Driffield Championship Dog Show

Breed: Shih Tzu

Thank you to the exhibitors who entered under me, it was a very enjoyable appointment. Shih Tzus have been a favorite breed of mine for many years. I understand that a couple of people had been telling exhibitors not to enter as “they knew what I would do”. I understand that this is happening more & more in the breed, under both breed specialists & non specialist. Not only is this insulting to the judge, it is also damaging for the breed. It is unfortunate that some people do not understand the consequences of continuously diminishing a breed’s entry. This inevitably leads to a loss of CCs at some shows. These will be the same people who will complain when it happens. We may second guess what a judge might do, but discouraging other exhibitors from entering is very short sighted.

Veteran Dog (3/2)

This was my class of the day. My shortlisted bitches were all of high quality and places could have easily changed. It was a joy to judge.

Feminine, of correct shape & size. Good tail set. Excellent well presented coat, in wonderful condition. Balanced throughout and moved with great drive & style from well laid back shoulders and good hind angulation. CC & BOB. I understand this made her up, so congratulations to her owners. Pleased to see her being shortlisted in the group.
