First let me thank the show committee for the invite to judge Bullmastiffs for the first time with CCs in the UK, yes ive judged them for years for FCI and am pleased to have given the breed group and BIS wins at International shows, I was honoured with a good entry and found the exhibitors was happy and seemed to enjoy their day out as I did mine, the weather was ok and I was pleased with my winners, this breed is known to still look well as they get older which was borne out as my cc and rcc was from veteran

1st: 218 WARREN, Mr William & WARREN, Mrs Amanda Yakee Tantalum of Copperfield

9 months old, but certainly looking mature and well filled out for age, super coat and colour, excellent and correct in size for bone and height, clean head which is developing well and off the right type, just needs time to fill out as you would expect from a puppy, nice well placed ears in correct position, good neck, topline needs time but ok at this age and stage, super temperament and happy to be shown and judged moved well for age, best puppy in breed and well done, pleased to see he got 4th in puppy group, and good luck with him in the future,

2nd: 214 THOMAS, Miss Carolyne & BULL, Miss Rebecca Phoria's Seventh Heaven

6 months old and looked like a baby which is really what you want and expect at this age, but showed himself off well and to advantage and enjoyed his day out, needs time and age to show his movement off to more advantage nice coat and keep him happy and having fun,

3 years old, nice and correct in type, strong in bone and correct in feet, well used ears and nice in head and head size and type, dark eyes moved well

like most judges I watch as dogs enter the class and ring and I looked more as this male came in, as he looked impressive and like he was there to win and seemed to know it as well, as always when you form this first impression you hope it is confirmed when examined and then moved, which is not always the case but pleased to say this time it was, stood like the the champion I now know he is, and looked and acted like class which he also is, so first thought was impressive and right type, excellent bone to be honest feet could be better but he’s a veteran so some slight allowance can and should be made, correct type and texture to coat with correct colour, moved with correct reach and drive and with the little effort I like to see but was positive with feet placement with correct topline standing and on the move, super for depth width and fore chest, correct length of loin well-muscled, clean head with correct skull and muzzle proportions clean and correct in checks and bite, well-handled and presented, more pleased to find out afterwards I gave his father a group in Australia, stood out for me today and was more than pleased and honoured to award CC and BOB, even more please to see later win a strong working group and also working veteran group and later BIS2 veteran, certainly a dog I was pleased to come into my ring, and best of luck with many more wins in the future

6 months and off course as expected a baby but with excellent temperament and happy to be shown and at the show, nice correct in coat all coming just needs time
