Humberside Hound Association

Firstly I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge. Secondly thank you to the exhibitors for the opportunity to judge your lovely whippets. And thirdly thank you to my 2 stewards today that kept everything flowing smoothly.

Puppy- 8 (2)

One of the toughest classes to judge today, with a lot of quality puppies to judge. And on a different day places could easily change.

1st- Myers’ Supeta’s taste the rainbow with astrazone.

9 month old brindle white trim. Very feminine, still raw but with a lot to like. Nice size, lovely head complete with rose shaped ear. Long neck which flowed in to well laid back shoulders, tight neat feet. Excellent topline. Needs to drop in brisket but still young. Correct rear angulation. Balanced. True going and coming, moved well. Was glad to award her Bpib and I was delighted to see her go BPIS. Very bright future ahead for this young lady.

2nd- Johnston & Wilson’s Danluke don’t I know it

Another quality puppy, at the tender age of 6 months brindle girl, very feminine. A good fill in front with a deep chest for so young. Followed by a nice curvy underline with topline to match. Favourable head with a kind eye. Still some maturing to do. Again another with correct rear angulation. She seemed unsettled in the echoey hall today but once settled move out very well. Another one I will watch with interest, bright future ahead of her.

3rd- Worrall’s Khabaray Olive D’champers

Junior- 1

1st - Gordon’s Batnior Lady Victoria

Stood alone in this class. Blue, girl of 13 months. Lovely coat, definite tuck up and neat feet. Just moving slightly wide in front.

Novice- 7 (2)

See above in puppy 1st- Supeta’s taste the rainbow with astrazone.

See above in puppy 2nd- Johnston & Wilson’s Danluke don’t I know it

A lot more settled in this class.

3rd- Dickson’s Collooney Queen aslaug

Post Graduate- 6

1st- Salkeld’s Crosscop A dream come true

Fawn girl, 2 years old. Bit of a fidget on the table but a very happy friendly girl. Good fill in front, pleasing head with rose shaped ears. Definite tuck up, along with a good top line. Long, easy stride, strong broad thighs with equal developed second thigh.

2nd- Worrall’s Collooney Because I can Khabaray. 3 year brindle white trim. Curvy girl, mature bitch. One again that I liked. Nice top line. Well let down hocks, Moved out well, could do with more ring presence seemed.

3rd- Pretty fly des plaines bruyeres avec Straceylon (imp fra)

Limit- 8 (3)

1st- Tyson’s Straceylon She’s a mover Jw

RBoB. 17 month black with white trim. Petite girl, in proportion. Gleaming coat and presented in lovely condition. Neat tight feet Balanced and elegant. Nice topline with that gentle arch over the loin. Ribs well sprung. One of the best movers of the day.

Pushed hard today for the BoB. Another that again seemed ever so slightly unsettled in the echoey hall.

2nd- Head’s Demerley Strawberry Ice Jw

Built on a bigger frame than one. Good fill in front, deep chest. Long neck, flowing into pleasing top line which she held on the move. Lost out to one on movement today.

3rd- Wood’s Elmanash mist o the moon

Open- 5 (1)

1st- Newton’s. Nevedith el ite

18 month dark brindle. Caught my eye upon entering the ring. Correct size, on going over her everything flowed. Lovely head, into long neck. Lovely top line and definite tuck up. Good forequarters and nice fill in front, balanced, moved out well with plenty of drive. Well handled, didn’t move her too fast as we sometimes see.

Pleased to award her BoB and see her shortlisted in Bis.

2nd- Holland’s Elmnash will o’the whisp

Black girl of 4 years. Nice bitch, different type to my first. Neat feet, another with a good fill in front and that important deep chest with plenty of heart room. Moved ok. Tail carriage could be slightly lower, but she is a happy girl as it never stopped wagging.

3rd- Robinson’s Taward Willow Jw
