Wealdstone & Northolt Canine Society

Dalmatian

I would firstly like to thank the exhibitors for such a lovely entry on a bank holiday just after Christmas. Unfortunately the venue was slightly chaotic, and the ring wasn’t ideal for a moving breed such as ours – it was on the small size and mats weren’t supplied meaning that it was slippery. Some dogs really struggled with this and just weren’t able to move to their full potential. Nevertheless I was thrilled with my top awards and thank you to the exhibitors who took decisions with real sportsmanship. Many thanks also to my steward Suzi, for having the ring moving well and keeping everyone in check.

PUPPY (3, 1ab)

1st WILLIAMSON’S SHYDALLY ULTIMATE EDITION

10 month old black spotted dog who was very attentive to his handler. Lovely dark pigment and dark eye, chest developing nicely, well off for bone with level topline. He strode out well with superb front reach, has lovely spring of rib and the most inquisitive expression. Nice bend of stifle and let down hocks, with tight cat feet to complete the picture. Sadly he has a tendency to carry his tail high on the move which ultimately cost him in the challenge. Overall a nice, well schooled puppy.

2nd NEATH-DUGGAN & COYNE’S KELEVRA PICKLE MY FENNEL WITH BUFFREY

6 month old liver bitch at her first show and found the proceedings so exciting. Evenly spotted with rich liver pigment and nice amber eye, very pretty feminine head with correct skull to muzzle proportions. Her fore chest, topline and muscles are developing well and has nice bend of stifle for one so young. She has the most delightful happy temperament and moved with enthusiasm but sadly didn’t like the slippery floor which affected her movement at times. Definitely one to watch once she gets into the swing of it all, she’s a very nice well balanced and elegant puppy.

JUNIOR (1)

1st BAKER’S KELEVRA CHIVE TALKING WITH DALLEAF

6 month old black boy also at his first show. Lovely deep pigmentation and dark eye with a cheeky expression. Masculine head with correct skull to muzzle proportions, he is nicely boned, has good reach of neck and excellent shoulder set. Fore chest, spring of rib and rear muscles are developing nicely leading to a good bend of stifle and superb rear angulation. Level topline, which he held on the move, and correct tailset which didn’t stop wagging. He has a lovely confident temperament, is beautifully schooled and attentive to handler. Strode out with good rear drive for one so young. Couldn’t be denied BPIB

POST GRADUATE (6)

This was such a strong class, I ended up having to split hairs to make my decision. All dogs in the class deserved a placing, and those lower down in the line up should not be disheartened.

1st COLLIER’S KALLIERBELLE BLUEBELLE

Beautiful 2 year old black spotted bitch who was so well handled. Feminine head with well broken ears on correct carriage. Correct skull and muzzle proportions, nice strong neck into firm topline which she kept on the move. Good deep chest, spring of rib and good bone set. Lovely bend of stifle and tight cat feet. She showed so well throughout and didn’t put a foot wrong, she powered around the ring with full control whilst maintaining elegance. A very balanced and honest bitch, she’s everything a dalmatian should be, right down to her cheeky personality. Very well deserved BOB

2nd SIMS KOROYZA HFRANA FLOKI FOR SNOWSPEEDER

20 month old handsome black spotted boy who had his silly hat on today. He has lovely dark pigment and had one of the best spotting patterns of the day. He does have a tendency to lean into his stand, but is so eye catching when he’s standing properly. Masculine skull with nicely broken ears, strong neck into deep chest and firm topline. Good spring of rib, well muscled and boned with nice bend of stifle. Delightful personality, you can tell he adores his handler, and I was delighted to award him RBOB. One to watch when he further matures and settles down

3rd PENN’S DALFELLIN AGAPE

OPEN (3)

1st COLLIER’S KALLIERBELLE CEITHIR

19 month old lightly spotted black bitch with feminine head and broken ears. She has a strong neck to good shoulder set and level topline. Good bend of stifle with lovely rear angulation, she is well boned and muscled. Very balanced bitch and moved with correct tracking, but does have a tendency to carry her tail high on the move which spoils her outline on the move. This should change as she firms up and develops. She was attentive to her handler and one of the best schooled of the day. She is only just out of junior so time is on her side to fully complete the picture.

2nd GRAHAM’S DOTLUN SORELLA’S PHANCY AT RAVOLD

10 year old black girl who pushed hard for 1st place, but sadly couldn’t quite beat the youthfulness of 1st. Evenly spotted with dark pigmentation, feminine head, another with a cheeky expression and is still mischievous despite her years which made her handler work hard. She has a deep chest, good bone and muscle. Lovely bend of stifle and rear angulation with tight cat feet which gives her a good range of movement. She was really enjoying her day out and showed so beautifully amongst the younger girls, showing that she can still power around the ring with the best of them

3rd TYSTERMAN’S CARODAL JACOBS LADDER
