Handling Classes

Junior Handling 6-11 Years (6,2)

1.    Robert Stuart

Very sympathetic and gentle handler. Showed promise in his shadowing and very neat pattern work on the move.

2.    Kitty Hartington

Showed teeth with ease and always paid attention to the judge’s position in the ring. Very patient with a challenging pup.

3.    Elena Stuart

Junior Handling 12-16 Years (5,3)

1.    Danielle Wilson

A very professional handler that made her work seem effortless. Showed her charge off to its best and was accurate in both movement and shadowing. A lovely partnership to watch. Best Junior Handler & Best Overall Handler.

2.    Chantelle Stuart

Another very promising young handler. Neat pattern work and presented her dog very well. Occasionally got between the judge and her charge, which cost her in this class.

Adult Handling 17+ (10,7)

1.    Rosemary Mason

Precise and clearly experienced handler. Unobtrusively handled her charge with a gentle and accurate hand. Accurate pattern work and matched her charge’s pace excellently. Best Adult Handler.

2.    Megan Anderson

A pleasure to see another sympathetic and gentle handler in the ring. Made excellent use of the entire ring and showed her charge’s gait off to its best. Did occasionally forget the ‘golden rule’ which made the difference in this class.

Retriever (Flat Coated)

Puppy (2,2)

Graduate (2,1)

1.    WHITAKER’s JETSTARSKI I’M ON FIRE

20mo liver bitch with a happy, enthusiastic temperament. Held her topline well on the move and displayed breed typical slashing tail action. Well off for bone and good width behind. Would prefer her to be slightly shorter coupled.

Open (1,0)

1.    WHITAKER’s EVENING MIST BLACK BRIANTA

Striking black bitch with an exuberant disposition. Almond-shaped eyes and ears well set. Balanced angulation and excellent forehand construction. Tight elbows, neat feet and well ribbed. Tail well set on and always wagging. Pleased to award BOB.

Retriever (Labrador)

Puppy (4,3)

1.    SMITH’s HURSTMEON HEY LOOK ITS ME AT FLYENPYG

9mo liver bitch. Loved her head.  Good bone and balanced movement. Well angulated and held her topline well on the move. Constantly wagging breed typical ‘otter’ tail. A little loose at the moment, but no more than to be expected at this age. Stood alone, but no less deserving of her win. BPIB.

Graduate (6,5)

1.    HULLCOCK’s SCOTSDYKE MARCHBANK BOY

19mo liver dog shown in excellent condition. Gives an impression of strength without being too heavy set. Stood square and present a balanced outline. Would prefer a little more width behind on the move.

Open (4,2)

1.    SMITH’s FLYENPYG PORKY PIG JW

5yo yellow dog whom I have admired from the ringside previously and he did not disappoint. Strong, masculine head. Correct dentition. Well-muscled neck leading onto well-angulated front construction. Good spring of rib, level topline leading onto strong hindquarters. Free flowing, happy mover showing his keen character off. A pleasure to award BOB.

2.    MULLET’s SHAYMILONEY SCHINUS AFINMORE

6yo dog. Unlucky to meet 1 today. Another strong, masculine dog of good bone. Balanced angulation and moved freely around the ring. Again, would like a little more width behind.
