. I really loved her outline, cracking angulation front and rear, short back with a firm topline and good depth for her age. Balanced movement with a jaunty action.

2nd Priestley Eltrym’s Talihina Sky. Hungarian Vizla Upstanding bitch with a rich, deep colour Lean head with depth to the muzzle and pleasing earset. Strong arched neck flowed to level topline, good front & rear angulation with a lovely spring of rib. Showed ground covering movement

Jun (18)

1st Osborn Elgert Back To The Future. Field Spaniel. This boy tried very hard to lose this class but settled on the move. Classic head with balanced proportions and a noble expression. Firm through the neck and a pleasing layback of shoulder flowed nicely into a strong topline which he held well on the move. Plenty of bone and substance and well muscled rear, he won this class on his fabulous movement, steady and unhurried but covering the ground. Handler just needs to get him to stand as well as he moves

2nd Elkin Tollelkin Dream Harbour. NSDTR Upstanding male, masculine wedge shaped head with alert expression. Firm through the neck and shoulder with a short back and strong coupling, not as mature in body at the moment but still only a youngster. Moved out straight and true

3rd Hadfield Covarney Time After Time for Marzanne

1st Elkin Tollelkin Dream Harbour (Repeat 2nd in prev class)

2nd Whittaker Pingarypoint Milk Shake. GSP. Well made bitch with a pleasing head, correct foreface and kind eye. Clean through the neck and shoulder and balanced rear. Workmanlike on the move, just a fraction heavier than my ideal.

3rd Griffths-Rose & Griffiths Vonstrahlend Kam Das Leben

Open (9)

1st Burgess Greyspirit Rock Star from Hantzburg. Upstanding Weimaraner male of good size but balanced. Head of good length with moderate stop. Strong neck into clean shoulders with good muscling. Ribs well sprung with depth to the chest and body. Moderately angulated in the rear with ample width giving lots of drive on the move.

2nd Nightingale Flyenpyg Snazzy Sniffer. Labrador.Lovely black bitch with the best of heads and sweet expression, she really used her ears well. Powerful through the neck and shoulder with a pleasing flow to her outline and deep well sprung ribs. Strong wide rear finished the picture. She pushed the winner hard but she just lacked his sparkle on the move.

Special Veteran (7-9 years)

1st Lewis & Bullock Trixhund Talking Obsession JW ShCM ShCEx. Classic ESS with a stunning outline full of strength and muscle. Masculine head with correct stop, lean cheeks and true fluting. Clean through the neck and shoulder flowing beautifully into a firm topline with plenty of rib, broad well muscled rear, strong bone and excellent feet. He used that muscle to great advantage on the move with the true Springer action. He demanded Best Veteran and I was thrilled to hear he later took Best Veteran in Show. A true credit to his owners

2nd Thandiwe Legato Con Moto. L/Roan Field Spaniel with a masculine, kind head and a cheeky eye. Loved his outline, correct in height to length with balanced angulations and a strong topline. He certainly doesn’t show himself off especially on the move but is well worth a second look as he has many breed qualities

3rd Simons Gwenadillo Montesori Coedylan

1st Lightfoot Gaesten Just Jago at Joydon. Lagotto Romagnolo. Hard to believe this boy was 12 years old, he was in fabulous condition. Short, strong loin and good length of thigh; well let down strong hocks. Pleasing woolly textured coat with plenty of curl. Moved soundly and freely.

2nd Jones Alkimadus Gwn Ben Y Gandigan.B/T American Cocker of good size and substance, still showing a strong outline and holding his topline well. Balanced fore and aft in good coat and condition. He was struggling a little in the heat but still moved true.
