Shropshire Gundog Society

I would like to thank the committee for this invitation to judge at their well run show. It’s a shame more gundog people don’t support this show as they have a lovely spacious venue with plenty of parking and great prizes.

Weimaraners. Puppy 1 absent. Junior 1st and BOB Matthews Silvermews Solaris. Young lad just over a year old and very excitable, enjoying his day. Liked his profile, had a well developed chest for his age, and good shoulders . Handsome head and expression. Moved out well once settled. Preferred his topline to open winner. 2 Rockstros Silvermews Celinka, litter sister to 1st and has same qualities, just not as settled as her brother on the day and not quite the maturity in body, but 2 nice exhibits. 3rd Poultneys Bissellwood Boadicea. Post grad. 1st Houghs Braithwaite Northern boy, big chap who is well off for bone and substance, well muscled up. Liked his profile and had correct topline and tailset. In BOB challenge wouldn’t put his head up so spoilt his outline but still a quality boy.

Open 1st and res BOB Mcmahons Silverkelvin Jupiter over Magdala, 4 year old chap who scored in head and expression. Had correct body proportions but on the day was dipping topline slightly so lost out to younger dog for BOB. Shown in hard muscular condition and well handled.

Bracco . Puppy 1st , BOB BPIB. Goodes Viljetuns Viking Sigurd at Brackenvale imp nor. My star of the day. What a handsome chap who not only is full of breed type but has show attitude and ring presence. Loved his head and expression. Strong square body and powerful neck. Moved with drive and purpose. Heard he has got his JW subject to KC. Grad Absent. Open 1st and Res BOB Goodes Rus de viaro Olympia imp Rus. Another nice puppy . Feminine in head, has good front and hindquarters, not as collected on the move today as kennel mate but with bit more maturity will give him a run for his money. Both shown in hard muscular condition.

Brittany open. 1st and BOB Taylor and Gills Rennes de Pasmazgeng. Quality tri boy who stood alone but a worthy winner. Held good outline on the move, liked his head, Good depth of chest, cobby in body and correct topline. Capable of doing a days work.

Hungarian Vizslas. Big variance in type in this class. Grad 1st and BOB Dears Aldon Douglas fir . Was my winner as had best forechest and breastbone in the class. Could be better handled to show his outline when stacked. Liked head and expression.Moved ok when settled. 2nd and Res BOB Maidens and Richards Vizvale Golden empress, young girl who needs to develop in forechest. Has feminine head with good eye. Short back. Moved ok. 3rd Di Cesare Highforce I feel free. Open, 1st repeat of grad class. 2nd Maidens and Richards, Whipspan royal performance, very lively girl. Would prefer more chest and rib. Correct dentition. Nice eye. Well handled.
