South Of England Gundog Club

German Longhaired pointer, Open, 1st BOB and BPIB, Connors Caldera crimson glory at de Melvilles, lovely pup of 10 months. Was pleased to have the opportunity to judge one after attending the BAD. Feminine head with soft expression, all in correct proportions, close set ears with feathering, Good neck leading to well placed shoulders, good outline held on the move. Good coat and condition. Should have a promising future.

Gordon Setters. Puppy 3, (1a) 1st and BPIB Whiting Locksheath april in paris. Feminine girl, not as mature as 2nd place but today held better outline stacked and on the move. Head coming on nicely with soft kind eye and expression, good length of neck and sloping shoulders,good angulation, strong stifles and moved with drive . 2nd McCarthy Hernwood wizard of oz, close up to 1st not as settled on move. Masculine head, good body proportions, good forechest and rib, in good coat. Both promising pups.

Special Yearling 5 (2a) 1st and BOB Poynters Hernwood Cooper King, took my eye on entering the ring, so much show attitude. Stylish young lad who moves with plenty of drive and flair. Clean balanced outline, handsome head with soft expression ,full of breed type, well muscled up and in excellent coat, Well handled. 2nd Morgans Caradilis Sky rocket, another promising lad but I preferred head of 1st. Well off for bone and holds good outline and scored over 3rd in forechest and rib. Moved out well when he settled. In lovely coat and condition. 3rd Thomas Chartan Maple Mayhem

Post grad 4(1a) 1st and BOS , Gunnerys Longrow love of my life Headed a class of varying types. Preferred her head to the others, has good length of neck,good forehand, well bodied with good bone and feet. Moved steady. 2nd Harris AnniMacrae Dowry town, Stronger in head than 1st, good chest and rib, nice outline. well muscled up, in good coat, bit flat footed but moved out ok. 3rd Williams Longrow foxy lady. Little unsure of herself today which was a pity.

Limit (4) Good class, all 4 very good examples, close decisions. 1st Bryants Kilnrae Hallmark JW Won on his lovely head type and profile. Presents a lovely picture stacked and moving. Good neck and forehand, good depth of chest, well muscled quarters, in lovely coat, Close up for res BOB. 2nd Horler Hernwood jack o lantern by Rackens JW, another quality lad, just preferred head and eye of 1st, well off for bone, good depth of rib and correct shoulders, in great coat, well muscled and moved with drive. 3rd Upton Lovett Roydack peaky blinder.

Open 9(4 a) 1st and Res BOB Tye’s Kyuna Olympic arrow of Tymora Shcm VW 10 years old and still has it. Full of breed type, lovely head albeit a touch grey, well balanced, good through body, well boned and holds nice outline. Moved true and steady which gave him the edge over the younger dogs. 2nd Timmerman Cornum & Wellings Ch Munroc Beretta WW21, close up to 1st, lovely head, dark eye and expression, long neck, good shoulders and body, also holds nice outline on move, well muscled up. 3rd Sandiford Hernwood Christmas eve, completed a lovely trio.

Varieties: Shame lots of absentees in these classes.

Minor Puppy dog, 3 promising lads. 1st Irish setter, Parsons Quensha thinking out loud at Bransett, liked his profile stacked and moving. Lovely head and expression, body coming along nicely for age. Moved well. 2nd Worralls Moonreed Drake Lagotto, liked his head, strong muzzle, correct proportions ,compact body, moved with power, woolly coat texture, 3rd Finch Silberliss Peckham pouncer, little unsettled as handler dashed from other ring but came good in later class.

Minor puppy bitch, 1stand BAV Pup, Welch, Drake and Hazeltines Clamerkin jubilee surprise at Hookwood, Pointer, just 6 months but so full of type, classic pointer outline, good front and forechest, feminine head, expertly handled. 2nd Finch Silberliss saucy mare, feminine weimaraner, nice head and eye, good body,correct ratio, good stifles, moved with purpose. 3rd Phipps Baker Maddouse hippi hippi shayk Goldie.

Puppy dog 1st Silberliss Peckham pouncer, much more settled in this class, promising pup, handsome head, clean neck, good through body, well muscled up. 2nd Roberts Kananaskis band of gold. o/w pointer. Presented lovely picture stacked but today movement was erratic and hard to assess. Preferred his head to 3rd. 3rd Ovel Hookwook Love actually at Jimaura. Pointer

Puppy bitch 1st Roberts Kananaskis Black bryony, pointer Lovely outline stacked and on the move, nice feminine head and expression, moved well. 2nd Silberiss Saucymare. See previous. 3rd Goldie Phipps Baker Maddouse must be trouble.

Field Trial.4 (2a) 2 nice Gordon Setters mum and daughter. 1st Thomas Chartan maple mayhem and 2nd Thomas Chartan treacle tart JW . Both very typy, nice heads and expression. On the day 1 moved better and had better coat. Both shown in hard muscular condition.

Special Working 9 (2a) 1st NSDTR, Elkins Tollerkin caife americano sgwc, quality boy, wedge head, alert eye and expression, good through body, gleaming double coat of rich red, moved with reach and drive. 2nd Steedens H/Vizsla Lindenwood hocus pocus, promising young girl, presented good profile stacked and moving, liked her head and body. 3rd IWS Hempsteads Riverforest irish eider at Cuvana.

Special show/working 11 (4a) Another good class of working gundogs headed by the Chesapeake Watts Oakmarsh acorn VW. This breed I have been following since doing the BAD, This mature girl is full of quality, certainly doesn’t look 12. Solid and substantial, broad head, power through shoulders and hindquarters, I hope she gets that 3rd CC as so deserves her title. AV Crufts qualified . 28 ( 19 a) Lovely class to end the day on as all were excellent . 1st IWS Fynder Reacher, Always admired this kennels stock. Handsome lad of quality ,Alert expression, Great personality, sound happy mover ,dense tight curls, well handled to win this very good class. 2nd Pointer Droveboroughs Mocha mayhem, feminine head, classic outline stacked and on the move, long neck leading to good forechest and rear, well muscled up. 3rd Gordon Hernwood jack o lantern by Rackens .
