Thank you, to all those exhibitors who entered Blackpool, it was a lovely day with an overall quality entry. The short stubbily grass did upset the movement of a number of exhibits, but this should act as a reminder that not all show surfaces are the same and practice before your class is the key to success. It was pleasing to find fewer bad mouths in this entry & only one open fontanelle in a dog over the age of 12 months, although there were some open fonts in the younger classes. Both my Dog & Bitch CC’s came as a pleasing surprise on the day, so thank you for bringing them.

Class 279. Minor Puppy Dog

Minor Puppy Entries: 6 Absentees: 2

1st Altina Like Father Like Son at Yoshe (Mr J Akelis)

Exquisite eye, correctly placed ears of good proportion, good bite. Soundly put together, in good coat that was presented to perfection. Moved well for a youngster inspite of the surface to win the class and go on to take Best puppy in breed.

2nd Gordost Oskola Yulik (Imp Rus) (Mrs Yulii Goncalves De Barros)

Lovely bright orange in good coat with nice expression, sound and mature, but up to size.

3rd Poshdonpoms Donperignon (Miss Boyes)

4th Snowvilla Rocky Star (Mr C J & Mrs F S Brown)

Class 280. Puppy Dog

Puppy Dog Entries: 4 Absentees: 1

1st Altina Like Father Like Son at Yoshe (Mr J Akelis)

As minor puppy dog, again stood out in this class.

2nd Breezelyn O'sole Mio (Mrs J & Mrs A Pike & Carter)

A nice clear orange, correct in both size & shape soundly put together. High stepping a little in front, which could be down to the sharpness of the grass.

3rd Sueacres Kiss of Love (Ms S Smith)

Class 282. Yearling Dog

Yearling Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1st Reta's Sex in Flames at Breezelyn (Mrs J & Mrs A Pike & Carter)

As some of you will know, Black is anything but a favourite colour of mine, but this one was superbly presented, in excellent rich black coat, although showing a little frosting (greying) under the chin & down rear pants.

He was on form today, showing and being handled to perfection. He is compact, short in back with well set neck with a good well sprung rib cage. The head is exquisite, with good eye shape & size lovely stop, correctly shaped skull topped with small well set ears to finish the picture. He moved soundly & out performed the rest of the dog challenge to take the top stop.

2nd Sharhazlah Luvs A Dare Devil (Mr C & Misses M & M Hills)

An orange sable with pleasing head & expression, showed well & moved soundly.

Class 283. Post Graduate Dog

Post Graduate Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1st Dolls Dreamboy of Alexiadream (Miss Boyes)

Overall the movement in this class was not as strong as in the previous classes. 1st was in full coat with pleasing head, expression & had a good tail set, although not perfectly straight.

2nd Breezelyn Time to Shine (Mrs J & Mrs A Pike & Carter)

A little plainer in head than 1st, showed well & when stood four square, but has a tendency to stand long.

Class 284. Limit Dog

Limit Dog Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1st Vibrek's Wicket The Ewok (Mrs P Charlton)

A lightly shaded wolf sable in good coat, compact in size and well proportioned. Pleasing head, with high set ears and good eye completed a sweet expression. Carrying a little more weight than I would have liked.

2nd Breezelyn Ginvincible (Mrs J & Mrs A Pike & Carter)

Up to size and again one that can stand a little long, I would also have preferred a little higher set tail - neither of which help when looking at the final stance. Soundly made and moving freely and well.

3rd Sharhazlah's Son of A Devil (Mr C & Misses M & M Hills)

Class 285. Open Dog

Open Dog Entries: 4 Absentees: 1

This was another class that overall I felt the sharpness of the grass was unsettling the exhibits.

1st Ch Sharhazlah's Suave Devil ShCEx (Mr C & Misses M & M Hills)

This male coped better that the rest of the class and improved when it came to the challenge and went on to take the RDCC. He was clearly showing well and standing four square at all times, pulling together to show off for his handler. He was in good coat with a pleasing head, mouth and expression. I had this male down as my CC winner whilst judging this class, but the final CC winner just upped his overall game whilst competing in the challenge.

2nd Snowvilla Tropical Storm JW (Mr C J & Mrs F S Brown)

A very well put together orange sable male In good coat. Compact and square, but another that has a tendency to stand long, was a little unsettled on the move, but progressively got better - although still out moved by 1st on the day. A quality exhibit close up to the top awards.

3rd Petitpom Legend of Love JW (Mrs C Simmons)

Class 287. Minor Puppy Bitch

Minor Puppy Bitch Entries: 4 Absentees: 2

A reminder that mouths are an important of the overall package and need to have a correct scissor bite and be straight.

1st Jacobian Parade of Flames (Mrs S A Boyes)

Generally sound dual purpose bitch, sporting a shaded sable jacket and showing and moving well. Overall would have liked a little more refinement.

2nd Snowvilla December Lily (Mr C J & Mrs F S Brown)

A strong visible under jaw spoilt what would have otherwise been a very pleasing expression and the mouth was not as would expect. Stood four square, but a little unsettled on the move.

Class 288. Puppy Bitch

Puppy Bitch Entries: 3 Absentees: 1

1st Sueacres Legend of The Fall for Petitpom TAF (Mrs C Simmons)

A promising orange sable that is well put together and stands four square, with good spring of rib and correct length of coupling. Moved well and showed to advantage.

2nd Yoshi Touch of Hope (Miss A K Ogilvie)

This one on certainly showed its hander up!

Nice little bitch in a creamy orange coat, full of character.

Class 289. Junior Bitch

Junior Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 1

1st Parapom Avadiva (Mrs S A Boyes)

A soundly put together orange with nice expression, good tail placement and a correct textured coat. Nice eye shape and size with good ears to finish the picture.

2nd Yoshe Touch of Hope (Mr J Akelis)

Exquisite head, very pleasing eye, ear and a good mouth. Full of beans today, but moved soundly. Was giving a little away in terms of coat.

3rd Okean Zvezd Offer of Hope at Foxlyn (Imp Uck) (Mrs L Fox)

4th Sunny Beach Silva for Poshdonpoms (Imp Lva) (Miss Boyes)

VHC Magnuspaws Kara (Miss A Lewis)

Class 290. Yearling Bitch

Yearling Bitch Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st Aacharmoe’s Heaven Sent for Ismirelle (Mrs M Emmerson)

Orange sable in full coat of the correct texture. Soundly constructed which allowed it to show and moved well. Good straight tail with good placement. Needs to mature in one important aspect.

Class 292. Limit Bitch

Limit Bitch Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1st Minaspoms Tamarah (Mr C J & Mrs F S Brown)

A good size general purpose bitch with a sweet expression, in full plush coat. Has a tendency to stand long.

Class 293. Open Bitch

Open Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 1

This class was a pleasure to judge - a quality class, with good mouths all round. The texture and spikiness of the grass meant 3rd and 4th struggled to perform on the move, such a shame.

1st Spanapoms A Taste of Honey at Auberge (Mr A, Mr S A & Miss T Fleetwood)

The star performance of the day, from a real quality bitch, she stood away in this, the best class of the entry to take not only Bitch CC, but also Best of Breed. Not only was she soundly constructed and well put together, she just had that little bit of extra to take her to the top of the class. Beautifully presented and showed to advantage with good head and very pleasing expression, for absolute perfection would have liked a slightly small eye. Well done and thank you for allowing me to find her.

2nd Altina's Tudor Rose (Miss M Mcdowall)

A well coated orange with a very pleasing outline and quality well presented coat. Perfect eye shape and size, well bodied and moving soundly. RCC

3rd Petitpom Sunrise (Mrs C Simmons)

4th Petitpom Sunset at Sueacres (Ms S Smith)
