South Eastern Counties Toy Dog Society

South Eastern Counties Toy Dog Society - 24th April 2022

Thank you to the society for their invitation to judge Chihuahua L/C and S/C Bitches, also for the warm hospitality I received. Thank you to the exhibitors for supporting the entry, myself being a replacement, change of judge and for the sporting way they accepted my decisions. Thank you to our Stewards Justine Stratton and Beryl Lloyd for maintaining a smooth running ring in an efficient manner. I particularly enjoyed Co judging alongside Breed Specialist Miss Kacey Leigh Green (Ellochi). When jointly awarding top honours and awards, we compared some interesting thoughts and found similarities in line with the KC. Breed Standard to conclude full agreement. A very enjoyable day indeed!

Chihuahua Long Coat

P (6,2) 1. Smart- Mcmullan’s Doobyave Wilma Bluedu – 10mths tri colour bitch – a pretty girl with such appealing expression. Loved her gorgeous dark round eyes, cute button nose, super rise from the stop and correctly set, flaring ears. Level topline flowing into a sickle tail. Body proportions were nicely balanced. Beautiful coat, feathering to the standard with a ruff on her neck. Confident little mover, who did her best to please her handler. Quite a stunning outline as she stood beautifully to win this class. 2. Dees Lowenchi Molly Mae – 8mnths cream bitch – another very lovely puppy, pretty head, beautiful dark pigment and appealing, expressive eyes, large flaring ears. Good reach of neck into a strong, level topline. Slightly longer than tall. Super sickle tail carried well. Moved with reach and drive. Very attentative to her handler. Not quite as mature as 1, but so much more to come from this lovely girl.

O (2,1)1. Lee’s Barwater Agatha Christie of Ridgehawk – 3yrs tri colour bitch. What a beautiful girl, quite striking colouring, markings and presented in fabulous condition. Such a pretty head, darkest round eye, with large flaring ears. Underneath her super soft coat, she had such lovely bone. Sufficient reach of neck covered by a lovely ruff, correct lay of shoulder, firm topline, barrel ribs. Sickle tail, carried high and full as a plume. Lovely straight front, tight elbows and strong drive from the rear, very sound on the move. I particularly liked her temperament and demeaner – alert, assertive, confident and calm – a real distinguished, quality showgirl currently in her prime. I liked everything about her, nothing over or underdone, so close to breed standard. Pleased to award Best Bitch and overall BOB in a joint decision with my Co judge.

Res. BOB – Osbourne’s Parisland Stuart Little for Bornoz – 2yrs red male. The most beautiful apple domb head, short muzzle and largest dark eyes. Super construction and deep barrel ribs. Well toned rear and good turn of stifle. Moved soundly coming and going. Lovely temperament, calm and confident. Awarded Best Dog by my Co Judge and jointly with myself Res. BOB.

BPB. – Lee’s Ridgehawk Chiler Sandie – 11mths red male. What a happy little showman. Masculine saucy expression and super outine. Very balanced, holding a strong topline and sickle tail carried well. Lovely coat and correct featherings. Very sound youngster, great straight front and perfectly parallel hocks. Foot perfect on the move, taking him to BPD awarded by my Co Judge and jointly awarded BPB in a joint decision with my Co judge.

Chihuahua Smooth Coat

P (2,1)1. Murry’s Davixity Galore – 10mths cream bitch. First impression, she lit up the ring, an absolute dazzler. Closer inspection confirmed my initial look. Very confident and happy both hands on and freestanding. The prettiest apple domb head, dark pigment, appealing expression, moderately short muzzle into a slight point. Balanced proportions throughout, lovely reach of neck flowing into a level topline. Text book sickle tail carried high throughout. Movement brisk and forceful. Lovely straight front and rear. Confident showgirl, knew her job, owned the ring and also attentative to her handler. Limited handling was needed today, a natural, she took it all in her stride. Pleased to award Best Bitch and then jointly my Co Judge BPIB, Res. BOB. Delighted to see her awarded Res Best Puppy in Show – indeed an honour for her at this Toy Specialist Show amongst some truly quality Toy Dogs – very well done!

J (2,1) 1. Sutton’s Nikitos Notwhitebutivory - 11mths cream bitch. A real quality bitch, beautiful profile and proportions. Super head and dark round eyes. Sufficient reach of neck with firm topline and sickle tail. Very sound on the move, true both coming and going. Expertly handled to achieve the very best presentation, she responded well to please. Pushed hard for BB, however on this occasion the Best Bitch exhibited stronger showmanship. Both quality bitches who could easily change places on another day. I liked her very much, one to watch and a bright future ahead.

O (1) 1. Sutton’s Nikitos Neversaidnuffin – 20mths fawn bitch. A pleasing headpiece, saucy expression, expressive eyes, good stop and the largest, flaring ears. A little nervous on the table, but not shy. Slightly longer that tall, holding correct tail set. Moved steadily, holding a level back. Another quality bitch from this Kennel.

BOB – Davidson – Poston’s Davixity Bruhn Spinillions – 3yrs tri colour male. A quality exhibit shown in gleaming and toned condition. Super apple domb head piece, short muzzle with a slight point. Darkest round eyes and well set ears. Sufficient reach of neck flowing into a spirit level topline and text book sickle tail. Fab spring of rib and nice square profile. Strong bone, super straight front with good turn of stifle. Great pasterns and tight feet, which landed perfectly at every step. Moved with reach, drive and confidence. A mature and quality boy in his absolute prime. Awarded BD by my Co judge and jointly with myself BOB.
