WINDSOR CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW 2ND JULY 2022 LEONBERGER

My thanks to my lovely stewards on the day and to everyone for a quality entry of beautiful Leos. Mouths were pretty good all through. Movement has definitely improved on the whole in the last few years and presentation was amazing. It was refreshing to see feet have improved hugely and toplines continue to get better each time I judge. Type varies considerably, so it is difficult to be consistent class after class, but I was very pleased with the quality of the line up in both sexes.

1st: BROWN- Davenheath Feeling Lucky To Brenaljay CH JW ShCM

Gorgeous guy who was most certainly considered in the final line up. Correct mouth, dark eye of good shape and pleasing expression. Thick ear leather, well placed and carried. Strong arched neck into a good shoulder with the desired wither high topline. Good width of front, good feet and excellent bone, moderate angles fore and aft and everything in correct proportion which saw him move very well from all angles, correctly carried tail and handled with compassion to get the best out of him. He has an abundance of dignity in his stance BEST VETERAN

1st: JUMP - Benellieson Time Lord

Sound baby boy who has everything in the right place, a recent growth spurt may have left him a little leggy today, but time is on his side. He has a dark mask, dark eye of good shape and thick ear leather. Good shoulder placement and topline. Enough bone, standing on good feet and moderately angled. He moved soundly from all angles and was a little proud of his tail at times, but he was a very happy baby enjoying himself, so I didn’t let it figure too highly.

2nd: THOMAS - Amathus Karmer NAF

Larger baby who has beautiful type, just a shade older than 1, yet far more mature in all areas and more of a finished look about him. Good mask, dark eye, good head proportions and expression. Thick ear leather, well furnished. Strong neck, good shoulder and topline. Nice width of front. Good feet and excellent bone. Moderate angulation and correct tail carriage. On first glance he was my class winner, sadly, he was favouring his right front which cost him dearly today, hopefully it is something which will rectify itself because he is otherwise beautiful

1st: TRATT Nexgen Apache -Chief

Handsome young lad with nice head properties, dark eye, thick ear leather, strong arched neck, into correct shoulder lay back. Good feet, bone and width of front. Well bodied, moved well viewed from all angles, correct tail carriage.

2nd: WALKER- Condalf Final Chance

Another handsome lad with good head proportions, correct in mouth, eye and thick ear set on well, strong arched neck, just needing to develop more in front. Nice topline, moderate angles all through, moved soundly.

Class 1527 LD (9 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: STUDHOLME - Corleone navigator at kalizmar (imp can) (Can Imp)

A handsome guy with good head proportions and lovely expression, nice pigment, lovely dark eye, thick ear set on well. Strong arched neck into a good shoulder, good feet excellent bone and sufficient width. Nice topline, moderately angled and in good muscular condition. Moved well when viewed from any angle and with excellent tail carriage. He is a very showy boy who pulls out all the stops at the request of his excellent handler, in the final line up, I just wanted more of him all through, hopefully time will see him fulfil that promise.

2nd: LEWIS - Cochise Choovio President Z Merboltic

A substantial guy who is all male. Correct in head proportions, dark eye, thick ear well set on. Strong neck, good bone and feet. Lovely topline, moderately angled all through. Moved well in all directions with good tail carriage.

1st: DAVIES - Ch Amathus One Special Guy From Jarno

All male, very handsome and quite eyecatching in outline. Lovely head proportions and expression, dark eye of correct shape, thick ear leather, set on well, strong arched neck into a nice shoulder. Excellent feet, well off for bone with good width of front. Excellent topline, moderately angled and well muscled. Moved well in all directions and had tremendous balance of outline which appeals greatly. Stood squarely at all times. Sympathetically handled and very responsive, he pulled out an extra gear in the dog challenge and came to rest perfectly square to demand the CC

2nd: BALDWIN - Brynarian Balilaika

Another handsome guy with good head proportions, correct pigment, dark expressive eye thick ear set on well, strong arched neck into a good shoulder. Good feet, bone and width of front with moderate angles all through and good muscle development. Nice topline moved well in all directions with correct tail carriage and stood squarely at all times. Another with a well balanced outline.

3rd: PEACHEY - Remrod's Blue Spinel at Taffnia (Swed Imp)

Shown in lovely condition and sympathetically handled. Eye could be a little darker, nice thick ear leather, strong neck into a good shoulder. Moderate in angles and moved well in all directions .

1st: STUDHOLME - Velikty medved angara hug kalizmar ( imp rus)

A beautiful and well grown young lady. Her head is developing very nicely, dark eye of good shape, thick, well placed ear. Strong arched neck into a good shoulder. Excellent feet and bone. Despite her youth she has an excellent topline and is moderately angled all through. She moved very well in all directions and with excellent tail carriage, her balance of outline saw her considered in the bitch challenge. She is one I shall watch with interest. BPIB

Very pleasing young lass with good pigment, dark eye and thick ear set on well. Arched neck, good shoulder and ample bone. Nice topline, moderate angles all through, moved well with correct tail carriage.

3rd: CLEARY - Benellieson Time in Motion

1st: STRUDWICK - Lullaby Moon

A cream well developed young lady in body and height. Nice head proportions with slightly lighter eye colour which is commonly seen with this coat colour. Thick ears, set on well, strong, arched neck into a good shoulder. Good feet and well off for bone with good width. Correct topline and moderately angled, moved well in all directions with excellent tail carriage. Nice balanced outline, turned out in good muscular condition.

2nd: DAVIES - Jarno Amazing Grace

Good mask, nice thick ear leather, set on well. Arched neck and good shoulder. Nice feet and good bone. A little bum high at the moment which affected her balance of outline.

3rd: PERKINS - Waterscape Cosmopolitan

1st: HEGINBOTHAM - Hera Nasza Duma (Imp Pol)

Ultra feminine girl who has a nice balance of outline, pretty head, nice mask, dark eye, thick ear set on well. Arched neck into a good shoulder. Good feet and ample bone. Nice topline, moved well and made a lovely outline when she came to a natural stop.

2nd: OSBORNE - Nexgen All Eyez On Me

Darker red, with blackest of pigment, thick ear leather set on well, arched neck and good topline. Excellent feet and bone, good width of front. Moderate rear with correct tail carriage, would like a little more length of upper arm.

3rd: WESCOMB - Fieldshouse Sun Dancer

Class 1533 LB (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: BROWN - DAVENHEATH GIPSY GIRL TO BRENALJAY (Q3) JW

Rich red lady with a beautiful head and expression. Dark eye of good shape, thick ear which is set on well. Arched neck into a good shoulder assembly. Excellent feet, bone and width of front. Good topline and moderate all through. Moved well in all directions with correct tail carriage. Headed this class with her balance of outline and expression, I would just like a little more of her, but nevertheless beautiful.

2nd: NIALL & ROTHERY - Davenheath Gin And Frolic

Another appealing red lady with good head proportions. Dark eye, thick ear leather, set on well. Arched neck into a good shoulder, excellent feet and bone. Nice topline and moderately angled, though she does tend to set herself up a little straighter in stifle, she moves very well in all directions and with excellent tail carriage.

3rd: THOMAS - Inculpata Leo Vom Zarendorf (imp rus)

1st: COLE - Averkate Kassandra with Simden (Imp Rus)

A well grown lady with the most immaculate outline. Good head proportions, dark pigment, dark well shaped eye, thick ear well set on. Strong, arched neck into a beautiful shoulder assembly. Excellent feet and good bone, with nice width of front. her wither high topline gives her a commanding presence. Strong in back on the move, she is moderate in angle all through, and carries her tail perfectly. A very honest girl who could move and move and move some more. She stood herself square every time I glanced in her direction and when coming to a natural stop. Her own sense of showmanship is very hard to look past, every virtue I look for, she simply throws at the eye. To find this quality of structure with her lovely size is not that common. Her hard muscular condition feels amazing under hand, I was excited to see if she delivered on that promise when I sent her around, and boy; did she ever.! She is still not fully mature, so can only get even better with time. She is a natural showgirl and has an envious rapport with her handler. I shall watch her with great interest. BCC and BOB

Another girl from the top drawer. Good head proportions, dark pigment, dark eye of good shape, thick ear lather well set on. Strong arched neck into a good shoulder. Excellent feet and bone. Lovely topline and moderately angled all through. She moves very well in all directions and with correct tail carriage. She is another who is built to move all day long at any pace. She has a beautiful balance of outline and great rapport with her handler to get the very best from her. Stood squarely at all times, her virtues are very obvious.

When she was called back into the lineup, she simply shone. RBCC
