Thank you to the exhibitors who showed and accepted my decisions in a sporting manner and to my steward Magie Henderson who kept the ring moving and the paperwork in good order.

Junior dog (1,0a)

1st Marsh & Banbury’s EblanHalls Yippee Ki Yay of Somersisle. Masculine headed male with head of correct proportions, good topline, with well ribs well sprung, good ear placement. Would prefer more lay of shoulder, good angulation behind and this boy is well-muscled. A shade more length of neck would benefit to balance him off. Level topline, well coupled. Moved soundly behind, would benefit from more extension in front. Tail set and carriage good. His overall colour and coat texture were good, head colour needs to clear, but this should come with age as he is still just 15 months of age. Well presented.

Post Grad dog (1,1a)

Withheld. It is never an easy decision to withhold. This boy was overawed on the day and had a bad experience. I sincerely hope that he will put that experience behind him and come into his own.

Limit dog (1,0a)

1st Hanna’s Kinaelan Kilmore. Four-year-old of an excellent type. Lovely head and expression of correct proportions set off by correct ears. Stood four square, with good topline and tail set and carriage. Good angulations fore and aft and moved soundly, with head and tail up. Although he scored on type, coat and wheaten colour, more body would be to his advantage. Handled and presented well. Res CC.

Open Dog (1,0a)

1st Lui’s Eblanahalls Aye Right. Six-year-old male, with a masculine head of good proportions, with jaws strong. Good spring of rib with level topline, excellent tail set. Angulations good front and rear and well balanced in outline. This boy is of a strong constitution. Moves very well in profile, and a shade close behind. Correct coat texture and wheaten colour. Well-presented and handled. CC and BOS.

Special Beginners Dog (1,0a)

1st Marsh & Banbury’s EblanHalls Yippee Ki Yay of Somersisle – Best SB

Puppy bitch (2,0a)

There was so much to like about both puppies, and I did wrangle with myself over this class.

1st Marsh/Banbury/Lui’s Eblanahalls Somer Isle. 7-month-old with head of correct proportions with tidy ears which she used giving her a lovely expression. Good angulations front and rear with a good length of neck and level topline. Good spring of rib ex tail set and carriage. Moved soundly. Her coat is what it should be for her age, and already she has a good wheaten colour. Best Puppy.

2nd. Ross’s Keridown Cadence N Cascade. Another lovely puppy of 10 months of ages. Head of good proportions. Good length of neck and good angulations front and rear. Level topline with good spring of rib. Correct tail set. Moved soundly. Correct coat texture. Well-presented and handled.

Junior Bitch (5, 1a)

The variations in this class on all levels presented challenges to me as a judge. I had to consider many elements to decide on my placings.

1st Lui’s Eblanahalls Gold Limerence JW. Smaller (acceptable) sized female of 15 months old. Head balanced, nice eye with large black nose. She is very well made with good angulations front and rear, stood four square, with a good topline. Good spring of rib. Moved soundly in all aspects with correct tail set and carriage. Her coat is of a good wheaten colour and texture. Well presented and handled.

2nd Marsh/Banbury/Lui’s Eblanahalls Somer Isle

3rd Hanna’s Kinaelan Every Confidence.

Post Grad (3, 0a)

1st. Delaney’s Braelochyen Ice Quartz with Millyjoy. A 6-year-old female of a lovely type. Head of good proportions and a large black nose. Lovely sized ears and when she used them finished the head. Stood four square, of a strong constitution, with a correct topline and good angulations front and rear. Correct tail set and carriage, with a good wheaten coat colour, although a softer texture would be to her advantage. Moved soundly, well presented and handled.

2nd Lui’s Eblanahalls Gold Limerence JW

3rd MacGregor’s Kirktonhill A Touch of Snow.

Limit bitch (2,0a)

1st MacAuley’s Keridown Western Star. A 5-year-old female of an excellent type and size. Head of correct proportion with good ears. Angulations good with good length of neck and good spring of rib. Strong constitution, with an excellent coat colour and texture. Moved soundly. Tail set not to her advantage. Well-presented and handled.

2nd Delaney’s Millyjoy A Drop of Golden Sun. 3 year old female, head of good proportions, not quite the balance of 1st. Well sprung ribs, level topline. Would prefer more lay of shoulder. Angulation behind good. Moves well in profile. Would benefit from a better tail set. Correct wheaten colour. Well-presented and handled.

Open Bitch (4,0a)

1st. Atyeo’s Kanjuley Scarlet Rose. This 6-year-old female caught my eye the minute she came into the ring for her type and balance, and she did not disappoint on examination. Head of correct proportions, with strong jaws with a good ear set and carriage. Neck of good length. Correct angulations front and rear with level topline and bang on tail set and carriage. There was no need for the handler to hold up the tail. She stood four square, with her head and tail held high both stacked and on the move. She is well ribbed and of a sturdy constitution. She moved soundly in all aspects. She has the correct coat texture and wheaten colour. There is nothing exaggerated about this female. I was happy to place her first, awarding her the CC (her second I am advised) and BOB. I hope that she will be considered for her 3rd at some point in the not-too-distant future.

2nd Hanna’s Ir Ch Kinaelan Finlandia Gilla. 6-and-a-half-year-old female, another bitch of correct type and unfortunate to meet 1st today. Head of good proportions and well balanced in outline. Good angulations front and rear with good spring of ring and level topline. She moved soundly in all aspects. This female also has the correct coat colour and texture. Well-presented and handled RCC.

3rd MacAuley’s Keridown All Night Long.

Veteran Bitch (1,0a)

1st Lui’s Thistlebe Them There Eyes at Eblanahalls ShCM ShC. 9-year-old female of a lovely type, well balanced in outline with head of good proportions. Good length of neck, angles good front and rear. Level topline and good spring of rib. Excellent tail set and good coat texture and wheaten colour. Moves well in profile and a shade close behind. BV and finished 3rd in the Veteran Group.

Sp Beginners (2,1a)

1st Grants Eblanahalls How Soon is Now. 15-month-old female with head of good proportions and balanced in outline, nice eyes bite with a well sprung rib. Tail set not to her advantage. Angulations good, topline needs to settle. Moves well when settled. A little more training for both the handler and dog when stacking would be to their advantage. Well presented.
